The Anti-Jewish Boycott Scores Victories on Campuses, But University Presidents Refuse to Boycott Israel

9

But what happens when these students become the presidents of these universities? Will pro-Israel Jewish students be banned? Much of the pro-Israel Jewish establishment (AIPAC in particular) has done an appallingly bad job in advocating for Israel and confronting the anti-Semitic Democrat Party.

Much of the pro-Israel Jewish leadership is just not accustomed to this kind of warfare and is simply at a loss as to how to fight the BDS movement and the Democrat Party.

A strong and well funded pro-Israel organization is desperately needed in the United States. One that knows how to fight a war.

“BDS on Campus Scores Victories but University Presidents Refuse to Boycott Israel,” by Alexander Joffe, SPME, March 28, 2019.

As the spring semester progresses BDS campus BDS activities have ramped up sharply, albeit with mixed results, with faculty now taking leading roles against university administrations. The continuing antisemitism crisis in Congress, however, shows how the BDS movement has contributed to shifting overall public perceptions, making boycotts and even Israel’s ‘existence’ viable questions instead of absurdities. BDS and its antisemitism have spread widely and have capitalized on the anti-Trump ‘resistance,’ opposition to ‘white supremacy,’ and increasingly, allegations that complaints about antisemitism are ‘Islamophobic.’ The spiral of division in American politics and culture shows no sign of abating.

Analysis

BDS on campus increased sharply in March. The most consequential move was the decision by a mixed faculty-student body at Pitzer College to end its semester abroad program with the University of Haifa. The campaign was led by faculty members over the objections of the university administration and students. During the lead up to the final vote the voting body limited the number of students who could participate in the vote and excluded a campus media outlet that had been critical of the campaign. Representative Rashida Tlaib also expressed support for the proposal.

In the aftermath, the university president, who had spoken out strongly against the proposal, announced that he would disregard the vote, which produced outrage from BDS supporters. The campaign was clearly designed to create a confrontation between the faculty and the administration, challenging traditions of faculty governance and invoking questions of ‘academic freedom.’

The Pitzer vote is prima facie evidence of intent to discriminate on the basis of ethnic and national origin. Like the case of the University of Michigan faculty who announced they would not write letters of recommendation for students to study in Israel, the Pitzer vote implies that individual faculty members are already discriminating against students covertly.

This next younger generation is going to be a real doozy. We have submissive politically correct emotional morons!
They are easy to control when they do’t have knowledge ad critical thinking skills. They appear to be determined to destroy our country. They do not understand what they are doing because they were taught discrimination against white people, Jews and Christians is good and MARXISM is the new ideal.

Education disaster? Common Core has given us snowflakes instead of students
Apr 2, 2019 by Fox News
By Lauren DeBellis Appell

But while it’s been a disaster academically, from an agenda-driven perspective Common Core has been a huge win for the politically correct propaganda being peddled.

Want proof? Look no further than any college campus over the past couple of years: the rejection of free speech and violent attempts to stifle it; the embrace of socialism out of pure ignorance by a generation who can’t even define it; and the complete lack of tolerance and unwillingness to engage in a civil debate with those who embrace center-right ideas.

All while running for the nearest “safe space” when something offends them.

Common Core has given us snowflakes instead of students. Screams and protests have become their coping mechanisms. And the lack of high-quality secondary education coupled with indoctrination has undoubtedly contributed to this disaster.

The real tragedy is that so much money has been spent by politicians lying to us at the expense of our kids’ education to promote their indoctrination.

Before Common Core was even written, President Obama promised it would “not only make America’s entire education system the envy of the world, but we will launch a ‘Race to the Top’ that will prepare every child, everywhere in America, for the challenges of the 21st century.”

“Race to the Top” was a catchy phrase his administration tagged to a grant attached to a $4 billion carrot they dangled in front of states to sucker them into adopting Common Core and its “tougher” academic standards. The carrot initially worked. Forty-six states bought into Common Core – but fast forward to 2019 and 11 of those states are running for the nearest exit.

Turns out the amazing race to the top we were promised isn’t so amazing after all. Not unlike President Obama’s promise that if we liked our doctor we could keep our doctor.

Common Core has infiltrated both our public and private schools over the last several years and has left parents in the dust, scrambling for reinforcements to help them solve otherwise simple math problems.

For example, simple multiplication, addition and subtraction problems can no longer be learned from the back of flashcards. You must now show how you arrived at the answer. For example, lest you think that 5×3 is merely just 15, you’d be wrong unless you add fives and add threes and show why it’s 15. Silly me, I always thought the whole point of multiplication was that it helped to circumvent endless addition.

It’s all led to needlessly prolonged homework times, frustrated children and equally frustrated parents who are keeping Google, Siri and Alexa working overtime. To what end?

Turns out the return on investment isn’t what we were promised. Not only has embracing these new academic standards not made our kids more prepared, but it’s done the opposite — it’s made them even less prepared.

Last year’s ACT scores were revealing. Students were the least prepared for English at a college level since ACT started keeping track in 2002. They had the lowest levels in math in two decades. And English scores declined since 2007.

While student achievement is going downhill, here’s what is on the rise thanks to Common Core — indoctrination.

How on earth can screwing up basic math concepts possibly be linked to indoctrinating our kids? Have no fear, they found a way.

The mandatory taxpayer-funded conferences that teachers are required to attend now often include Common Core. However, rather than keeping their workshops focused on education, the platform has been used to promote politically correct propaganda.

The organization UnboundEd, for instance, fuels the flames of racial injustice and inequality under the guise of Common Core. At a conference last year, UnboundEd CEO Kate Gerson reportedly told teachers, “If you are under the impression that there are good white people and bad white people, you’re wrong.”

Fun fact: Gerson was an early creator of the Common Core-compliant curriculum that’s now available all over the country.

This is what happens when government is put in charge: 5×3 no longer equals 15 and good white people + bad white people = all white people bad.

As with most things the government hijacks, this entire experiment began as a way for the government to ultimately have more control over not just our kids’ education, but over our kids’ thinking and ideals. We’ve been played.

Make BDS a criminal offense or this will continue

Trump was conned by Abbas initially but when he found out the truth boy was he mad as hell at the jihadi http://bit.ly/2rOmfyJ

That’s when he decided enough is enough and that inspite of huge opposition led to shifting of Embassy to Jerusalem and No more funding to the jihadis.

The college BDS-movement is symptomatic of a radical left ideology that now infests many US universities. The left has highjacked education in America. The only way to stop these institutions from indoctrinating your children with leftist ideology like BDS is to end govt-guaranteed student loans without any control over tuition costs. Private universities pay no taxes, have no constraints over the tuition they charge yet much of their income is guaranteed by the tax payer. This is what you get when govt meddles in the private sector. A bad system that spits out poorly educated propagandists like AOC.

Agreed. When politics is infused into various aspects of our lives, there is always a negative consequence. When allowed to infiltrate education, you get indoctrination, in religion you get terrorism, in sports you get societal division and alienation, in entertainment you get cultural erosion, and in law enforcement you get tyranny.

The list is endless.

Marxist indoctrination is the norm in US education. Children are trained to be communist. Very strange that this is being allowed.

How effective can a boycott be when it is overpopulated by college students who are up to their ass in debt and so broke they couldn’t buy a sick whore a drink?

The left’s alliance with Islam is a failed marriage. But it will do much damage to many people before it ends.
