Karim Akouche: “the roots of violence are indeed to be found in the Koran”

16

Karim Akouche is an Algerian writer, author of Letter to a Soldier of Allah. In an Op-Ed for the French magazine Marianne, he wrote: “If I am accused of betraying Mohammed’s religion, I might as well assume it right away: I am a non believer. I stopped being a Muslim.”

Excerpts :

“As a child, I played the game. I had no choice. I learned to recite, mechanically, like my classmates, suras and hadiths.

The Algerian school wanted me to be a believer a submissive. They missed. I resisted with my means and, above all, thanks to the Kabyle song, the bard Matoub Lounès and the values of my ancestors.

Story continues below advertisement

I said it somewhere: “I am a survivor of the Algerian school. I could have become a jihadist”.

The education system in my native country has taught me all kinds of enormity. I was taught to:

  • hate “unbelievers”,
  • to make fun of other religions,
  • to belittle the woman,
  • to despise homosexuals, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, atheists…
  • I was taught to fight democracy,
  • to defend the primacy of God’s laws over those of men.
  • I was taught how to proselytize, how to use taqîya, the trick.
  • I was urged to contribute, in one way or another, to the Kingdom of Allah on Earth to earn later, once in Heaven, the 72 houris and the rivers of wine…

As a teenager, fed on the milk of revolt, I broke the chains, refused the intolerable; then, later, I became, as best as I could, a free citizen… I shouted at the Islamist imposture, its inanities, its temples and its sponsors.

It is on the roads of exile in the West that I first encountered “Islamophobia”, a polysemic, vague, vulgar and dangerous term.

Sneaky islamists instrumentalize it for the purpose of conquest, while soft intellectuals, lost in outdated causes, or objective allies of the former, recite it wrongly and through. It makes me dizzy. Their drunken parrot looks often piss me off. It is easier to join the hypocritical camp of an imaginary Good, that of “We are all brothers”, than to confront the real evil of the macabre ideology of the [Muslim] “Brotherhood” and their avatars. The first attitude requires no intellectual effort, no nuance, no risk. The second, on the contrary, requires lucidity, responsibility and courage.

Criticism of Islam has never killed anyone, while Islamism has caused hundreds of thousands of deaths

It is not the supporters of Islamists who are threatened or murdered, but the free women and men who confront, on the ideological front, and sometimes military, the soldiers of Allah.

Secularism, the debate of ideas, reason and criticism of Islam have never killed anyone; Islamism, on the other hand, has caused hundreds of thousands of deaths.

I say it once and for all: hating Muslims is a crime, because it is racism. Criticizing Islam is a right. Fighting Islamism and Jihadism is a duty.

  • I don’t work for any chapel.
  • I only obey my intuition as a poet.
  • I do not deny my origins or my convictions.
  • Those who accuse me of serving the former colonizer’s invisible hand are targeting the wrong target.
  • Justice, like truth, has only one face. I proclaim it on all the ridges.
  • Something is not right in the Muslim religion

How could I turn my back on Muslims, since I am coming from there? They are citizens like any other, who have the same rights and duties. I will always defend them, with vigor, if they are victims of xenophobia and I will criticize them, with no less force, if some of them behave like inquisitors.

Let us have the courage to say that something is not right in the Muslim religion:

  • No matter how much we call it a “religion of peace, love and tolerance”, no matter how much we exonerate some of its texts, the violent, the truth explodes in our faces with each tormented awakening.
  • Without Islam, there would never have been Islamism.
  • Islamism and jihadism do not come out of nowhere. The reasons may be social, but they are above all ideological.
  • Like it or not, the roots of violence are found in letters, the Koran and hadiths.

I scream in the chaos of the world.

I’m talking to untie the rope that holds most elites back.

I write to plant courage and disperse the thick mist of taboos.

I scratch where it hurts. It is my job as a rebellious poet that demands it.

I target the tyranny of silence. The banality of fanaticism. The falsification of morality. I don’t like “learning donkeys” and counterfeiting scientists.

