Florida College That Supported Jihad Jew-Hating Muslim Professor Upholds Christian Ban

77

Universities are now re-education recruitment centers for radical leftism — anti-American, anti-Judeo/Christian — pro-jihad. Much the way Temple University this week stood by vile antisemitic professor Marc Lamont Hill when he called for the annihilation of the Jewish state.

Why are taxpayers footing the bill for this? We are funding an army of idiots who are working to overthrow freedom and our very way of life.

Orlando based Rollins College has maintained a ban on several Christian organizations, citing non-discrimination rules, just a year after protecting a Muslim professor’s attack on a Christian student.

In 2017 Central Florida Post exposed Rollins professor Areej Zufari for crafting an elaborate plot to punish a Christian student for challenging her in class.

Story continues below advertisement

During a discussion on the implementation of Sharia Law in the United States, student Marshall Polston spoke out after another student suggested gays be put to death and that Sharia Law should absolutely be upheld in the United States. Polston also clashed with the professor of the core tenets of Christianity, which lead to a revenge grade and suspension pushed by Zufari.

The Central Florida Post exposed the professor for filing a false report claiming the Christian student was skulking around in a bush after being banned from campus and unearthed court documents that showcased how Professor Zufari radicalized the children of a former lover.  Other information surfaced and documented her history of defending calls for the extermination of Jews. It was a hot mess.

For the duration of the scandal, which was first uncovered and investigated exclusively by the Central Florida Post, campus President Grant Cornwell led a campus-wide defense of the Professor’s demented actions. Rollins College accused myself and others calling attention to the inappropriate behavior of Professor Zufari as “hateful.”

After our coverage however, the school became flooded with phone calls of support for the student and demands that Zufari be fired, garnering tens of thousands of inbound communications to the school administration thanks to Act for America’s Scott Pressler. Polston was reinstated, and the controversial professor resigned. At no point did any prominent campus leader whine about discrimination or hateful behavior in respect to the professor’s collegiate angst against the Christian student

On Thursday, the campus controlled newspaper The Sandspur, reported that the school is upholding a nearly six-year old rule banning conservative Christian groups from campus. The ban was enacted when a former Christian campus organization did not allow a gay student to compete for leadership elections.

In response, the organization was decertified by Rollins College for violating the campuses “non-discrimination” policies. The club in question argued that their rules required a statement of faith for board members and that would prohibit members embracing the LGBT lifestyle from fulfilling and thus being able to stand for elections. Members could remain, but were not able to stand for election as a club leader.

Recently, a conservative Christian group called Cru, garnered student support and submitted an appeal regarding the Christian ban. They have similar rules regulating club leadership.

When you participate in leadership elections for organizations, there are often ethics or morals clauses. For example, members of the local GOP have to sign loyalty oaths stating they will not challenge or attack fellow Republicans while holding membership.

If you aren’t abiding by the rules set forth for a club on campus, go start your own. More importantly, it is  highly hypocritical that the whole of Rollins College faculty and administrative leaders who supported an Islamist’s crooked attacks on a student, are now crowing about “non-discrimination” policies.

Another glaring example that alleged discriminatory behavior coming from conservative Christians is a bigger problem than documented attacks on a Christian student from a  radical professor.

The double standards and hypocrisy remain rampant at Rollins College. You would have thought they learned their lesson last year, apparently not. Instead, upholding a rule that is meant to stop discrimination, and in turn discriminates against conservative Christians, is what the top brass at Rollins College are focused on.

Shame.

ALL federal money needs to be cut for universities and colleges that discriminated and they should be prosecuted.
Don’t hold your breathe waiting for that to happen! by not enforcing our laws and rights, by default we are becoming lawless and arbitrary when we do enforce laws and rights.

Amendment I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

The LEFT owns the majority of academia. My last one is at a university right now. Prior to this all, went to private Christian schools. Each noticed the HUGE bias. My last one is seeing the BIAS at a level the others did not experience. It is not an exaggeration to say this is just like Hitler’s brown shirt youth school.

