Sanders holds on to lead in 2020 Democratic race; Chris Stirewalt breaks it down.

Sen. Bernie Sanders will win the Nevada caucuses, Fox News can project, furthering the democratic socialist’s lead over his Democratic rivals and raising the question as to whether he can be stopped on his path to the Democratic nomination.

With six percent of delegates in, Sanders has 54.7 percent.

According to those returns, former Vice President Joe Biden is in second place with 17.9 percent, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., has 9.7 percent, and former South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg has 9 percent and billionaire Tom Steyer has 7.4 percent. Ultimately 36 delegates are at stake.

SEE RESULTS IN NEVADA

The closely-watched process began with Nevada Democrats optimistic that they would avoid a repeat of the technical glitches that plagued the caucuses in Iowa. Those fears led the state Democratic Party to decide to rely on traditional reporting by phone, rather than an app made by the same developer that created the app blamed for the debacle in Iowa. It has also scrapped a plan to use a Google Forms app loaded onto iPads.
Fox News projects that Sen. Bernie Sanders will win the Nevada caucusesVideo

NEVADA DEMS HOPE TO AVOID CAUCUS CHAOS: HERE’S HOW THE PROCESS IS SUPPOSED TO WORK

“Nevada Democrats have learned important lessons from Iowa, and we’re confident they’re implementing these best practices into their preparations,” said Xochitl Hinojosa, a Democratic National Committee (DNC) spokeswoman. “We’ve deployed staff to help them across the board, from technical assistance to volunteer recruitment.”

DNC Chairman Tom Perez told Fox News on Saturday that the party is in “great shape” ahead of the caucuses: “We have all of the early vote results distributed to the caucus sites. People are checking now…. I think it’s going to be a really exciting day.”

For the first time, Nevada held early voting, from last Saturday through Tuesday. Roughly 75,000 people cast ballots, which was nearly as many people who took part in the state’s entire 2016 Democratic caucuses. But since this is a caucus, the ballot was far from simple. Voters were given ballots to rank their choice of candidates. The early-voting ballots were then married with those of caucus-goers on Saturday – in both the first round and the realignment.

Perez indicated that the early voting was providing a challenge, but said that it was a “good problem” to have. Asked if there will be results by the end of Saturday, he said: “That’s our goal.”

Shortly after the caucuses got underway, the state Democratic Party pushed back against early reports of party volunteers not showing up to administer caucuses at a number of sites, meaning they were being replaced by campaign precinct captains as site leads or site chairs. Sources in one campaign said the developments were “huge red flags” and that a number of sites do not have their early voter data needed to calculate the first alignment.

“To correct the record, there is no volunteer shortage in NV. We have an average of eight volunteers per caucus site, so roughly 2000+ across the state. Also, it’s common for campaign volunteers to help with running precincts on Caucus Day,” Nevada Democratic Party spokesperson Molly Forgey said. “This happened here in both 2016 and 2008.”

SANDERS AIMS FOR NEVADA CAUCUS WIN TO KEEP MOMENTUM GOING — BUT OTHER DEMS NOT GIVING UP

Should the state party avoid the pitfalls before them, the caucuses mark a pivotal moment as candidates sought to prove that they can attract support for a more diverse electorate in the state — where there is a significantly higher Latino population than in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Nevada’s population, which is closer to that of the country as a whole than the more white Iowa and New Hampshire, is 29 percent Latino, 10 percent black and 9 percent Asian American and Pacific Islander.

“Look, this campaign is really just getting started. We’re finally in a place where there are folks who represent the country, who look like the country. There are good folks in Iowa and New Hampshire, but this looks like America,” former Vice President Joe Biden, who struggled in both previous states, said Friday.

Sanders had long been predicted to win the state comfortably. A Biden second-place finish is significantly stronger than the disappointing fourth- and fifth-place finishes in the first two states, and keeps alive his campaign’s narrative that he is the best pick to occupy the centrist lane to beat Sanders and eventually President Trump.

But a significant Sanders’ victory would also raise questions about whether Biden can catch Sanders, and whether centrists should rally around a different candidate.

Biden has seen competition for that moderate mantle from others including Buttigieg, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and also billionaire Mike Bloomberg — who is not on the ballot in the caucuses, but is creeping up the polls nationally.

In 2016, eventual Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton edged out Sanders in the Nevada caucuses – thanks in part to her strong support among the state’s Latino and African-American voters.

If you think Bernie Sanders is a communist, then you need to back to high school and learn basic political science terms.

He’s a social Democrat in the same vein as FDR. He’s basically carrying on the legacy of the New Deal and the Great Society, highly successful social programs that improved millions of lives and lifted them out of poverty. Just one example, Social Security reduced senior citizen poverty rates from ~50% to ~10%. Anyone who wants to cut a program like that (which is exactly what Trump’s new budget proposal does) is out of their mind and has no interest in serving the common people. This is a notion that even Eisenhower, a Republican, echoed back in the 1950s.

