Perhaps a more apt analogy would comparing Pope Francis to Pius XII, “Hitler’s pope”, who failed to publicly to condemn the genocide of Europe’s Jews. History will not be kind to Pop Francis’s support of the hijrah, his silence in condemning the Islamic genocide of Christians in Africa and the Middle East or the jihad against the Jews.

Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister, whose slogan is ‘Italians first,’ pulled support for the coalition government and called for snap elections on Thursday.
Salvini had urged for a ‘sovereignist’ right-wing front to challenge the EU in European elections earlier this year.
The pope warned, in an interview published in La Stampa on Friday, that ‘sovereignism reveals an attitude toward isolation’ and compared increasing nationalism to Adolf Hitler’s rise to power in the 1930s.

‘I am concerned because we hear speeches that resemble those of Hitler in 1934. “Us first, We… We…” These are frightening thoughts,’ the pope told the Turin paper.
The 82-year-old pontiff lived through years of right-wing dictatorship in his native Argentina.
Ahead of the EU elections in May, Salvini reached out in his bid for a ‘sovereignist’ alliance to France’s far-right party leader Marine Le Pen and Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Far-right parties performed strongly in those polls.
‘Sovereignty must be defended, but relations with other countries, with the European community must also be protected and promoted,’ the pope said.
He did not mention Salvini or any other specific cases in Europe.
‘Sovereignism is an exaggeration that always ends badly: it leads to war’.
Salvini called on Thursday for a snap election in Italy, after falling out with the populist M5S party, his partners in the current coalition government.

Opinion polls indicate that Salvini and his popular far-right League party would comfortably win an election in the coming months.

Pope Benedict had it right about what is happening in Europe and then mysteriously had to resign. The first time a Pope has ever resigned in history.

Pope Pius was not Hitler’s pope. And he COMMANDED Catholics save Jews, saving so many in fact, that after the war one of Israel’s first acts was to give Pope Pius a special award.
Part of why Pius had to mind his public comments was because of location, being stuck in Italy under Mussolini. Hitler and Mussolini were just looking for an excuse to invade the Vatican, and if Pope Pius had been careless in public, they would have had what they needed to charge in.
Pope Pius was running sort of an underground railroad and if I remember right, sheltered thousands of Jews on Church property while working to get them passports to safety.
It’s been several years since I read the stuff on this, and must admit I fell for Cornwell’s malarkey too…
Until I did some digging myself.
Even the picture on the cover was “Disinformation.”
For some solid info to dispel this Hitler’s Pope bit, read “Disinformation” by General Ion Pacepa, the highest ranking soviet officer ever to defect.
Because Pope Pius condemned all forms of Socialism as evil, Stalin HATED the man, and after Pope Pius’s death, began the disinformation campaign to shred his image.
Just like muslims are doing to Israel right now.
Pacepa’s book isn’t the only material on this matter, but I found it one of the best because, apart from showing how Pope Pius was trashed, he explained about Stalin’s propaganda machine for destroying good men.
Pope Frank here, on the other hand, unless it’s shown in the future he was willing to endure public trashing so he could save Coptic Christians, Jews and whomever from muslime persecution, via his underground railroad…

A lot of Jewish people still labor under the deception that Pope Pius XII was complicit in helping the Nazi’s. Everyone needs to remember being the Pope of Roman Catholics his first concern would be Roman Catholics especially in Germany. He had to help the Jewish people without endangering his own people. Still the Nazi’s murdered at least 15,000 Roman Catholic clergy throughout Europe. Yes there were Nazis in the Roman Catholic Church, but not the Pope. The Church did its best to eliminate these Nazi’s. Even the priests that helped Nazi officers flee Europe were eventually caught and defrocked.

First off, what are your information sources?
“Hitler’s Pope” by Cornwell for example, has been proven over and over to be a pack of lies, but people still drag it out as proof.
Same with the supposedly factual basis for Dan Brown’s “The Da Vinci Code.”
Second, I like history too. And tech and science and politics and whatnot. I’m not an info nerd, I’m an info junkie, and I’ll have to admit, I bought into Cornwell’s stuff too, until I began digging around.
Third, the mess of the Church have not been because of Church teaching. It’s because of PEOPLE distorting and twisting the faith. Just look at what someone like James Martin preaches. Or Dolan. And what Stalin did to infiltrate the priesthood with homosexual men.
Then look at how CM is exposing that, dragging it all out and forcing the world to deal with it.
Fourth, for all “Religion’s” faults, countries with no religion, have, without exception, become slaughterhouses; genocidal regimes that consider rape and theft and murder as perfectly acceptable ways to control the people.
Religion in general, for all it’s “warts,” is far more preferable to the atheistic state, because without fail, in a godless country men decide to PLAY God.

I don’t believe the slander against Pius XII. The Myth of Hitler’s Pope by Rabbi David G. Dalin is a good read and there are numerous other sources which point to the exact opposite conclusion than that he sided with the Nazis against the Jews. “The Pope’s efforts to help Italian Jews, by sheltering them in religious houses, forging baptismal certificates, and dressing Jews in cassocks, saved an estimated 700,000” for example seems to support this conclusion.
