Is there a better metaphor for what the hijrah (Muslim immigration) is doing to the West?
Allahu Akbar’ Man Robs Pensioner and Defecates on Him
A 53-year-old man in the French commune of Le Crosic has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after robbing an 85-year-old, beating him, and defecating on him.
The incident took place on May 29th earlier this year and saw the man open the window of the elderly man’s home and steal clothing, a telephone and three knives. Initially, he left the home but returned later after he had left his shoes in the home.
The 85-year-old, who was home at the time, confronted the man when he returned and attempted to stop him. The pensioner was then beaten by the burglar with several punches and while the 85-year-old was on the ground, the attacker defecated on him and smeared faeces on his head, France Bleu reports.
Police later arrested the 53-year-old who threatened to kill them, shouting, “Allahu Akbar, I’m going to come back with a car, smash everything, make carnage.”
According to the broadcaster the man has already been convicted for 19 crimes, including murder.

The court handed down a 24-month sentence but six months were suspended. The man will be subject to two years of probation and is banned from Le Croisic.
The incident comes just weeks after an Egyptian national, also yelling “Allahu Akbar”, attacked police in the town of Fiumicino just outside of Rome in neighbouring Italy. The 29-year-old, armed with Japanese-style nunchucks, had been threatening municipal workers before being confronted by police.
The “Allahu Akbar” phrase was also yelled earlier this year by a knifeman in Metz who attempted to attack police with a knife but was subdued after officers shot him in the leg.
The incident came just days after two other attacks in which people used the phrase in Paris, where one person died, and in Germany, where a Turkish national attempted to attack police with a knife.

Britain had never needed to even consider marching on Moscow. Apart from the Crimea war we never really crossed swords with them. There was some intrigue in Afghanistan in the 19th century with the ruskies but it never came to open blows and was all part of what was called The Great Game.
Napoleon was a self loving psychopathic little prick who had no care whatsoever for his own soldiers lives and thought nothing of sending them to their death. What a hell that retreat from Moscow must have been.

There’s an ugly book called Diary of a Napoleonic Foot Soldier that is the diary of a German conscript in the French army (apparently every German family had to give up one of its sons to fight for Napoleon and France). His narration of the retreat from Moscow is pretty terrible and the native French forces seemed to have been given priority for things like ammunition, food, transport and supplies.

I’v read several books on the peninsula campaign and Waterloo but I’ve never read anything from the French side.
It’s interesting that the soldier is a German as there was a German regiment fighting within the British army in those wars called The Kings German Legion or simply the KGL. Looking forward ????

I’m guessing the reason these Germans were forced to fight for the French is because they had been conquered by Napoleon and France? Ditto for the Poles? Or were the Poles allies of Napoleonic France?

The Germans were long off being the unified country that they were by WW1 and the parts of the country along the French border like Alsace Lorraine were always going back and forth in contention so I’m guessing the author came from one of those places.
Napoleon had quite a massive army and they were drawn from all over continental Europe not least from Poland.
In many ways the Napoleonic war was The First World War as the battles with the British were fought on many fronts including the colonies and dominions across the globe.
And that grand finale showdown at Waterloo.