Until Islam is reformed, in other words, until it has been appeased, redacted.

The Arabs still worship an idol every day (the Kaaba), it seems Islam did not at all bring them the “progress” they believed, only spreading their darkness to the other nations as well.

In speaking about Islam, he targets the ‘tyranny of silence” and the ‘banality of fanaticism’ and the ‘falsification of morality,’ and he clearly recognizes that the belief system that is Islam is essentially violent to all non-believers; yet he takes umbrage with those of us who have become Islamophobic because we see the same thing and we non-believers are the ones who directly face the scourge that is Islam. How naïve. I know many people who follow the belief system that is Islam. Those people are very satisfied with what they have accomplished here in the U.S. They are not violent. Yet, I cannot help but conclude from the conduct of the Jihadist’s, who justify their heinous conduct by their acceptance of the violence towards non-believers which is contained within their belief system, that the belief system itself is the trigger for the heinous conduct that motivates Islamic believers. He is telling me that if I express concern, I am a racist. Who is he kidding? My concern is against a philosophy that claims it is the only one worthy of following and all other faiths or inconsistent philosophy’s must be overthrown and overwhelmed, and this should not generate my concern about the Islamic belief system. That is a joke. My phobia (fear) is directed against the belief system, no differently than I would react to Nazism, Fascism, Communism, not arbitrarily against any race of people which is the classic case of racial bigotry. How can any right thinking individual not become phobic towards a belief system that promises your death. When people like this author come to grips with those facts of life, just maybe they can change the heinous philosophy that is Islam. Right now, as even he confessed, the belief system that is Islam is a cancer on our planet.

Dennis, he, as an apostate, would be first in line to be murdered by Islamists.

Moreover, I don’t see him as taking umbrage at Islamophobes-those who detest Islam- so much as opposing and objecting to those who detest Moslems as people. There’s a big difference between the two.

“I say it once and for all: hating Muslims is a crime, because it is racism.” FYI–Muslims are not a race. Am I allowed to hate Nazis, Commies and Klansmen w/o being called racist? Muslims are the followers of a monster and his monstrous ideology as documented in his monstrous “holy” book. I don’t want Muslims in my country. Wherever Muslims migrate en masse, Hell follows.

It is pleasing that this man has had the independence of spirit and critical mindset that helped him find his way out of Islam, but to state: “… hating Muslims is a crime, because it is racism” is in fact nonsense because Muslims are not a ‘race’.

Further, non-Muslim individuals can be forgiven if they hate Muslims because what they see of the believers in Islam is hatred, intolerance, unspeakable cruelty, mean-spirited attitude, incessant criminal conduct, refusal to assimilate, refusal to accept the laws and customs of nations that have generously accepted Muslims into their country, and incessant efforts by Muslims to impose their rubbish Islamic beliefs and perverted thinking on the people of host nations.

Disdain, dislike, rejection or hatred of Islam does not stem from a ‘phobia’, instead from logical rejection (and fear) of a belief system that leads its followers to incessant conflict, general nastiness and outright savagery. That any Western democracy would allow such people to immigrate in numbers demonstrates just how stupid and morally destitute most Western country’s governments have become.

I believe Yahuah created the Demoncraps and the Moslems to use against you when you sin. They are godless pagans and stand against everything you believe to make your lives miserable.

Every time you take a step forward these people will make you take two steps backwards. They LOVE to make your lives miserable.

Yet, because they are so backwards and hippocraps you can easily defeat them. But your SIN stands in the way.

Former Islamics are brave! 3 slight disagreements in the form of questions with this good and brave writer who speaks 95% truth: 1st, what race is Islam as Jihadis come in all colors and islamic Sharia unites them all in their ideological propensity for violence? 2nd, how can U not fight Islam without hating ideological Muslims because Islam itself decrees death to all nonbelievers who don’t agree to submit to dhimmitude? 3rd, what about Bahaiism or Sufism as an effort to appease and redact Islam? It’s lack of success proves what happens to reform efforts within Islam without outside pressure put on Islam to tolerate dissidents in the form of colonial powers!
