Rae Chornenky, the chair of the Maricopa County Republican Party, has resigned from her position after Democrats called her out for skipping a meeting ahead of the election where the county’s ballot tabulation machines were tested.
Chornenky did not attend Maricopa County’s Logic and Accuracy Test on October 6. The chair of the Republican Party in Maricopa County, Arizona has stepped down after it emerged she did not attend a pre-election test of the county’s ballot tabulation machines.
Rae Chornenky left her position late on Tuesday, according to 12 News/KPNX TV’s Brahm Resnik. Republican State Representative Kelly Townsend had publicly called for her to resign on Twitter. Chornenky had not been present at a logic and accuracy test of election equipment last month.

The Logic and Accuracy Test is a public event to demonstrate how voting machines worked and to verified they properly counted the ballots. Members of the Secretary of State’s Office as wells as representatives of political parties are invited to attend.
After the test, they sign a certificate confirming the test was successful. Maricopa County’s Democratic Chairman signed the certificate, but members of the Republican and Libertarian parties did not attend the test.

PHOENIX — The Maricopa County Republican chair has stepped down from her post after it was publicly revealed she was a no-show at a voting machine test in October.
Rae Chornenky resigned Tuesday night, one week after Election Day, according to multiple sources in the Republican Party.
Chornenky’s decision came just hours after a state legislator posted to Twitter saying Chornenky did not attend Maricopa County’s Logic and Accuracy Test on October 6.
The Logic and Accuracy Test is a public event to demonstrate how voting machines worked and to verified they properly counted the ballots. Members of the Secretary of State’s Office as wells as representatives of political parties are invited to attend.
After the test, they sign a certificate confirming the test was successful. Maricopa County’s Democratic Chairman signed the certificate, but members of the Republican and Libertarian parties did not attend the test.
Last weekend, the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee filed a lawsuit challenging the official vote count in Maricopa County. The lawsuit alleges when the voting machine detected an “overvote” on a ballot, poll workers told in-person voters to “press, a green button to override the error.”

It would not have made any difference if he attended or not, as the “software upgrade” was uploaded to the voting machines AFTER ther were certified.
There was one district where voting was stopped because the machines were offline for the upgrade. Voting had to be extended two hours because of it.
