Gazans to burn thousands of tires at border
Pictures and videos on social media showed that hundreds of tires have already been transported to the border.
By Tovah Lazaroff, Jerusalem Post, April 4, 2018 (thanks to Van):Palestinians plan to engulf the Gaza border with smoke and flames from thousands of burning tires on Friday as Israel holds firm to its order to shoot any protesters who come close to the security barrier.In the past several days, groups of young Gazans have been collecting old tires around the Strip and bringing them to the borderPalestinians intend to light the tires on fire to blur the vision of the soldiers on the Israeli side of the security fence, according to a Gaza-based source familiar with preparations for what he called “the Friday of Old Tires.
“The hope is that the soldiers will not be able to shoot because the thick, black smoke will block their line of vision,” he said in a phone call with The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday.
Pictures and videos on social media showed that hundreds of tires have already been transported to the border.
Last Friday, some 30,000 Gazan protesters participated in the launch of a planned sixweek event called the “Great March of Return,” in which Palestinians hope to break through the border to return to the sites of pre-1948 communities located within Green Line Israel.
The IDF shot and killed 17 protesters who were close to the Gaza fence last Friday, including one who later succumbed to his wounds. An 18th Palestinian killed on Tuesday was buried in Gaza on Wednesday.
While scattered protests have continued throughout the week, it’s expected that another massive protest will take place this Friday.
In an Arabic post on his Facebook page, Maj.-Gen. Yoav Mordechai, the coordinator of government activities in the territories, warned that the plan to blind IDF soldiers with smoke will backfire.
“It’s the people in Gaza who will be strangled by black smoke – and green onions will not help them,” Mordechai wrote.
He warned that the smoke is carcinogenic and is harmful to the respiratory and immune systems.
Mordechai also wrote a letter asking the World Health Organization to intervene. Aside from the health issue, he wrote that he feared the burning tires could cause an ecological disaster, by poisoning plants and animals.
The United Nations, the European Union and the Palestinians have called on the IDF to hold its fire.
But Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman has insisted that he has no plans to change his orders to use life fire if necessary.
“We will act exactly we did last Friday. We are not changing our behavior. Anyone who harms Israeli sovereignty and endangers Israeli [security] infrastructure is risking their lives,” Liberman told Army Radio on Wednesday evening.
Those who come close to the fence are either Hamas or Islamic Jihad terrorists, or they are paid by Hamas to be there, the defense minister said.
The “people in Gaza will be the first to be harmed from these tires,” Liberman told Army Radio.
SHIN BET head Nadav Argaman met with Egyptian General Intelligence Services chief Abbas Kamel in Israel on Tuesday to discuss the protests, Army Radio said.
Argaman asked Kamel to tell Hamas that the Jewish state has “no tolerance for what is happening” in the border area.
B’Tselem on Wednesday launched a campaign called “Sorry, commander, I will not fire” to urge soldiers to disobey their officers and to refuse to shoot Palestinian who approach the security fence.
Such orders are unnecessary and illegal under international law, the NGO said.
“It is a criminal offense to obey patently illegal orders.
Therefore, as long as soldiers in the field continue to receive orders to use live fire against unarmed civilians, they are duty-bound to refuse to comply,” the group said.
Liberman has said that most of those killed were known terrorists, including two who were armed, had an explosive device and planned to carry out an attack against Israelis.
Palestinians and human rights groups have argued that many of those killed were innocent, including one protester who was shot in the back.
The PLO’s Mission to the United Nations wrote a letter to the Security Council on Tuesday in which it renewed its call for international protection for the Palestinians.
“Israel’s latest crimes against Palestinian peaceful demonstrators that took place this past Friday, 30 March 2018, are a tragic reminder of the urgency of international action to avail such protection,” the mission wrote.
The Arab League issued the same call when it met in Cairo on Tuesday to discuss the deaths during the protest.
It also expressed its support on Tuesday for the Palestinian request for the International Criminal Court to open an investigation into the recent “war crimes and crimes against humanity” it said were committed by Israel against peaceful Palestinian civilians.
A source involved in the protest said that Gazans participating in it “feel disillusioned about the miserable situation in the Strip.”
Many Gazans suffer from shortages of power and clean water, unemployment, rely on international aid and are have limited or no options to travel abroad.
“They know that they are putting their lives at risk by going to the border area, but they feel like they have nothing to lose,” the source said.