I have some long time friends that are Buddhist. Never a problem. I have Jewish friends, some quite close. Never a problem. I know a few Hindus. Aside from their murdering Christians, in India, those in the West are very nice, friendly, professional people. Never a problem. I could say the same about Roman Catholics. Not a problem.
Atheists are constantly proselytizing and very argumentative. I’ve never said anything against their Religion of Atheism. That’s their religion and no big deal. However, many (definitely not all) seem very argumentative, even when the subject of religion hasn’t arisen, they’ll bring it up. Obviously, they’re not nearly as bad as moslems, but many are simply not civil.

I have experienced atheists who bring up the topic of religion. They seem to be totally compelled to ‘educate’ all the Christians and Jews on how wrong and stupid they are for their beliefs. They never seem to miss an opportunity to do so. Like they must continually convince themselves THEY are the enlightened ones.

Almost like the Navigators, student union, back in the early seventies, “Do you have a minute?” The only difference is that the Navigators were always polite, if you told them no, they always thanked you anyway. Those that follow the Religion of Atheism get downright insulting. I remember informing a follower of the religion (Atheism) that interrupting is exceedingly rude and a sign of exceptionally poor breeding; showing how their parents raised them, reflecting directly on them (parents).

Sorry, but this article is making a rather bizarre and backwards argument in favor of discriminating against gay students. The fact that the school administration mistakenly defended a bigotted Muslim professor (for obvious cowardly political reasons) is no reason to defend organized “Christian” bigotry. People can hold whatever beliefs they choose in the US but a US university should never support discrimination based on sex or sexual orientation, race, etc., by any individual or group.

Achmed Mohandjob

Any gay individual is free to join any of those organizations. They are simply not allowed to hold leadership positions; as in the organizations, in question, leadership pledges/takes a vow to not commit certain sins (what those student groups determine to be “sins”). Adultery and pre-marital sex are also disqualifiers … Is that “… organized ‘Christian’ bigotry”?

RCCA
RCCA

Just because a person is gay doesn’t mean they are necessarily sexually active or engaging in premarital sex. By banning a gay person from a leadership position that is using their identity, not their behavior, as the qualifying factor. That’s discriminatory.

I believe that one of the banned organizations simply asked the homosexual, that wanted to run for office, to take the vow against pre-marital sex, swear an oath of such. He refused to do so. It was not a pledge to not engage in homosexual activity, forever, simply as long as he held an officer position.

RCCA
RCCA

I didn’t see that mentioned anywhere in the article. Where did you see that? I suspect that a very conservative Christian group would not approve of gay marriage so I am surprised and doubtful that they were only opposing pre-marital relations by a prospective gay leader.

That was in a previous article, reported on this site (Geller Report). The individual that wanted to run for office claimed that he was not a Christian. Supposedly, he was an activist that was attempting to raise issues. That article stated that, when placing his name for nomination, he refused to take the pledge, as that would be restraining his lifestyle. Same college, same ban. That was the reason given for Rollins College banning all religious “clubs”. I believe that article was posted around a year ago.

RCCA
RCCA

The point is that the school wants their student clubs to be open to everyone — because it’s a learning environment. That’s not a bad policy.

According to Rollins University President Lewis Duncan: “Officials at Rollins maintain that college-affiliated student groups should not exclude any students. All 112 of the school’s remaining student organizations have incorporated Rollins’ anti-discrimination policy into their constitutions.

College officials pointed out that this past year, the president of Rollins’ Latin American Student Association was an Asian-American student and the Muslim Student Association president was not Muslim.

‘The message that should send is that students of all faith traditions who are interested in open, free inquiry would find this a very welcoming place and that no one is excluded under that shared, open inquiry on the basis of their race, ethnicity, religion or orientation,’ Duncan said.”

“… Duncan said that though InterVarsity is no longer a college-affiliated group at Rollins, it can still rent space at college events and buy advertising in school publications. Students are still allowed to meet on campus for Bible studies and other religious activities, although not under the auspices of the organization and without the oversight of officials from InterVarsity.” http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2013-03-07/features/os-rollins-college-boots-religious-group-20130307_1_student-leaders-rollins-college-rollins-president-lewis-duncan

IOW, the conservative Christians can still have a club but it will not be sponsored by the school. That’s fair.

There should be NO extracurricular activities that are college funded. NONE. If there is value, let ’em pay for it themselves.

