Leaders of the Democratic National Convention FIRED for toxic work environment

Toxic party = toxic environs.

The Democratic National Committee has suspended the president and chief of staff Milwaukee’s Democratic National Convention Host Committee, ABC affiliate WISN-TV in Milwaukee is reporting.

The DNC is investigating claims that Adam Alonso, the committee’s chief of staff, and committee president Liz Gilbert created a “toxic work environment.”

Murphy allies fired by national Democrats over toxic workplace allegation

Leaders of the host committee fired for creating a toxic work environment.

Two longtime top allies of Gov. Phil Murphy have been fired from their jobs helping organize the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee over allegations they fostered a “toxic and unstable working environment.”

Liz Gilbert and Adam Alonso — who previously worked on Murphy’s 2017 campaign and later for New Jersey’s Democratic Party — have been terminated from their posts leading the host committee for July’s convention, the committee’s board of directors said in a statement late Tuesday night.

Initially, the board said Monday it sidelined Gilbert and Alonso from their jobs as it launched an investigation after the allegations surfaced. The board said Gilbert, the committee’s president, would not be in the office and Alonso, the committee’s chief of staff, was placed on administrative leave.

On Tuesday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that the investigation was sparked after senior omen who worked on the committee sent a letter on Jan. 30 to the board saying Alonso “bullied and intimidated” them and that Gilbert “enabled” the behavior.

The board fired the pair just hours after that newspaper published that letter, ending two days of escalating drama.

The Journal Sentinel was the first to report about the firings Tuesday night.

Earlier Tuesday, NJ Advance Media reported that sources said Murphy was cutting professional ties with Alonso, who once served as the governor’s deputy chief of staff and has remained as a top adviser.

A day earlier, the New Jersey State Democratic Committee announced it severed ties with Alonso, who has continued to do consulting work for the state party even as he worked in Milwaukee.

In its statement, the Milwaukee host committee said: “Every employee has a right to feel respected in their workplace.”

“Based on the information we have learned to date, we believe the work environment did not meet the ideals and expectations of the Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee Board of Directors,” the board added in the statement, a copy of which was obtained by NJ Advance Media. “Accordingly, Liz Gilbert and Adam Alonso are no longer employed by the organization, effective immediately.”

The board said it will continue the investigation being conducted by an independent law firm. A timeline has not been set.

The move is another headache for Murphy, a Democrat who has recently faced similar allegations against his 2017 campaign. Another former adviser, Julie Roginsky, publicly accused the campaign of being marred by a misogyny and a “toxic work environment.”

Murphy’s office has so far declined comment on the allegations in Milwaukee against Gilbert and Alonso, who began leading the host committee in May 2019.

Gilbert and Alonso have not returned multiple messages from NJ Advance Media seeking comment.

But Gilbert’s attorney, Peg Schaeffer of Bernardsville, told NJ Advance Media late Tuesday night that she and Gilbert are “outraged” the board would “fire somebody based on unsubstantiated allegations.”

Schaeffer — who is also chairwoman of the Somerset County Democratic Party and interim vice chair of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee — said Gilbert spoke with an investigator earlier Tuesday.

“We were expecting to have a result that dealt with whether there was actually any basis for claims being made anonymously,” the Bernardsville-based attorney said. “Instead of dealing with her fairly, they simply fired her.”

Schaeffer said Gilbert — who was national finance director for Murphy’s 2017 campaign and later executive director of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee — is “strong leader and a strong woman.”

“It frustrates me that women in that situation who are taskmasters, they get complaints from women about working in a hostile workplace,” Schaeffer added. “Life is not as easy as we all want it to be.”

Schaeffer said Gilbert is “not in the business of suing people” but suggested she suffered “possible reputational damage.”

“She and I will talk about our next steps,” the attorney said.

Alonso told the Journal Sentinel on Monday he is proud of his team in Milwaukee and would cooperate with the investigation.

Tuesday’s ouster comes about six months before Milwaukee is set to host the 2020 Democratic National Convention, where the national party will formally pick its nominee to challenge President Donald Trump in November. The host committee is in charge of helping raise millions of dollars and hire thousands of staff members for the convention.

The entire Democratic Party IS TOXIC.

If you love America, VOTE FOR CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVE or Republican/Independent POLITICIANS that also love this country and are not undermining its greatness!

There are VERY FEW FEMALES in the work force who work well with other females. Other females always seems to be a constant threat to their positions with those females who are in Leadership positions OR who are trying to climb the Corporate ladder. I used to work with other females that were so competitive and driven, they lost their humility, integrity, and honesty. AND, they always ended up either out on the street or alienated by their co-workers.

As a (now retired) female in White Collar business, I HATED WORKING WITH OTHER WOMEN, especially those in Leadership positions and women who were overly-focused on themselves and what THEY wanted. Men were a delight. They were fair, impartial, and just wanted to do a good job while lifting up their co-workers as a TEAM endeavor. WOMEN, not so much.

No disrespect to women, but they made the worst bosses that I have ever had. I believe that it is a Men are from Mars and Women from Venus psychology. Women seem to deal with independent thinking and action badly. Everything had to be a group, and thereby alleviating any blame for failure associated to one person. They also demand respect without earning it. They are very hard workers and reliable. I think that them understanding how men are wired, would help.

Let’s hope for a 2016 repeat.
Do not get complacent. That is why Hillary lost!
Do what YOU can to make that happen in 2020.
Don’t leave it up to others.
Look how upset this one was over Hillary’s loss.
I want MORE of this for 2020!
Maybe this time they WILL leave for Canada or another country as promised!

Note to Democratic Party Members
Here in DNC Management we have decided that since we will not win the election we will instead become a rolling train wreck and self destruct!!!
Way more fun and we can drink ourselves to death like Nancy Pelosi – hey wasn’t she a hoot tearing up her SOTU copy?
She sure knows how to fight sobriety – an inspiration to us all.

“she and Gilbert are “outraged” the board would “fire somebody based on unsubstantiated allegations.” Hmmmm…wonder if they are smart enough to make the connection to “Red Flag Law”? Seems similar to me.
