California’s Mismanagement of Forests and Fires

45

Of the 20 largest California wildfires since 1932, the largest have occurred since 2000 – the catastrophic consequence of leftist environmental policies.

CA Gov. Jerry Brown Vetoed 2016 Wildfire Management Bill

Last year, as California residents were burned out of their towns, homes, neighborhoods, schols, hospitals and businesses, Gov. Jerry Brown was jetting around the world spouting climate change propaganda, and calling the fires California’s “new normal.” Gov. Brown had many chances to sincerely and realistically address California’s increasing wildfires since his election in 2011, but instead chose to play politics, placing his new friends at the United Nations over the people of California.

Brown has his out – “climate change”, the biggest hoax ever. California voted for him.

Story continues below advertisement

From a long time GR reader who works in the field,

42 dead now, 200 missing. Friend related how a friend escaped in a car. As they were forging ahead he saw people in his rear view mirror in a traffic jam behind him get out of their cars to try to run for it, but instead they burst into flames. 117,000 acres and growing. The fire is moving into the higher elevations and the evergreen trees. It jumped the Oroville Reservoir.

1. Under Clinton, US Dept. of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service rejected Russian offers to sell us their jet powered, 4 engined, “Monsoon” water bombers. Biggest in the world. They use them on forest fires. Can drop a mile long water wall. Fast, jet powered and quick turn-arounds on reloads and time to target. ,

Rejected due to concerns about too much water being dropped might cause erosion issues. Not invented here.

2. Under Clinton, US Dept. of Ag., Forest Service, banned the use of dozers larger than D-6s. Dozers go up to D-11 in size. The big ones are more than twice the size of the D-6s. Very wide blades.

Rejected due to concerns about erosion due to weight and track widths. Ruts. Can’t get between trees. However, they can flatten lots of trees, and are great on ridge top lines.

To save erosion and a few trees many more trees burned up, and then there is lots of erosion from the much wider burn area.

When I was a kid and into my 20’s there were saw mills in every Sierran town. There were clear cuts, selective cuts and logging roads everywhere but no massive fires. Today there are no saw mills at all.

3. Up by the Snow Mt. Wilderness Fire a buddy told me he has a friend with a ranch of 700 acres next to the Wilderness area. During the fire the dozers came to the ranch and cut a fire break along his property boundary. However, by law, they were not allowed to enter the Wilderness Area to cut fire breaks. So they watched 250,000 acres burn up. The fire totaled 400,000 acres, killed 44. No, you won’t find this in the media, I mean, propaganda organs. But true story. Hell, I could drive you up there and show it to you. No Lie GI.

Madness, madness, and pure unadulterated hatred of mankind.

When a human ignites on exiting a car, well, that’s what I call human warming. God has a wicked sense of humor.

Spoke to a friend yesterday. He was working on erosion control on the Redding Fire. He told me what they do will make little difference in erosion once the winter storms come pouring down. A lot of money, little good done. Good photo ops for the polis and bureaucrats.

NO IT IS NOT GLOW BULL WARMING CAUSING FOREST FIRES IN CALIFORNIA!

California’s Gov. Brown Again Blames Fires On Global Warming — He Couldn’t Be More Wrong
11/12/18

The mismanagement of both state and federal forest lands.
It’s the triumph of “green” ideology over common sense.

Beginning in 1994, with the best of intentions, President Clinton put in place a plan to limit logging of old-growth trees to protect the ENDANGERED Spotted Owl in Western forests. Those moves pretty much ended what had been a policy of active management of fire threats in our national forests. Logging halted, the burnable fuel on the forest floor built up, and fires, while not more frequent, became more intense and threatening to nearby towns and homes.

“(Before 1994) mostly fuels were removed through logging, active management — which they STOPPED— and grazing,” Bob Zybach, a reforestation consultant who has a Ph.D. in environmental science told the Daily Caller Foundation in an interview. “You TAKE AWAY logging, grazing and maintenance, and you get firebombs.”

Mismanagement Is Nothing New
The Western Governors Association even warned about the mismanagement of our forest resources as far back as 2005 in a report:

“Over time the fire-prone forests that were NOT thinned, burn in uncharacteristically destructive wildfires, and the resulting loss of forest carbon is much GREATER than would occur if the forest HAD been thinned BEFORE fire moved through,” the report warned. “In the long term, leaving forests overgrown and prone to unnaturally destructive wildfires means there will be significantly less biomass on the ground, and more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.”