Going back to the original story. The homosexual that caused the uproar WAS a member of the club. It’s just that those running for an officer position had to take the abstention pledge. The homosexual refused. The heterosexuals did not. No one demanded that he not be a homosexual. Nor were there demands for him to not engage in homosexual activity, once his term of office was complete. Just while an officer, ALL swore to abstain, if not married. I believe there was a host of other things to which they pledged, as well. He refused, claiming anti-homosexual bias.

RCCA
RCCA

Yeah, but the whole point is that no sponsored club at the university is allowed to discriminate in any way. So the pledge was wrong to begin with, that’s why the club lost its sponsorship.

Achmed Mohandjob
Achmed Mohandjob

It didn’t discriminate against homosexuals. That homosexual, a member and an avowed follower of the Religion of Atheism, refused to take the same pledge that heterosexuals take, male or female. There should be NO university sponsored organizations. How is that discrimination? If another member, running for office, male or female, refused to take the pledge they, also, would have been not eligible for a post.
There should be no college sponsored club. NONE!

Call me crazy but I don’t get why they would want to join a group that doesn’t believe like they do unless it’s just to cause an uproar or get some attention. Why would a non-Muslim want to be the president of a Muslim group? Same for the LASA. Just saying………

RCCA

Reply to  Janet

I don’t know why anyone would want to join a Muslim club. It’s certainly the right of people and a great opportunity to explore different ideas in a university. Someone who wants to meet Muslims and learn something about them personally and socially might want to join a college Muslim club. Just like someone who is not Jewish might want to meet Jews and learn a little about their customs, etc., someone who is not a Christian might want to meet Christians, etc. A person who is popular and has an outgoing personality might be willing to serve as the president of a campus club.

I think the mistake you and others seem to be making is that you assume and believe that clubs exist only to advance an agenda and that members must be adherents of that agenda. I think the opposite is actually true, that the clubs are mostly social and informal ways of meeting people and learning about topics not studied formally in class.

Not sure why the false report wouldn’t be equivalent to filing a false police report? It would likely be filed or directed to campus security, which on campus would be the police force.

Certainly, I would think the student could file a defamation suit against the professor or teacher in civil court for damages. Likely it would involve costs such as tuition or the costs of attending the college.

If he couldn’t get into a regular court, likely he could at least get a hearing in small claims court, which might go up to a thousand dollars or so. I’m not sure what the money limits on small claims court is these days.

Trump’s Search For Education Secretary Narrows To Two Candidates By Molly Hensley-Clancy Trump campaigned on a promise to repeal the Common Core — though it is not a federal law. The conservative Federalist proclaimed, “Michelle Rhee Would Be a Terrible Choice for Education Secretary,” largely because of her Common Core stance. But DeVos may have a few black marks of her own, making her unlikely to please Trump’s most ardent right-wing supporters. Though she now says she’s opposed to the Common Core, she once advocated for it alongside Jeb Bush, one of Trump’s biggest foes. And as a DC insider and large-scale donor to the Trump campaign, her hiring may be a liability for an administration that has promised to “drain the swamp” of Washington. https://www.buzzfeed.com/mollyhensleyclancy/trumps-two-choices-for-education-secretary?utm_term=.qoAYPd8wM#.jxMbyV3pj

Betsy DeVos clarifies stance on Common Core after being picked for Trump’s education secretary NOVEMBER 23, 2016 “As speculation swirled Tuesday that DeVos might snag the top education job, conservative opponents of Common Core began to warn Trump away from DeVos. Frank Cannon, the president of the adamantly anti-Common Core American Principles Project, said in a statement Tuesday that DeVos would be “a very Jeb-like pick” and called it “puzzling” that Trump was considering DeVos for the post. “He repeatedly assured parents across the heartland that he intended to return power over education to local schools,” Cannon said of Trump. “It is puzzling, then, to see reports that the Trump transition team is considering an establishment, pro-Common Core Secretary of Education — this would not qualify as ‘draining the swamp’ — and it seems to fly in the face of what Trump has stated on education policy up to this point.” By Jeremy Diamond and Jim Acosta http://fox13now.com/2016/11/23/betsy-devos-clarifies-stance-on-common-core-after-being-picked-for-trumps-education-secretary/

