Black Lives Matter Co-Founder in 2015: ‘We Are Trained Marxists’

Story continues below advertisementA short, but wide-ranging, 2015 interview with Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors revealed that many of those within the movement, including Cullors, consider themselves to be “trained Marxists.”
In a moment of discussion regarding the lack of ideological direction within the movement, Cullors argued that the movement does “have an ideological frame.”
“Myself and Alicia [Garza] in particular are trained organizers,” Cullors said in an interview with the Real News Network. “We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories.”

“We don’t necessarily want to be the vanguard of this movement,” Cullors continued. “I think we’ve tried to put out a political frame that’s about centering who we think are the most vulnerable amongst the black community, to really fight for all of our lives.”
Cullors went on to say in 2015 that she believed “we have some clear direction around where we want to take this movement,” adding at the time that she did not believe “it’s going to fizzle out.”
The question regarding a larger ideological presence within the Black Lives Matter movement was asked of Cullors in response to criticism from Jalil Abdul Muntaqim, a prisoner who, along with two others, was convicted of killing two police officers in Harlem in 1971.
Muntaqim, who has received little support from many members within the movement, said he believed the movement would fizzle out.

During Obama’s first term I recall reading on-line a remark made by someone that knew him at Occidental College. The writer said that he was a Marxist Leninist and upon his first meeting Obama he knew that Obama was also one. What would you expect from someone mentored and fathered by Frank Marshall Davis, a Communist. An Egyptian Christian, Usama Dakdok, told people, that if elected Obama would be the first Muslim president. I did not think Islam and Marxism were compatible until reading this article.

The graffiti showed blatant antisemitism. It’s Kristallnacht all over again,” Rabbi Shimon Raichik, a Chabad Rabbi in Los Angeles, wrote.
These scenes from what the media has falsely called peaceful protests and the Jewish community in the Fairfax neighborhood of Los Angeles has called the Shavuot Riots, after the biblical holiday during which the worst of the attacks on the community occurred, has fundamentally divided Los Angeles Jews.

Melina Abdullah, the lead organizer of Black Lives Matter in LA and a professor of Pan-African Studies at Cal State, had been very clear about her motive for bringing her hateful campaign to the area.
Farrakhan has praised Hitler, compared Jews to termites, and had declared, “Those who call themselves ‘Jews,’ who are not really Jews, but are in fact Satan”, claimed, “Hitler was trying to destroy the international bankers controlling Europe”, and boasted, “there has not been a black leader in America locked in a struggle with the Jewish community, but Louis Farrakhan.”
And Abdullah has made no secret of sharing Farrakhan’s hostility toward Jews.