We hate to say it, but Trump seems to know more about the causes of the California conflagration than Brown. What’s truly a shame is that Brown is the one in denial. And his policies will LEAD TO BIGGER FIRES FIRES AND MORE DAMAGE TO HOMES THAN EVER BEFORE IN THE FUTURE!

There is a DESPERATELY needed book on this waiting to be written by a REAL journalist. America had perfected Forest Management to a high art till the ideologues arrived.

Jerry Brown has got to be one of the most failed socialist stooges in all of history. Standing amid the smoldering ruins of the biggest state in the 48 demanding that his legacy of self-serving vanity policies be continued in the face of all contrary evidence and blaming everyone who doesn’t believe the BIG LIE of “global warming/climate change.”
Everywhere we look in this historically ignominious season of Democrat voter fraud in states from coast-to-coast we see the poison of nepotism at the roots of all our erupting tribulations.
Pelosi, who learned to count votes at the knee of her corrupt Democrat Maryland governor father and has presided over the replacement of the American people with desperate willing subject immigrants and endless other criminal policies worthy of any self-enriching Soviet-style master-plan catastrophe.
Bush, one who wasted billions on treating AIDS in Africa so overpopulation has taken hold and the world is being overrun by Negroid degradation, the other who appointed the likes of Snipes, the Broward thug who sees her election supervisor position as an invitation to call the State of Florida up and down ballot for whatever candidate she likes.
Brown, who was a Sixties radical dilettante who knew better than his father, the governor, and set out to prove it by running California according to the feelings of the artists and actors he craved approval from — an now bequeaths his executive authority to a hard-core Marxist idiot, the former Mayor of sh*t-covered San Francisco.
All these parasitic pigs, gorging themselves for generations at the public trough, lying reflexively about their intentions and themselves, now who are seeking to destroy the one guy who made his much greater fortune in our great American opportunity economy and who’s fighting them nearly single-handedly for the future opportunity for AMERICANS — because of what a dangerous example he sets against them and their vast crimes.

In northern CA, over thirty people have been killed by fires, with over two hundred still listed as missing. Gov moonbeam gives a wooden, uncompassionate speech about the fires and almost immediately launches into the climate change BS. Beyond shameful. He truly does hate the people of CA. His successor, gruesome Newsome will be far worse for this state.

And yet, CA “citizens” continue to vote ’em in. Wait until your tax bill starts rising when “healthcare for all, residents and illegal aliens alike” kicks in …. It’ll make these forest fires look like makin’ S’mores.

I sure as hell didn’t vote for that bastard. There’s just too many idiots in CA who want something for nothing. We think it’s bad under moonbeam, it’s going to get much worse under the next jackass, Newsom. He’s an anti-gun, big government type who does not care one bit about CA or its citizens.

AbbVie in Montgomery has the need for field agents to take photos with their cameras, at the local supermarkets for marketing purposes to work from home, for 3 or more hours a day! I’ve been doing this for more than 3 months now, making anywhere between $4200 – 7004 monthly and last week bought a wonderful and thrilling Yamaha Tricity 125, a three wheeler that I yearned for so long. Yes, true
– Urban dwellers are able to get away with more evil

Agreed. The very same liberal stupidity is on display next door (I live in TX) in NM. This past summer, I viewed the precarious fire aftermath around Ruidoso.

As an example of the liberal lame brain mentality affecting the place, if you are in the downtown area and want to smoke a cigarette, you have to climb aboard an old school bus parked at the curb as a designated smoking area. Give me a f**king break.

Before President Trump blamed Forest Management, I said to my wife the same, poor Forest Management. Forest management is nothing new perhaps under a different name, controlled burns and other methods. Native Americans used controlled burns long before Jerry and his Comrades discovered and blamed Climate Change while Climate Change has affected the planet for millennia.

Blame the messenger, Trump, who dares to speak out against the Progressive’s climate subterfuge or hoax. It is easier to have taxpayers pay the freight, carbon taxes or other taxes levied against those working their tails off. California has suffered from forestry mismanagement for decades and remains static in reviewing their non-strategy.