GOP Senators Announce Opposition To Betsy DeVos By Christine Rousselle |Posted: Feb 01, 2017 With Collins and Murkowski out, it is increasingly unlikely that DeVos will be confirmed by the Senate if Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions is confirmed as Attorney General. DeVos has perhaps been the most divisive of all of Trump’s cabinet nominees. http://townhall.com/tipsheet/christinerousselle/2017/02/01/gop-senator-announces-opposition-to-betsy-devos-n2279925?utm_source=thdailypm&utm_medium=email&utm_cam

Mike Pence Makes History, Casts Deciding Vote for DeVos Cortney O’Brien |Posted: Feb 07, 2017 A whole night of speeches couldn’t stop Betsy DeVos from becoming our next secretary of education. Democrats hoped to derail the nominee and her “radical views” with a 24-hour talkathon. When it came time to vote, the Democrats got an assist from two Republican senators, Lisa Murkowski (AK) and Susan Collins (ME), who voted against DeVos. It came down to a 50-50 tie, but for the first time in history, our vice president cast the deciding vote for the cabinet nominee. When Pence arrived on the Senate floor, he took the podium and voted in the affirmative. http://townhall.com/tipsheet/cortneyobrien/2017/02/07/mike-pence-makes-history-casts-deciding-vote-for-devos-n2282629?utm_source=thdailypm&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=

Betsy DeVos, Trump’s education pick, hints at sweeping changes ahead “…DeVos also distanced herself from her relatives’ past support of anti-gay rights groups and causes. She said that tax forms from 2001 and 2014 that listed her as a member of the board of her mother’s foundation, which made some of the donations, were a “clerical error.” She also disavowed that foundation’s support of groups that promote “conversion therapy” for gay youngsters. “I’ve never believed in that,” DeVos said. “I fully embrace equality, and I believe in the innate value of every single human being.”” By Liz Goodwin Senior National Affairs Reporter Yahoo News January 17, 2017 http://finance.yahoo.com/news/betsy-devos-trumps-education-pick-hints-at-sweeping-changes-ahead-035606409.html

More and more U.S. colleges, public schools, law enforcement agencies, courtrooms, hospitals, city councils and the federal government are now using Sharia law, per the UN’s mandate, and the demands of a growing army of muslim millions gaining power and political offices.
We are becoming subjects to islam like Britain, and Germany.

This is outrageous, those who promoted it should be imprisoned! This is a NY high school test from the university regents:
http://www.nysedregents.org/globalhistorygeography/Archive/20100817-gh-examw.pdf

This is from page 13 of the test ” . . Wherever they went, the Moslems brought with them their love of art, beauty, and learning.
From about the eighth to the eleventh century, their culture was superior in many ways to that
of western Christendom.
Some of the finest centers of Moslem life were established in Spain. In Cordova, the streets
were solidly paved, while at the same time in Paris people waded ankle-deep in mud after a rain.
Cordovan public lamps lighted roads for as far as ten miles; yet seven hundred years later there
was still not a single public lamp in London!
Some Spanish Moslems had homes with marble balconies and courts with lovely waterfalls.
Bedrooms were vaulted with stained glass and speckled with gold. And metal pipes carried water
into marble baths.
Nearly every mosque had a public school in which the children of the poor were taught. Many
Moslem libraries were excellent; the catalogue of one caliph’s library filled forty volumes. In
addition, the followers of Mohammed achieved much in science, particularly in chemistry,
astronomy, mathematics, and medicine. . . .

Deport Professor Zufari for her lack of ability to become an American. Rollins College faculty and administrative leaders who supported the Islamist’s hate and lies need to be censured. A diploma from Rollins is just a worthless piece of paper if this is the way they teach!

Apparently the ban is just on Christian groups that restrain gays from participating in leadership, not Christian groups that accept gays in leadership.

So effectively, the ban is on groups that restrict gays from leadership positions, no matter what kind of organization they are.

Actually, that particular group did not, and does not, ban homosexuals from leadership positions. They simply have to take the same pledge about not engaging in non-marital sexual activity, and the avoidance of other activities that the group considers “sinful” (whatever in the hell that is).

All Christian and Jewish students should immediately withdraw from the college and take their money with them. Board members should be pressured to fire administrators. There is strength i numbers.
