The articles are unconstitutional and illegal. It’s a very good sign for Trump for other issues in the trial and for an acquittal. This vote was after hours of advocacy from both sides. Now, vote to dismiss.
President Trump Wins His First Impeachment Trial Victory as Senate Votes 53 to 47
The Democrats proposed an amendment on trial procedures and after hours of debating, it was brought to a vote and quickly slapped down

President Trump won a Senate vote on the procedures to follow for the rest of the trial.
Story continues below advertisementThis was a test vote on other issues and the president won on what seems to be a party line vote.
This bodes well for him for other issues in the trial and for an eventual acquittal. This vote was after hours of advocacy from both sides.
Dems ironically stressed a “fair trial” even they denied that kind of due process to the president in the House.
The president’s lawyers stressed that the Dems were not ready with their case because there is no case but rather a desire for revenge because they lost the 2016 race and are likely to lose the 2020 race.

As we earlier mentioned, here’s what you can expect from the defense and prosecution as the impeachment trial in the Senate continues to unfold.
The defense- The president’s defense team is aggressive and their team personifies it. They have already come out swinging in their contention that no crime was committed and thus the whole thing is a charade much like past democrat distractions and time-wasters the country has endured since 2017.
They will run into several Dem members of the Senate that want a full blown trial to cover their tails in case they decide to vote for acquittal. Given today’s vote, they won’t get it.
But the Dems know calling witnesses is a two way street and one they could get run over on very quickly if the defense calls the original whistleblower, CIA leaker Eric Ciaramella.

Looking better. You never know what idiocy lies the back of a mind of some senators. No, I never said Mitt Romney, but…
BTW, every senator who is still running, or ran, for the Democratic nomination should be told to step aside during the voting. They have an axe to grind, and are not able to be impartial as their vote could knock off the competition – unfairly.

let’s be honest, the table vote is a success but the Senate majority leader proposed to follow the process of the Senate trial of Clinton. So the Republican Senate vote is logical. Yet reassuring the 4 rogue republicans in Senate are not fools.

It is a shame that the vote was along party lines totally as it shows just how the party system in democracy fails. No democrat who disagreed (and there were some) was brave enough to stand up and vote against his/her own party as you can be certain that they would lose selection at the next election.

It should be obvious to all that the commiecrat led House did a half-ass job preparing their counterfeit case and want the GOP-led Senate to spruce it up, even going so far as to recommend what relevant documents to subpoena.
WTF, they rushed in preparing their phony Articles of Impeachment and then sat on them for a month before submitting them. What were they waiting for, Pelosi’s ceremonial pens to be ready? They had time and wasted it.