Trump, needless to say, is vilified by the Progressives, the MSM, Democrats and every reborn Hippy in California and other states. The blame game is a ploy used by the Democrats day-by-day; the most masterful was and is to this day, Obama.

I heard Trump criticized yesterday for criticizing the lack of forest management, he should have been more “comforting.” Maybe I missed it but haven’t heard a word of comfort or even photo ops from either the governor or governor elect — Newsom’s still celebrating his ascension and making plans to be at the border to welcome the migrant caravan? IOW, zero leadership.

Having spent a large portion of my life living in close proximity to the largest forested area in the Lower 48 States, I have some observations to make about wild or forest fires.

There hasn’t been a single year out of the last 60, where I have not smelled wood smoke at some point during the warmer season of the year. Not from a wood stove, but from a tree, dry grass or under story fuels in a forest, burning.

Cellulose burns. Lesson number one. Fire needs fuel in order to burn. Forests and their environs are an immense fuel source. Therefore, humans that are in close proximity to forests should, if they do not want to be fuel, undertake efforts to reduce the amount of free fuel, or cellulose, nearby.

Since I like living where I do, I undertake regular fuel reduction programs, so that if and when the forest around me ignites, the fire will be far enough away that it can be controlled and extinguished.

I refuse to be a victim of any thing in life, other than old age. Since most of the potential fuel around me is growing within the boundaries of a National Forest, I make sure that the local forest managers, have active fuels reduction programs either planned or in place and being acted upon.

I don’t expect the forest to be clear cut so I don’t burn up, but, I do expect the floor and ladder fuels to be cleaned and removed regularly. Bottom line is, if I don’t make a fuss about, who will? Complaining after the fact solves nothing. What happens in California is criminal. It is possible to reduce fuels and fire IF regular management programs are enacted on a regular basis.

Fire is going to come. It is just that when it does, will it be out of control or not? It’s up to us to participate in and see to it that when it does, it makes as small an impact as possible.

Neither ever touched a shovel in his life. Yet they see fit to RULE you. The little men out to save planet Earth from working men.

Lieberals always bring death to you, but not before a little human misery and suffering before you go. But this time it was by FIRE. Unusual of them. Very quick. Usually it’s a lot of MENTAL suffering before you go.

So few Americans have heard about “agenda 2015” “agenda 2030” by the “nwo”/”cfr”/”trilaterals”. This is about driving Americans off of their lands and force them into the cities where they can more easily be CONTROLLED!
Look at all of the People who live in the suburbs, in the past, who were and are being harassed by government agencies, by decrees and law suits, to the point of not being able to REPAIR or REBUILD what a fire has damaged or destroyed on their OWN properties.

The local news network affiliate shills in Los Angeles are having a smarmy field day obfuscating Trump’s accurate comments about California’s failed forest management being the cause of the catastrophic fires of this month and in recent years.
They’re displaying a Tourettes-like tick, repeating again and again that “seventy percent of the state’s forests are managed by the federal government,” as if California and the federal government are not in Leftist “Green” Enviro-Facism lockstep, and as if 30 percent is insignificant, in any case.
I don’t know who these Pravda newsreaders think they’re fooling.
It’s only themselves.

I remember going camping in the mountains of Arizona in the late 80’s. I could not ride my motorcycle off road and I was not allowed to collect firewood from the forest floor. My thought at the time was that would lead to disaster. A decade or so later, fires destroyed hundreds of thousands of acres of AZ forests due to this insane policy. Multiply that by ten or twenty, and you have what is happening in Ca now.

Look into the UN’s Agenda 21-2030, and you will see that Moonbeam has been very successful in promoting their agenda which includes returning 2/3 of the world’s land surface to “pristine wilderness,” no humans allowed. How better to get rid of those pesky human beings than to burn them out? Fires and severe weather are happening worldwide and have nothing to do with man-made global warming. Climate change has been happening since the beginning of time, but have you ever heard of “weather wars?” The globalist agenda, now being revealed and better understood by the public, will be shoved down our throats at breakneck speed now that the evil Dhimmicrats have stolen the reins of Congress.
