Is it “memory” or is it paraphasia (seen with aphasia disorder), i.e., word substitution for a word/phrase that is in similar category of what he intended? Sometimes it could be a similar sounding word. He’s done this many times.
He’s thinking his “wife” so the equivalent gender for a mate of his running mate which historically would be a male, would be a “wife” even though his VP is female and her mate is male, he could not readily come up with the word ‘husband’ and didn’t recognize the mistake. He substitutes a known Republican President, “George” for Trump and he’s also used “Abraham Lincoln” when referring to Trump…(nice compliment). In addition he’s used Margaret Thatcher when he was talking about the head of Germany, Angela Merkle. In other words,—close—but no cigars and a major embarrassment for a potential world leader.

There are different types of paraphasia and can include substituting consonants/vowels within words. Here’s a sampling of some paraphasic errors by Biden: crimate clisis, expodentially, voter registration ‘physician,’ called Chris Wallace ‘Chuck,’ Democrogues, hudge funds for hedge funds, advertaries, Super Thursday, running for “Senate” instead of Presidency and “poor boys” for Proud boys.

He has memory problems that can be separated from language problems, has problems with reporting/comprehending numbers (million vs. billion, etc.) and does a lot of “word searching” which tends to bring out his stutter that he has had since childhood but overcame. He also has episodes of dysarthria (slurring).

Although a dementia, like Alzheimer’s is a possible diagnosis, that’s a diagnosis of exclusion after determining what brain lesions he may already have that could explain some of his language/cognitive deficits. Certainly his previous brain hemorrhage and 2 major brain surgeries for aneurysms over 30 years ago could have resulted in residual brain injuries. Although he functionally recovered (took 7 months to recover) he could be decompensating with an aging brain. In addition, no one has brought up his real risk for STROKES given his atrial fibrillation for which he takes a blood thinner, Eliquis, with its risk of BLEEDING.

No imaging of Biden’s Brain has been ever reported after his near-fatal event in 1988 of an aneurysmal bleed and, no cognitive test result has ever been reported. It is highly likely those were done but no one has reported any results.

As a Neurologist, formerly in the Navy for several years where I had to determine military members’ “fitness” for duty…it would be absolutely necessary to acquire brain imaging and cognitive testing given his history. If he were active duty military, he would be unfit just based on his current atrial fib and blood thinning medication. As a POTUS, that alone would have to be taken into consideration as a significant medical risk for stroke but it has not even been discussed although the diagnosis was clearly noted in Biden’s medical evaluation of 12/15/19 including the treatment w/ Eliquis. That diagnosis alone would also beg the question for possible strokes requiring brain imaging for someone who wants to be the Chief Executive of the US. If he has frontal lobe lesions, that would affect judgement and executive functioning.

That’s it. All Joe’s handlers need are just a few more days of pumping him full of drugs to keep him semi-coherent. Then, he goes back to the basement. Either way.