LENIN is the guy who came up with the term “Social Democrat” and the entire world knows where that “Slaughter everybody who doesn’t agree” policy 100% always goes.

There are very few things in this world that have a 100% success rate, but socialism is one of them. It succeeds in FAILING 100% of the time it’s been tried.

People saying they’re “Social Democrats” are just sugar coated that they want government control of everything, a.k.a communism, and that is EXACTLY what Chandelier Subway Sanders loves, admires, extols, venerates, prays at the alter of, etc. etc. etc.

There hasn’t been a communist/dictatorial regime he hasn’t sided with yet, and you can call them what ever you want; Communal Comrades; Free Bolsheviks; or Apparatchik Castroites; heck they could call themselves the “Rabbits for Rainbows and Lollypops Party”
their ideals and the policies they push are still communist.

I speak from the voice of experience that FDR’s Social Security/medicare plan was a fraud. Workers saw a huge monthly deduction called FICA. Retirees continue to pay Medicare premiums at $144.60/month. Medicare pays so little, either the doc discounts his fee or there’s a huge copay. Additional out of pocket gap insurance covers nothing if medicare denies service. Many docs in my community won’t accept patients who have only medicare insurance.
The average Soc. Sec. pension is $1477.97 mo. and the poverty line is $1063.3/mo. which is $414.67 over the poverty line. After subtracting medicare premiums and gap coverage, seniors fall below the poverty line. Here’s the shell game reveal: Social Security will be solvent until 2034 because the gov’t gutted our FICA contributions as a “free” pot of money and never returned it. The gov’t said soc. sec was exclusively designed as a pension for those who paid into it. Immediately, the gov’t began “borrowing” from it, and later implemented give away policies to those who put nothing into it…for votes. To delay bankruptcy, the govt. continues to raise the retirement age and earning ceiling. Finally, we were told our soc.sec.# would be solely used for FICA records. Lie! Soon it became a requirement for credit, banking etc. This made us vulnerable for ID theft as hackers have stolen billions from citizens and the government. Illegals are living under our stolen identities and voting. Finally, to ease your fear about cuts to social security by Trump, here is one fact: According to Bureau of Labor and Statistics, Social Security beneficiaries will see a COLA of 1.6%. while budget cuts will affect other areas over 10 yrs…..probably to keep the hemorrhaging of social security/medicare from bankruptcy in 14 years. Socialism works until you run out of other people’s money.

Socialism is communism lite, not as bad as communism but can easily slide into it. Like Venezuela for example. Chavez ruined his country by giving free stuff especially oil to Cuba. Cuba could never have survived this long with out USSR and Chavez’ backing

The only factual statement is that he’s never invented anything or owned a business. As if that matters at all. Name a single president who is a patented inventor. And what does owning a business have to do with anything?
Everything else is totally false. He held a string of jobs after graduating from college including working as a carpenter, writer, and filmmaker. He never lived off welfare. And he has written legislation that was signed into law. Once notable recent example is the Stop Bezos Act.

I have a message to all you guys who belong to the culture or cult that criticizes socialism, stativism, collectivism all the time. You also suggest that the goal of socialism is the unjust Sharia.
In your attempt to promote capitalism you provide no solution out of our destructive stativist, collectivist patterns.
A failed socialism & failed capitalism both provide destructive stativist & collectivist patterns.
Therefore it’s important not to reject collectivism & stativism per se, but to cultivate collectivism & stativism in a context, utilizing it, balancing it out with ethical patterns such as health & support for self-realization.
An example: socialism & capitalism both can ignore the important role of US english as global official language balanced with regional languages.
The result can be schools teaching all types of mandatory European languages resulting in people not having proper knowledge in US english.
Another example:
Socialism can support Muhammadist tyrannies & so can capitalism sell arms & finance Muhammadist tyrannies, what is happening now.
So the problem is not stativism or collectivism, but rather how stativism & collectivism is used in a manner that serves public health, education, life standards, healthy diet & how this collectivism & stativism is balanced to serve the individual global needs for self-realization, which is constant work, work of the government.
So cut the nonsense about how nothing but capitalism, democracy or what else just not the solution would solve the problems we have with a healthy public diet, ecology, automatization of work, voluntarization of work, adequate sleep & the elimination of Muhammadist tyrannies with their enslaving of Africans, declitorization & torture of people who reject their unjust Muhammadist-dogma.
People want the stability of socialist, stativist & collectivist patterns.
We as government should provide them to’em in an ethical manner & not demoralize society by selling weapons & missile-defense system to castrated Africans-enslaving Muhammadist tyranny Saudi Arabia & other Muhammadist tyrannies.

There have been no cuts to SS or Medicair. As far as food stamps are concerned, there have been no cuts, just people getting jobs and no longer needing them, and THAT is a good thing.

Like I said, those cuts are in the current budget proposal. That means they haven’t happened yet, but once the budget passes through Congress, it will be implemented. And yes, food stamps have already been cut.
