This is so horrible. And it is entirely the fault of the left. Jewish organizations in the United States are preoccupied with the rise of the “far right” and “white supremacism,” to which they attribute the rise in anti-Semitism. Yet they ignore what is the much larger threat: the growing anti-Semitism of the left, and the ingrained and violent Jew-hatred that is inherent in Islamic texts and teachings. The much greater threat to the Jews comes from the left and its Islamic allies today, but to speak about that makes one a “racist-islamophobic-anti-Muslim-bigot.” The leftist Jewish establishment won’t see the left’s anti-Semitism, or Islam’s, until it is far too late.
“‘You Could See the Hatred’: Eyewitness Alleges Shocking Verbal Assault on Orthodox Jewish Family by Spirit Airlines Flight Attendant,” by Ben Cohen, Algemeiner, January 10, 2019:
An Orthodox Jew who traveled with his wife and small children on Tuesday on board a Spirit Airlines flight from Newark to Fort Lauderdale was allegedly described as “that retarded Jew” by a member of the cabin crew, following an argument over whether a seat for his one-month-old baby was permitted on board the aircraft.
Story continues below advertisementA fellow passenger on the early-morning flight told The Algemeiner on Thursday that he had overheard the flight attendant complaining about the family to a colleague, angrily referring to the father as “that retarded Jew” during the course of his rant.
The alleged antisemitic barb came at the height of a nightmare journey for the family that culminated in them being forcibly escorted off the plane by two armed police officers and two Spirit Airlines representatives upon landing in Florida.
Their experience was made public on Thursday morning by former New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind, who represented the Brooklyn district where the family lives for 35 years before retiring last month.
In an account of their journey provided to Hikind, the couple — who were traveling with their three-year-old and two-year-old daughters, in addition to the baby — said that they had been given permission by a gate agent at Newark Airport to take the baby seat on board after demonstrating that it also functioned as a car seat.
But after buckling the baby into her car seat and taking their own seats on the plane, a female flight attendant informed the couple that the seat was not permitted on board after all. During the argument that followed, a male flight attendant, described by the eyewitness to the incident as white and in his late 20s, reportedly ordered the father to “shut up,” while insisting that the baby had to be unbuckled from her seat — an instruction with which the family complied.
“It was painful to see,” the eyewitness said in a telephone interview. “It was a young couple with three little kids. They were just out to get them. It was disgusting.”
The eyewitness said the male flight attendant had become particularly enraged, encouraging the other cabin staff to round on the family. “I saw how it became personal, how the steward was trying to make a whole fight out of it,” the eyewitness said. “He was trying to get the other staff on his side to say, ‘No, we’re not gonna give in,’ even though they’d been told the baby seat was allowed on the plane.”
During the flight, it was the same male attendant who referred to the father as “that retarded Jew” while speaking about the family with a colleague, said the eyewitness, who had been sitting at the back of the plane near the cabin galley.
“It was like they were out to get them. It was antisemitism,” the eyewitness added. “The guy was full of hatred. You could see it.”
Unfortunately for the family, that was not the last altercation of the flight. When the father attempted to take the two-year-old on his lap alongside the children’s mother, he was ordered back to his seat by the same male steward, who cited airline safety regulations that forbid five people from sitting in a three-seat row. According to the account provided to Hikind, the father “readily complied and returned to his seat.”
But when the plane landed, the other passengers were prevented from disembarking for half an hour so that the family could be forcibly escorted off the plane by the police officers and ground staff. When the couple asked what crime they had committed and whether they were under arrest, they were told that they “had not been wearing seat belts.” The staff then informed the couple that they were henceforth banned from flying on Spirit Airlines, telling the stunned pair, in a parting shot, to “find another flight home.” That same evening, the couple got in touch with Hikind and relayed what had occurred.
“What happened with this family was outrageous,” Hikind told The Algemeiner on Thursday. “When they were taken off the plane, a husband and wife and their three little kids all crying, they were not told what they did wrong. They were not arrested. And then, when they were told, it’s because of the seat belts. It’s ridiculous.”
Asked Hikind: “Was this something that warranted two police officers and two agents of the airline and keeping the other passengers back for a half-hour? It was traumatic for this family. What happened here was unconscionable.”
Hikind said the flight attendant’s bigoted comment about “that retarded Jew” was “what crossed the line for me, and that’s why we went public with the whole picture.”…

