Three asylum seekers from Syria and Palestine have been sentenced to jail for an attempted arson attack on a synagogue in Gothenburg, southern Sweden, in December last year.
CCTV footage from the attack, which took place while some 30 youths were attending a Hanukkah party in the synagogue, shows more than a dozen masked men throwing Molotov cocktails at the building and nearby cars.
However, just three men, aged 19, 22 and 24, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

Court documents state that at least six Molotov cocktails – glass cider bottles filled with flammable liquid – were thrown at the synagogue on December 9, 2017.
The prosecution argued that the charges were aggravated by ‘the crime’s motive to violate an ethnic group because of its beliefs’.
The young Jewish people celebrating Hanukkah in the building, briefly took shelter in a cellar during the attack, but no one was injured.
The court added that the attack’s ‘purpose was to threaten, harm and violate both the members of the Jewish community and the Jewish people as a whole.’

One of the men had googled the synagogue’s location on the day of the attack, the prosecution said.
The 19-year-old Syrian man was sentenced to one year and three months for threats and attempted criminal damage.
The two Palestinian nationals, aged 22 and 24, were each sentenced to two years in prison.
The Syrian teen and the 24-year-old, a Palestinian national from Syria, had already been given permanent residency in Sweden and the court ruled that the crime is not considered severe enough to warrant deportation.
The 22-year-old had his asylum application rejected and will therefore be deported after serving his sentence.
There are around 20,000 Jews living in Sweden, according to the Official Council of Swedish Jewish Communities.
The Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention says there have been between 150 and 280 anti-Semitic acts, including threats, insults and violence, each year in the past decade.

26 Comments5 years agoSveeduhn. You cannot make up this stuff. Arson and attempted murder … One and a quarter years to two years. When will they be eligible for parole? Moreover, arson and attempted murder are not serious enough crimes, for deportation, as long as you’re a moslem (the vilest of ALL creatures. 5 years agoReply to Achmed MohandjobI’ve heard that there’s a resurgence of nationalism in Sweden but it’s going to take a lot more to get this sad country sane again. 2 years for attempted mass murder is just soft beyond all reason. I’m no pessimist but this country is just so lost and broken I don’t know how it could be revived without major revolutionary change.

Swedish nazi, Mikael Hoglund supports the Muslims and attacked anti-immigration politician Kent Ekeroth because of Ekeroth’s Jewish ancestry. Some of these European nationalists and self-proclaimed nazis stand with the Muslims in their hatred of Jews.
Jorg Haider (dead, thankfully), David Duke, Mikael Hoglund, a proud and self-proclaimed Swedish nazi, some members of Hungary’s Jobbik, to name a few, are rather close with their Muslim friends. It’s easy to relate to the image of the left wing supporters of Muslim immigration, but early on, the extreme right found a bond with the Muslims.

Agreed, unbelievable. And compare that sentence to the sentence given in the UK to Kevin Crehan in 2016 for leaving a piece of bacon outside a mosque – a 1 year jail sentence! And he is dead now, he was found dead in his cell about half-way through his sentence and the UK authorities have still not released details as to how he died. RIP Kevin.
5 years agoReply to Peter AWhat about the man, in Florida, that received a THIRTY YEAR (Fifteen years hard time, followed by fifteen of strictly supervised parole) sentence for leaving a pound of bacon at a mosque? Granted, he broke into the mosque, destroying one window and one door. However, that same weekend, in Chicago .. a man of African descent, broke into a synagogue, destroyed lights, windows, cameras, sacred objects, and painted swastikas all over the interior. That man … he received a two day sentence … “Time Served”. Good ol’ USA, the United Sharia of America.

Sweden is disgusting and nothing short of a revolution will help it. The judge in this case needs prosecuting and jailing.5 years agoTrying to murder 30 young Jewish boys with fire bombs is not nearly as serious crime as if they left some pork products at the Synagogue. Of course the 3 who received short jail sentences will live in very good circumstances in jail with halal food, prayer times conjugal visits etc etc.all paid for by the good Swedish taxpayer.

Fire bombing a synagogue with people inside and none of these Muslim pieces of garbage get more than 2 years prison dawah? I think we all know that had it been a mosque instead of a synagogue, there would be some serious and major jail time! Oh, but in Sweden, these Muslim thugs could very well be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
