President Trump Fires Defense Secretary Mark Esper

Yay. A deep stater who has consistently undermined the President.

Trump says Defense Secretary Mark Esper has been terminated

By: CNBC, Nov 9 2020:

WASHINGTON — In a tweet Monday afternoon, President Donald Trump said he terminated his Secretary of Defense Mark Esper.

“I am pleased to announce that Christopher C. Miller, the highly respected Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (unanimously confirmed by the Senate), will be Acting Secretary of Defense, effective immediately,” Trump wrote.

The Pentagon would not comment when contacted by CNBC.

The latest revelation comes on the heels of an NBC News report that Esper had prepped his resignation letter, bracing for an inevitable termination from the Trump administration.

In an extraordinary break with Trump, Esper told reporters in June that he did not support the invoking the Insurrection Act, a law from 1807 that would allow Trump to deploy active-duty U.S. troops to respond to civil unrest stemming from protests against police brutality across the country.

“I say this not only as secretary of Defense, but also as a former soldier and a former member of the National Guard, the option to use active-duty forces in a law enforcement role should only be used as a matter of last resort, and only in the most urgent and dire situations. We are not in one of those situations now,” Esper said.

“I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act,” he added.

Hours later, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Trump has the “sole authority” to move forward with the measure. When asked if the president was peeved by Esper’s comments at the Pentagon, McEnany gave a lukewarm response.

“I would say if he loses confidence in Secretary Esper I’m sure you all will be the first to know. As of right now, Secretary Esper is still Secretary Esper, and should the president lose faith, we will all learn about that in the future,” McEnany said at the time.

Esper, who was previously the secretary of the Army, ascended to the top spot in the Pentagon in June of 2019. His tenure as top Pentagon official followed the resignations of Trump’s first Secretary of Defense James Mattis and then-acting Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan.
James Mattis, U.S. Secretary of Defense, right, and Patrick Shanahan, Deputy Secretary of Defense, wait outside the Pentagon before an event in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018.

Better late than never! It suggests to me he is also confident of a win.
He needs to stay with his gut instincts, fire more people and stop listening to bad advice.

He was entering a system that has been around since the Bush and Clinton Cabals……He got Deep State recommendations….he was on the “learning curve”.
He’s got it now…..

Fire all the traitors. Disloyalty is a corrosive cancer. Wray, Barr and Haspel are all on the chopping block.

And what happened to Pompeo, who said he had all of Hilliary’s emails? Maybe he should go too.

The DOJ should be handling that, not Pompeo. Corrupt Barr is there doing nothing. He needs to go soon too as well as Wray. You can’t rationalize away that they are not covering up for Hillary, Biden and others. The only reason I can think of is Trump may not have decided yet on who will replace them.

How can Barr make the FBI do anything?
The FBI has announced they are not investigating the Biden laptop due to “not enough evidence” to convince court? They have to corroborating witnesses? One is in jail and has been silenced/moved to parts unknown. For protection form who? The witness Bobolinski has had his twitter account closed.
(Yeah there goes that corroborating evidence.)

Barr did note make that statement about the FBI investigation being closed – the FBI did.
Todayh Barr ordered the Voting irregularities to be investigated – will the FBI follow the order in timely matter or even respond?

felix1999

The FBI is under the A.G..

What’s on Hunter’s laptop is the evidence with corroboration. We get to read about it all the time. We get to see and listen to witnesses back up the evidence we read about. It’s all there. It’s laid out in emails.

I hadn’t heard or read that Barr thought that. They have witnesses too! That is bizarre. Barr is doing the least amount possible to help Trump and serve justice. He’s not on our side…. It’s maddening.

Barr can because as A.G. if you are breaking the law and that includes Federal agents you can and should be charged for doing so, good examples of those within the FBI who have gotten away with their crimes against the true patriots of this nation for far too long, Mueller, Comey, McCabe, and Strzok and Stzok’s former mistress Page as well.

That was a mistake and he let people talk him out of firing him then. Trump should have fired him then!

Mark Esper was fired. Christopher Miller is Acting Secretary of Defense and was promoted. Trump is referring to when Christopher Miller was unanimously confirmed by the Senate when he WAS Director of the National Counterterrorism Center. Right now Miller is Acting Secretary of Defense and not yet confirmed for this position. I know nothing about Miller.

This guy was really bad. I understand not wanting to be surrounded by yes men but this guy was ridiculous.

Throughout the President’s first term in office politically-minded military flag officers have sought to undermine the administration effort to withdraw from global conflicts.

During an interview with Bob Woodward, former Defense Secretary James Mattis admitted to plotting the overthrow of the U.S. government under Trump. https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/09/09/bob-woodward-general-james-mattis-plotted-overthrow-of-u-s-government/

One of the more obvious exhibitions of the Pentagon outlook was in their support for Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman who attempted to frame a false impeachment effort because President Trump’s foreign policy did not align with the preferred intervention approach of the military industrial complex. {Go Deep} https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2019/11/16/a-seditious-conspiracy-lt-col-vindman-cia-whistleblower-source-1-shaped-false-summary-of-april-trump-zelensky-phone-call/

A president is becoming just a figure head. Other branches of government do their own global thing. Trump actually wanted to be a real President and put America first instead of last and that is not going over well. From their perspective, he has to go.

Esper fires back: ‘Who’s pushed back more than anybody’ on Trump?
By Ben Wolfgang – The Washington Times – Monday, November 9, 2020

Fired Pentagon chief gave exit interview to Military Times

Outgoing Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper is proud of his record of standing up to President Trump and preserving his “integrity” amid a tense relationship with the White House, he said in an interview with the Military Times published Monday.

(If you had any integrity you would not have accepted the position.)

Mr. Esper, who clashed with the president on key issues over the past 18 months, said that virtually no other member of the Trump administration can match his record of standing up to the commander in chief. He said he tried to implement key policies such as the administration’s National Defense Strategy (NDS) despite conflict with the president.

(That was the straw the broke the camels back. You can’t go around the President like that. A person of “integrity” would have resigned with so much conflict with Trump. You are a dishonorable, sneaky person pushing your own agenda and sabotaging Trumps direct commands and agenda. We have some real arrogant, deep state, morons in D.C..)

Trump did the right thing.

As a military retiree and current DOD employee, I say good-riddance to SJW Esper! And DJT never should have appointed Mattis, who tied the hands of our combatants and oversaw the railroading of our troops by leftists in the SJA offices.

I hope the new SecDef cleans out the political hacks and cuts back positions at the highest levels. If it requires congressional action, he needs to communicate his recommendations to the White House and Armed Services Committees. Merge organizations and eliminate Generals and their staffs. The reason it is so hard to get things done is TOO MUCH BUREAUCRACY!

To think of all the businesses Trump could’ve saved,, the deaths and injuries he could’ve prevented if he deployed the troops, The Antifa and BLM Cowards’ riots could’ve been stopped early. What I don’t understand is did Trump need his permission to unleash the troops or something?