WOW! It’s tough enough traveling with young children and then have this happen. I would imagine the children were very upset too. With our last one we used a car seat and buckled her into a separate plane seat. That is perfectly legal. With our youngest we went a step further and had a small container of jelly to dip a pacifier in to not have her cry when the plane ascended and descended. It forced her to swallow and she loved the taste of it.
I’ll never forget this. On a flight, a row ahead on the opposite side in an aisle seat was a NYT reporter. He kept looking back and glaring at our youngest buckled in the car seat. The hate was incredible towards her. I finally got up and quietly had a few words with him about that. He stopped it but the hate just oozed out of him. It was a trip to Europe. She was quiet and didn’t bother anyone. I can’t imagine how terrible this family felt, the injustice and the embarrassment.
Some people may say well I’m not Jewish – who cares! The next time it could be you or someone you care about. I wonder about the ethnicity or race of the ugly plane attendant. It could also be a white lefty. I hope others come forward and stick up for this family. Maybe someone recorded it. What happened is atrocious.

I just went to Spirit’s website and sent them an email about how disappointed I am in them… I’ve been in the travel business for 47 years and this is the worst case of flight attendant abuse of passengers I’ve heard of… I wonder if they will reply???

I agree Spirit Airlines prices are fantastic BUT NO ONE should be treated like this.
I want that flight attendant fired, suspended w/o pay, until an investigation is done.

There is absolutely NO defense of what the male flight attendant did. The family was a customer. I have been in customer service all my life, working for myself, I had to be. I have never treated a customer this way no matter what the customer did or said. There does not need to be a long investigation. fire the offending employee AND file a lawsuit. Why did they have to forcibly removed from the plane? Try this with a muzzie. Even if they were shouting “allahu akbar” noting would be done to them. I have had enough of this bullshit.

Fire the attendants, the eyewitness said they were all in on it, put their names and pictures out there for the world to see, file a massive lawsuit against them personally (along with criminal charges for endangering the baby, hate speech and antisemitic action) AND the company, including its directors, etc.
Bankrupt the f*cking airline, and its owners.
Do this to every company who treats Jewish customers like this, they need to learn we aren’t living in 1930’s germany anymore.

I’m a little surprised none of the other passengers (according to the story), stood up for the family. It seems, if the flight attendant’s behavior was so egregious, someone could have stepped in and tried to act on their behalf. Were the other passengers so scared if they spoke up, they too would be thrown off the plane? If so, that says a lot.

I am appalled by the bullying, racial hatred and mistreatment of this Jewish family,
at the hands of the spirit airlines staff. I believe this qualifies as a hate-crime.
I will now make sure we fly Southwest, when possible…………….or any other airline,
for that matter. We will NEVER fly spirit again.
I sympathize greatly with this family as I have been mistreated by airline staff
(flight-attendants) when I used to travel for business. At that time United Airlines
was awful and I advised my travel-planner to never book me on United again.
Never flew United after that.

There is no indication in this report, or in another account posted elsewhere – whether or not the passengers were given the go-ahead to take off seat belts. Since it was a short flight, maybe they had to remain seated. I take airlines on longer flights, and after the plane reaches cruising speed, passengers can take off seat belts and move around the cabin, until the message to put on seat belts is flashed on the message screen. If the father moved seats because the go-ahead was given to remove seat belts, they should not have been reprimanded for this. Regardless, the behavior was mean and discriminatory. One wonders what ”spirit’ the company is named for.

I got the same at a Canadian hospital in Rainy River.. The hate spewing out of the muslim attending me was beyond belief! I guess I was lucky he did not stick a knife in my neck. He works in the emergency ward, and is likely still there. Look for Mohammed there. Listen for “filthy Jew” under his breath..
