New York lawmakers rush to slaughter the golden goose

The top 1 percent of earners pay 46 percent of New York income taxes. That’s a lot of revenue to lose if only a few of them skip to Florida. Almost half of the upper East side has already bolted.

New York lawmakers rush to slaughter the golden goose

Tax the rich, tax the rich, tax the rich,” Gov. Andrew Cuomo complained in February, mocking state lawmakers whose obsession with milking wealthy New Yorkers risked causing those fat cats to flee the state. But those legislators plainly took it as an instruction manual.

The pandemic and lockdown have tanked the economy and government revenues. State Sen. Liz Krueger (D-Manhattan) told Newsday the answer is “ensuring that those with the most are pitching in their fair share and those with the least are not made to bear a disproportionate burden.”

Story continues below advertisement

Never mind if that “fairness” kills the businesses she wants to milk or pushes high earners to give up on New York. Plenty are already eyeing the exits, since it’s hard to see how to virus-proof dense urban areas.

As it is, the top 1 percent of earners pay 46 percent of New York income taxes. That’s a lot of revenue to lose if only a few of them skip to Florida.

Some Democratic state lawmakers want a new tax on billionaires; others favor a stock-transfer tax, a pied-à-terre tax on second homes, surtaxes on hedge-funders, new levies on big corporations that got federal tax breaks in 2017 and on and on.

The legislative Robin Hoods talk about their plans as “shared sacrifice.” But the sacrifice-ees can vote “no” with their feet. The Empire Center’s E.J. McMahon points out that the stock-transfer tax, in particular, will simply push a mobile industry to perform its transactions anywhere but here.

City and state, New York faces an existential challenge: Experts warn the local economy won’t recover until 2024 — and that assumes state leaders don’t burden it further.

It’s beyond sad when the plan is to kill the golden goose.

I would bet a lot of the 1% just happen to be Jews. Whom El Commandante de Blase hates.

I hate to tell you that not all people, who generate wealth are not Jewish. My maternal grandfather, who has only an 8th grade education consulted with Westinghouse and GE on Hoover Dam. Though he taken some correspondence courses of college level he had a double registration as both an electrical and mechanical engineer. In 1996, I worked with an electrical engineer, who had retired from Argonuat and laughed as he browsed a book, my grandfather’s bio when he retired. I asked what was so funny. His response was “Some of your grandfather’s 28 patents have been improved, but they are the basis of the WORLD’S POWER DISTRIBUTION INDUSTRY.” His patents probably made manufacturing in places like Detroit and the auto industry, more efficient. For those that don’t know Argonaut, it was the division of General Motors that use to build GM plants. The man I mention had been head of electrical engineering. My point here is that you might be surprised who are the real mover and shakers. My own father left NY after WW2, a Veteran, to go to Detroit where he earned his MSME at Chrysler. He had an idea for the auto industry you may have heard of? Build car bodies out of fibreglass.

I think NY is the state of Communism as a member of the NY Assembly, Clinton Roosevelt wrote what is probably the template of the Communist Manifesto in 1841. When did Marx write his? Oh, Clinton was a cousin of FDR.

Very true and I can point to my own family for that… They did very well. They came here from Europe with nothing but a tough work ethic, but you won’t convince an antiSemite of that. People will believe what they wish to believe!

If you note the anti-Semites are typically not hard workers and, from my experience only rarely are hard working people. They spend too much time attacking others. Of course, I’ve heard that George Soros is now attacking anyone, who points him out for evil for their anti-Semitism. Funny that coming from a man that said he does not believe in God right to Phil Donahue.

Of course. I am just recognizing that NYC has a large Jewish population and many have created a lot of wealth. Pamela’s father among them. And Pamela, too. I don’t know about now but she did have a large condo in the Upper East Side. I once worked as a stock broker and we had a significant number of Jewish brokers in my office in Cal. One was a good friend of mine. About a 1/4 of the brokers were Jewish. That was in a small town with a very small Jewish population. Town was Modesto, Cal, George Lucas’s home town.

Pamela is quite amazing and what a Beauty, too. I’ve always found it humorous that while Jews in Europe were denied access to certain professions during the centuries, achieving in what they were left with was then attacked. Along with MS. Geller is another conservative Jewish group that has educated me more than the NRA.Take a look at this article by Rabbi Dovid Bendory “Why Jews Hate Guns, Are they right? And who are The Shomrim?”

What will they do when they have no more wealthy people to tax and redistribute? This lock down is not only destroying people financially, testing their sanity but also literally killing people.

800 Percent’: 600+ Doctors Warn Lockdowns Doing Much More Damage Than COVID
Paul Strand
05-20-2020

Dr. Simone Gold is an emergency room physician documenting these harms as she’s contacted fellow medical professionals across the country and helped form this new group A Doctor A Day.

“People are not getting their health care,” Gold shared. “We’re so worried about the fact that patients believe that they are going to get sick if they show up for medical tests. But they’re actually hurting themselves.”

They’re avoiding hospitals even during emergencies.

“There are all these patients out there not showing up to emergency departments,” Gold stated, saying where she works, “The volume in the emergency department is incredibly low. Maybe 60 percent of what it usually is. And this is across the nation. Everybody’s had the same experience, excluding the New York metropolitan area.”

“Actually, it’s quite empty,” she reported, saying of her own hospital, “I got a letter just this last week that we are firing 50 percent of our technicians.”

Layoffs have been widespread in hospitals across the country since the pandemic hit.

The letter says, “These include 150,000 Americans per month who would have had a new cancer detected through a routine screening that hasn’t happened, millions who have missed routine dental care to fix problems strongly linked to heart disease/death, and preventable cases of stroke, heart attack, and child abuse. Suicide hotline phone calls have increased 600%.”

“The reality is that we are way past the time where being locked down makes any scientific or medical sense,” said Dr. Jeff Barke, a primary care physician in Newport Beach, California.

But he pointed out the odds for most people dying from COVID-19 are actually statistically very low, “Whereas all of our patients with care for their brain tumors being delayed and along with our stroke victims, who are unfortunately suffering strokes because they won’t access the healthcare system, are being very severely impacted by these lockdown tactics.”

“Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States,” cardiologist Gabe Vorobiof at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles pointed out.

The results of that are deadly. “In-home cardiac arrests in the New York area are up 800 percent,” Vorobiof shared. “The majority of those cardiac arrest patients were not revived.” In other words, they died.

It just goes on and on and on showing how this lockdown with more examples is killing people that need care not fear.

Would those Jews be part of the 70+% who twice voted for a Muslim, Marxist, Community Agitator with ZERO executive experience? They placed their love of Marxist Communism over the USA, their own religion, and Israel.

Isn’t this amazing. 1% pay 46% yet you will always her from Demagogues such as Flaming Red Bill, Mayor NYC, or AOC and Governor Cuomo, 2 of 3 billionaires the “Rich need to pay their fair share and not put it on the backs of the ‘workingman'” as if wealthy people or business People don’t work hard. You can only squeeze so much out of a turnup. There will be a caravan to Florida and more friendly States. Why not go to Texas and pay no State Income Taxes. This would increase their income at least 10%.

California And Illinois are both supported by the 1% highest earners paying close to 50% of state income taxes and a large part of the property taxes as well. The most effective way to collapse these huge blue states is to suck away their tax base.
