Trump Directs Pentagon to Establish Space Force as New Military Branch

By Jack Heretik, WFB, June 18, 2018:

President Donald Trump announced Monday that he is directing the Department of Defense to create a new “space force” to become the sixth branch of the U.S. military.

“My administration is reclaiming America’s heritage as the world’s greatest spacefaring nation,” Trump said at a meeting of the National Space Council, with Vice President Mike Pence standing by him. “The essence of the American character is to explore new horizons and to tame new frontiers, but our destiny beyond the Earth is not only a matter of national identity but a matter of national security, so important for our military.”

“When it comes to defending America, it is not enough to merely have an American presence in space; we must have American dominance in space, so important,” Trump said. “Very importantly, I am hereby directing the Department of Defense and Pentagon to immediately begin the process necessary to establish a space force as the sixth branch of the Armed Forces.”

Trump said the Air Force and future Space Force would be “separate, but equal.”

Trump ordered Gen. Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to begin implementing the directive.

Trump has previously spoken about creating a space force, but this is the first concrete move, at least publicly, in that direction. The Air Force is currently responsible for space warfare, with the Air Force Space Command in charge of operating and protecting military satellites.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is responsible for the country’s civilian space program. Budget cuts in recent have resulted in fewer Americans going into space, leading some observers to call for the U.S. to explore space in a way not done since before the space shuttle came into existence.

We would like to see some 24th century tech. Between the US, UK, Israel, India, and Japan. – we might be able to pull it off.

We don’t need those other countries.
They are worse off with space technology than we are.

I love the pres and the job he’s doing, but a space force is not needed. both the air force and the naval air arm of the navy are fully capable of serving in space. both branches have the command structure to do so. MAGA!

George Soros’ foundation is the one behind the fake “children for open borders” sub-cult, going around Europe and America.

More and more coming.

Those countries have rejected open borders (which brought the war on terror to Europe).

The Right is winning, and the real left-wing (real liberals who don’t like right-wing Islamics) are joining forces with the right like in Denmark and Italy; because they don’t want to see an end to western libertarian society.

Trump’s been doing a good job but, who’s whispering in his ear to create this boondoggle. What does he propose this new branch do. I know, Trump’s plan is to send all of MS-13 members, liberals, antifa, democrats, Hillary, Obama, Comie and friends to a prison colony on Mars. It would still be too close but, it’s a start.

Good question. DOD has enough resources allocated to them as it is. Too much really – we’re funding an incredible amount of waste I’m sure.

His background looked impressive till I read this.
I am suspect of ANYONE Obama selects for anything..

In May 2015 Pres. Barack Obama nominated Dunford to replace Gen. Martin Dempsey as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. During his Senate confirmation hearings, Dunford made headlines when he identified Russia as the top military threat to the United States, citing its nuclear arsenal and “alarming” behaviour, notably its ongoing military intervention in eastern Ukraine. Dunford was confirmed in July, and when he assumed the post on October 1, 2015, he became only the second marine to serve as the top military adviser to the president.

One of his first concerns was Russian involvement in the Syrian civil war. Russia had undertaken an expansive bombing campaign that was ostensibly targeting militants from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL; also called the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria [ISIS]). Analysis of the strikes, however, revealed that many were directed not at ISIL but at unaffiliated groups opposing the regime of Syrian Pres. Bashar al-Assad. In addition, Dunford faced questions about the possible expansion of the Russian campaign into Iraq, which had struggled to handle ISIL within its borders. Dunford, however, received assurances from Iraqi officials that the Russian campaign would not be allowed to expand into Iraq.

China and Russia are arming space. We rely on satellites to operate our economy and help US win wars. We NEED a military branch of it.

Stop aiding the Demoncrap’ illegal immigration. Send them back to Mexico. They cost us a $116 billion a year according to FAIR. They also said Trump’s wall will even be cheaper then that to build.

For the next 9 years this money could create a lot of jobs for white America and fund the Space program.

A “space force” is a TERRIBLE idea. Outer space, like Antarctica, is demilitarized and devoted to science, not war, and that was primarily because America DEMANDED it, back when the “space race” with Russia was hot and heavy. It shows an idiotic lack of comprehension of history for Trump to re-open that can of worms and basically throw the 1967 Outer Space Treaty out the window. We will have hell to pay if he really goes through with this, and doesn’t just ignore it like most of his other crazy ideas that he puts out there just to rile up his “base.”

Can you actually believe there are still some people out there who do not think this Presidential announcement is true. It must be true, that some people actually were born yesterday!
