A top French official told the Associated Press that French President Emmanuel Macron, who is hosting the summit, decided to invite Zarif to Biarritz after a Saturday night dinner with world leaders including President Trump.
At the dinner there were tense exchanges over how to deal with Iran’s nuclear program following Trump’s decision to leave the Iran nuclear deal, which had been negotiated by the Obama administration.
France and the other countries still part of the agreement – including Great Britain, Germany and the European Union – have been trying to salvage it.
Zarif will hold meetings on the sidelines of the G-7, starting with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
A top French official did not rule out another meeting between Zarif and Marcon.
Iran’s top diplomat and the French president had already met Friday.
No meetings are currently planned between Zarif and the Americans.
Trump was asked about reports that Zarif was coming and if he planned to meet with him as he and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe were announcing Sunday that a trade deal framework had been agreed upon between the U.S. and Japan.
“No comment,” Trump answered.

While weasels like Macron, Trudea and the EU Marxist cheerleader, Merkel have their economies tank, they use the G7 as a social justice platform and promote perversion, Trump is focused and busy making trade deals.
In essence Titan Trump is engaged in a process of:
(a) repatriating wealth (trade policy);
(b) blocking ex filtration of wealth (main street policy);
(c) creating new and modern economic alliances based on reciprocity (bilateral deals); and
(d) dismantling the post WWII Marshall plan of global trade and one-way tariffs (de-globalization).

Of course, there’s the infamous case of Mary Jane Le Tourneau and her Samoan student/lover and, eventually, husband up in Seattle. In fact, that scandalous union remained more or less in tact for many years (but not sure if they ever had children together). However, in time (and, if memory serves, not that long ago), they finally split, and I don’t know what happened to either one of them after that.