Yeah, but not really an issue for IDF. If the pallys are rolling the tires and burning them along the barrier between them and the IDF, let them.
Up until a number of years ago, EVERY house in Israel had to have a safe room that would protect you from a chemical attack. Every family member from the age of 10 (or 12?) on up, was required to have and be able to use a gas mask. (No one really manufactures such things for the small faces of children who would otherwise be too scared or undisciplined to properly wear. Adults had the added protection of wearing a mask. Unmasked children were much more dependent upon a tight, well built safe room.) In the not too far past, each Israeli man and woman who came to serve their mandatory time in uniform, already knew what to do under such conditions.
Lung damage…
In the photos, the dumba- pallys are unmasked. They’re the ones suffering from the smoke and heat. They’re suffering by their own hands and they’ve reduced the size of their front.
Lung damage occurs when a mask forces you to breathe harder. Sealed, unpressurized masks usually do, but it’s not nearly as bad as not having it.
Additionally, thermal imaging easily enhances your visibility/capability. We don’t see pallys using TI, do we? Were we not recently reminded of an old saying, “if your enemy is making a mistake, let him”? Israelis would be more watchful, but they’re in better shape.

When the illegal aliens settled in Israel … Violent crime skyrocketed with their arrival. Sexual offenses in neighborhoods with high percentages of African migrants were 3.5 times higher than in their rates in the general population. Violent crime was 2.5 times higher. Robberies occurred six times more often.

All that is necessary is for there to be one shot fired from the terrorist side of the fence, bullets are impervious to smoke, the propaganda photographers will have many subjects in various poses of death to remind them of this rather stupidly planned event.

All of these events merely amplify the fact that Israel’s biggest blunder was to relinquish and give to the Palestinians Gaza. The continuing and present events magnify the fact that the Palestinian’s will always be adversaries to the Jews. The reality is that Gaza should be taken from the Palestinians (Hamas) and the people living there should be required to emigrate to an Arab country. This would give Israel a more secure border and remove the continuing expectation of the warlike conduct of these people, people who will continue to be adversely affected by their belief system that promotes hatred of non-Muslims, with those of the Jewish persuasion being subject to death and destruction. Personally, I am livid about the treatment being directed at Israel and its people by the liberals and fake news media, and I see Gaza as a prosperous port of call and commerce if Israel takes it back from those moronic Arab’s.

The IDF should set up some fans to blow the toxic smoke back onto Palis and Gaza. Kidding aside we know what would happen to the Jews if Muslims were far stronger-they’d all be annihilated now. Israel needs to treat them as a real enemy and defeat them. They should do the same to the supporters of Hamas and Islamic fascism.

Tire smoke contains cyanides, nitrosamies, dioxins, furans, and even arsenic (all toxic and most carcinogenic). The Palestinians are willing to make their children suffer later in life just to express their hate for the Jews and the Israelis should give them what they wish for. Blowing the smoke back to them is a good idea.

In Gaza, everyone is watching if the muslim mamzer was shot in the back, if he was peacefully throwing stones when he got killed, if he was giving a lecture on quantum physics to his muslim field mates when the Zionists shot at him point-blank. The world has an extremely close scrutiny on how Israelis kill muslims while defending themselves and raises h3ll when 17 of them get killed while attempting to invade Israeli borders. On the other side of the country, in the Syrian border, fellow muslims are dying like flies at the hands of the combined arab-Russian entente and not a single NGO, church or public body says a single phrase. They stopped counting years ago. In Gaza, everyone is lined up with their calculators, the BBC, CNN, Haaretz, the UN, the UNRWA, the UNHRC, the ICJ and all the remaining alphabet soup. They count time and again the death arabs, they publish their pictures, they interview their families, they hold candle-light vigils complete with teddy bears and flowers on the dead muslim terrorists. They demand investigations, they hold special sessions at the UN, they call for emergency meetings in the European parlaments. Why? Because Jews are daring to defend themselves.
This double standard is sick. Israel always gives in. This time for instance, the Israeli elites are opening an investigation on their own troops after they killed 17 enemy invaders. What’s there to investigate? Arabs rioted against repeated and clear announcements by the IDF that rioters would be repealled with live fire. They got shot as announced. End of story. Yet, the IDF brass instead of ignoring the European garbage’s outcry, they follow suit in the European’s antisemitic game of blaming the Jews.

When Saddam Hussein pulled out of Kuwait, the retreating Iraqi forces ignited all the oil wells. The sky was eerily dark for days, even in the mid afternoon desert sun, and the air was thick. I did NOT like being exposed to that S-. We kept our distance and for a short while, did no real PT or strenuous activity.
No BS, we heard that some environmentalists said they were going to put Saddam on trial for crimes against the environment.
