George Floyd Riots Cost Insurance Companies Over $2 BILLION, Most Expensive CATASTROPHE in U.S. History

The most expensive disaster in American history.

That is the legacy of the Democrat party. Attacking America during a health crisis when we are unable to respond. Remember in November.

Riots following George Floyd’s death may cost insurance companies up to $2B

By Noah Manskar, N Y Post, September 16, 2020 |

Insurance companies could pay up to $2 billion in claims stemming from riots sparked by the police killing of George Floyd — making them the most expensive in US history, a new report says.

The record-setting insured losses piled up as the demonstrations sometimes descended into looting, arson and vandalism in 20 states across the country from May 26 to June 8, Axios reported Wednesday, citing figures from the Insurance Information Institute.

“It’s not just happening in one city or state — it’s all over the country,” Loretta L. Worters, a spokeswoman for the industry group, told Axios. “And this is still happening, so the losses could be significantly more.”

The cost of the damage will likely surpass that of the 1992 Los Angeles riots following the acquittal of the cops who beat Rodney King. That violence led to $775 million in insured losses at the time, or more than $1.4 billion in today’s dollars, according to the institute known as Triple-I.

The violence sparked by Minneapolis cops’ killing of Floyd was the first “multi-state catastrophe event” ever declared for civil disorder by claim-tracking company Property Claim Services, Triple-I has said.

Past civil catastrophes — events that caused at least $25 million in insured losses — unfolded in individual cities, such as the 1967 Detroit riots or the 1977 New York City blackout, according to the group, which noted that standard business-owner and homeowner insurance policies cover riot-related damages.

But the costs of this year’s riots will reportedly be dwarfed by natural disasters that have hammered parts of the country. Hurricane Isaias is expected to cost $3 billion to $5 billion in insurance losses, while the tab for the just-started wildfire season is already at $1.5 billion, Axios reported.

Triple-I did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for its estimate of riot-related damages Wednesday morning.

You’re right I think, I left believes the ends justify the means so when you think that way all you need is a launching pad for your narrative. Doesn’t even have to be a good launching pad when you
have propaganda media winking and supporting your efforts…

That’s the ones that have paid out. There are plenty of insurance companies that aren’t paying people. There was an article about it a few weeks ago.

This is all a coordinated insurrection against America. Not enough is being done to neutralize these traitors.

Where is the DOJ and FBI? One can only conjecture that they are in tacit compliance. Being a communist is a crime in America.

Floyd was on meth and a fatal dose of Fentanyl. Of course he couldn’t breath. Maybe he should have mentioned to the police that he took Fentanyl so the could get him help?

But the mindless hoards just go out and go crazy. Cops white, criminal black: ergo police murdering poor black man who was resisting the police at every step. No, don’t wait for the coroner’s report, especially since you really want that 85″ Sony TV from the shop before it goes up in smoke.

BTW, just watching the Melbourne police going crazy, throwing people on the ground and using their knee on necks. No one died. I guess they were not on Fentanyl.

Not only do insurance companies NOT cover all of the costs of the damage, but they also CANCEL a lot of those policies.

More than $2 billion down the drain.

Who ultimately pays for it? We all do. The costs have to be passed onto consumers, one way or another.

I would like to forward my bill to the BLM organization. With all the donations they have been getting I hear they are worth over a billion dollars themselves.

Let them pay for the damage that they themselves have caused…..

Much of the cost needs to be transferred to the mayors who issued stand down orders to the police.
