Six Saudi nationals have been arrested after an Air Force trainee – also from Saudi Arabia – opened fire at a naval base in Florida, killing three people and injuring eight.
Story continues below advertisementThe men were detained near the scene of the shooting, which took place at Naval Air Station in Pensacola early Friday morning. It is currently unclear why they have been taken into custody.
Three of the six Saudis were seen filming the entire incident as it unfolded, a source told The New York Times on Friday evening.
No officials have yet stated whether any of them were students inside the classroom where the shooting occurred.
Authorities are probing whether the incident is terror-related.
The shooter, who was shot dead by police, was first identified by NBC News, citing unnamed sources, as Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani.
US officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation, said the suspect was a second lieutenant attending the aviation school at the base.

President Donald Trump this afternoon tweeted that he spoke on the phone with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman, who he said expressed ‘sincere condolences’ to those impacted by the shooting.
Trump added that King Salman informed him the Saudi people love Americans and ‘are greatly angered by the barbaric actions of the shooter…’
Shortly before 8pm Eastern Time, Saudi officials condemned the shooting and claimed they are willing to cooperate with the investigation.
The shooter opened fire in a classroom building shortly before 7am Friday. The attack left four people dead, including the assailant, and eight others wounded.
Florida news outlets, citing sources, on Friday afternoon identified the suspected gunman as Saudi second lieutenant Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani and released this photo that purports to show the alleged shooter (pictured by NBC 6 South Florida)

During an afternoon press briefing, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis confirmed the shooter was from Saudi Arabia, which has long relied on the US to train it military officers.
‘There’s obviously going to be a lot of questions about this individual being a foreign national, being a part of the Saudi air force and then to be here training on our soil,’ DeSantis told reporters.
‘Obviously the government of Saudi Arabia needs to make things better for these victims. And I think they are going to owe a debt here given that this is one of their individuals.’
Of the 19 men involved in the September 11 attacks, 15 were Saudi and some of them attended flight school in Florida.
In recent weeks, 18 naval aviators and two aircrew members from the Royal Saudi Naval Forces were training with the US Navy, including at Pensacola, according to a November 15 press release from the Navy. It was not clear if the suspected shooter was part of that delegation.
The delegation came under a Navy program that offers training to US allies, known as the Naval Education and Training Security Assistance Field Activity.
A person familiar with the program said that Saudi Air Force officers selected for military training in the United States are intensely vetted by both countries.

Considering the many attacks on the West from this ideology, one would think that the ideology would be prohibited from visiting and/or living anywhere in the West. It is NOT a religion, but is a political ideology.

Someone need to wake up Donald Trump to realities of Islam and Muslims, and then he has to wake up to the reality of this ‘ally’. Trump is the best option you have right now, but as you point out, even he is beholden to the Saudis. This comes at quite a price, first the mental acrobatics in order to dodge around the Saudi’s murder of their journalist in their embassy in Istanbul, Turkey, now pretending that Saudis love Americans after one of their haters murdered 3 Americans and the idiotic pretence that Islam is “a religion of peace” when clearly evident it is an ideology of hatred, intolerance and bigotry.
No doubt the President is doing this in order to have an ally in the Middle East to counter Iran, but what a price it is letting in thousands of individuals who have no intention of assimilating and have every intention of imposing Islam wherever they go while the Saudis fund building of mosques all over in order to spread their trash ideology that they pass off as a religion.

No matter what any investigation into this heinous act
discovers, the outstanding fact is that this incident speaks directly to the
problems that this world faces from the belief system that is Islam. Whether the
shooter was radicalized or not, the proof that stands out is that the Islamic
belief system is directly and dramatically the reason for this heinous conduct.
To not recognize that reality is to be blind to the obvious. I am somewhat
disappointed with the President’s commentary which involved passing along an
apology for the Saudi’s. While he should have just stated that he was mortified
by this event, and so stated his feelings to the Saudi King, it almost comes
out as if he is poo-pooing the event. While I continue to support our President
as he is a much better choice than what the Democrats are putting up, I am continually
mystified by some of his rhetoric. The Islamic world is simply not to be
trusted, as after they are finished with the Jews, they will come after all of
the others out there. Unless we begin to really take serious their threat, we
are blinding ourselves to the fact that they ultimately intend to dominate and
slit our throats. They hate us, and that will never change.

Blame falls on the DOD, Congress, Governor/Congress of Florida and the Mayor/City Council of that county, and overall, the blame and responsibility falls on the people of Florida for allowing these traitors of their state, to remain in office. Let us never forget that the Saudi’s are our enemy. We only have a temporary alliance because of the greater threat of Iran. After 911 the country would have been receptive to the idea of stopping all Muslim immigration and deporting the ones here. Instead, Bush has to give us the ridiculous story of Islam being the “religion of peace” and actually allowing more of the violent, low IQ welfare parasites in. Obama continued what Bush started and here we are today. I will always maintain Bush was an even worse president than Obama. He got thousands of men killed in wars that actually made things worse, spent trillions of dollars that nearly plunged us into a depression and allowed someone like Obama to be elected, further eroding our freedom and destroying the country. Old George was not a lot better either and Jeb! would have been even worse than young George. I hate every member of the family, by blood or marriage. Thank G-d Trump exposed Jeb! for the total loser he was. and is.

There are NO innocent Muslims. IF they call themselves Muslims, then they follow the Quran.
And, if they follow the Quran, their destiny is to destroy NON-MUSLIMS.
This means, Muslims want to destroy YOU AND ME, THE INFIDEL.
ISLAM is the direct opposite of our U.S. Constitution.
There are absolutely NO FREEDOMS IN ISLAM. NONE. Males have the most amount of freedom over women, children, and non-Muslims. IMAMs have total control over Muslim men, women, and children. IT IS A DICTATORSHIP.

Some of the 9/11 hijackers had their visas approved by crazy John Brennan when he was CIA station chief in Saudi Arabia.
CIA employees go overseas under a State Dept. cover…which means they pretend to work for the State Dept.
These are the people “vetting” the Saudis.

A relative of my wife, having flown military aircraft in post-Vietnam war Pacific theater.
He taught at the Florida aviation school when the 9-11 hijackers were learning to fly, but not willing to learn how to take off and land. He communicated his concerns to his supervisor, but nothing was done.
Hindsight is 20-20. He regrets not contacting the authorities.
