School Districts Across The Country Move To Cut Contracts With Local Police

A number of school districts in the United States are moving to cut contracts with local police as riots break out across the country against police brutality and as the Black Lives Matter movement pressures politicians to defund the police altogether.
Story continues below advertisementEarlier this week, the Minneapolis Public School Board voted to end its contract with MPD over the death of George Floyd. “I value people and education and life,” school board chairwoman Kim Ellison said in an interview. “Now I’m convinced, based on the actions of the Minneapolis Police Department, that we don’t have the same values.”
Two members of the Denver school board are urging the district to cut contracts with DPD and are set to bring a resolution forward Monday to have officers completely removed from the schools in the district by 2021.
“Our numbers show us that black children are still three to five times more likely to refereed to law enforcement or suspension, respectively, and again some of our own practices have introduced students to a normalization an internalization of their place, which is not something we want to contribute to anymore,” Denver Board of Education Vice President Jennifer Bacon told reporters.
“School resource officers are not needed to ensure the safety of all of our kids,” board Secretary Tay Anderson said of the move.
The superintendent of Portland Public Schools, Guadalupe Guerrero, said Thursday that he’s ‘discontinuing’ school officers’ presence in the city’s schools. Some in Chicago have also petitioned their leaders to do the same.

Chances are if this goes through, parents will run, or place their children in private accountable schools or home schooling, although teacher’s unions and state and local, evenfederal government will try to ban private and home schooling or force heavy fees and licensing requirements to stop parents from removing children from public school. Schools can force propaganda.

Not everyone can place their child in a private school. It’s expensive and provides about the same level of brainwashing. (My niece is in a private school. I have some clue). Home schooling is not always available, because most of women work now. Besides of it, I’m not sure it’s a good idea in many ways. It’s definitely more secure for the child, but the mothers are not professionally trained teachers with diplomas. Besides of it child needs to have friends and the social life. My lifetime best friends are my school friends. It’s just my humble opinion. I believe if we pay the over the top property taxes which 80% goes to schools, we have right to request the civilized level of the education and security for our kids. No Drug Queens allowed! No classes for oral sex for kids in Elementary schools (California). Just make it right!

We really need to get school choice. Everyone should have it! In Europe the money follows the student. We need to do the same thing here and not be held hostage to inferior crap and indoctrination. They aren’t learning anything useful. Our scores are lower than ever since Common Core was implemented. We have lost another generation.
We had to fork out money for a private school tuition and also pay taxes for local public schools. It’s outrageous! Our property taxes are through the roof in NJ. We just did with less and scaled back vacations to make it happen.
We have used these sources for years to see what the liberals are up to. If you know of anyone that could find these sources useful, pass them along.

I just happened to catch this. I am glad to hear that!
We are in cesspool NJ in a sleepy conservative township. Our cops here are great. We are next to a woods and a creek so we have animals and pets to keep us entertained. No family in NJ. Years ago we moved here for our jobs in NYC. Now we are retired.
Our plan is to move on when our last one finishes up at her university in a year. So we are prepping the house and slowly but surely getting rid of stuff.

Those schools will trickle back to sanity. They MUST, because unprotected kids will get hurt. Then the schools will get sued, and principals will get charged with reckless endangerment, etc. This is a self-correcting process. Meanwhile, the cops will do other things that need doing.
AND guess who will complain the most about the lack of police presence? The black parents will complain the most, because they need the best safety they can get. Black on black violence is a serious problem.

Did you see on Tucker last night how Libtard parents are making their kids be shamed for being White? A poor little girl was made to hold up a sign that she was “privileged” because she is white. And she was shamed for being white….it was very disturbing to see.
So now we know for sure that the last generations (her mother) are now passing on their “sickness” to their kids. This is going to go on for at least 3 more generations….until there is a terrible clash.

Was it Kushner will to get alone with such a scandal? WH called them, so they should pay for that if Washington mayor is above the President. Someone was asking me why everything is a “blue state red state issue when they are the Uniparty” and I ended that crap in a hurry by telling him that should the country split apart, there will be no more uniparty. If you like the uniparty, you go to a blue state. When there are red state elections, you will be voting for the Republican with the ideas you like best. After that deadly fiasco at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas high school down in Florida, it is a surprise most districts did not switch to maintaining their own armed police force.
When something goes awry at a school campus, it must be dealt with immediately instead of waiting to have a cop show up after investigating a fender bender on the far side of town.
Or having some gutless character show up who refuses to enter a building while some deranged punk is in there killing kids.
