A riot was declared in Portland late Wednesday after hundreds of protesters marched on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building, where they reportedly spray-painted expletives on the facility’s windows and threw toilet paper at officers, according to reports.

Despite an announcement that warned against damaging the building, protesters would spray-paint expletives on the building’s windows and attempted to break some of them. Traffic cones were also used to block security cameras. Their actions had prompted federal officers to exit the building for the first time and spray pepper balls to push them away.

A few protesters responded by throwing water bottles and toilet paper rolls at the officers in the area, which caused police to declare the gathering an “unlawful assembly.”
To those near SW Bancroft St and SW Bond Ave at the ICE Building: The gathering has been declared an unlawful assembly.
All persons near SW Bancroft St and SW Bond Ave must disperse by traveling to the NORTH. You are ordered to disperse immediately.

Around midnight, a crowd of about 100 would gather and set fire at an intersection a few blocks north of the ICE building, the Oregonian reported.
Demonstrators threw two restaurant benches into the blaze and at least one protester was captured on video surfing on a bench while banging on a bucket drum.

Residents would soon have enough of their actions, despite showing support earlier in the night. Some yelled at protesters to be quiet while others threw liquids out of their windows, according to the paper.
The unrest came one night after a riot was declared when protesters lit fires, threw rocks and smashed windows at county government offices in the city, reports said. The violence led to two arrests, police added.

But you know that the legal system is mainly run by democrats that let the bad guys walk and shame the victims. How can one win when real justice is denied? Six of one and half-a-dozen of the other – type thing.
If they were given stiff jail sentences and also had to pay restitution for damage they’ve done, then they would think twice before repeating it. As it is they feel they have been given a free pass to do anything whatsoever. And isn’t that exactly what the democrats have been doing?

Do you not know that Jesus died upon that cross over 2000 years ago for all sinners of the world? He shed His innocent blood upon that cross so all that would receive Him could have eternal life in heaven. That there is no other name in heaven or earth that takes away the sins of the world except Jesus the Christ, the Messiah, the Lamb of God. And no one will go to heaven who hasn’t come to the foot of that cross and accepted Him.
You or anyone else only need to drop to you knees, repent of sins, believe in Him and He is faithful and just to forgive. Ah, but He can see into every heart and hear every thought so there is no bsing Him. They had State police there but they didn’t get supported so they left , cant blame them . What a welcomed comment for it’s truth re Judaeo-Christian way…..
You may have seen that I am mad at Trump (won’t stay mad & will re-vote for him) on how he has/hasn’t handled these violent riots. I might not feel so strongly if I didn’t just get my third great-grandson this month. But now I have the new born, a 5 year old and a 7 year old and I am desperately concerned about their future. It’s bad enough the filth the schools are teaching and that Jesus is a myth and allah is the true god!!! but to not have them or my kids and grandkids safe, eats away at me. Especially with the 10 month old, two 1 year old’s and lastly the 5 year old. I’m sure there are many more innocents that have been murdered but I try not to hear about them anymore.
So I’ve tried to figure out why Trump has backed off at caring for our country and citizens and the following is what I’ve found. Which makes me wonder why it is that the deaths and destruction isn’t as important to him. Could this being an election year be behind allowing people to die? God forbid.
In 1957 Eisenhower call the federal troops to integrate the Little Rock Nine at Central High School in Arkansas.
In 1962 AG Robert Kennedy sent federal troops to Oxford, Mississippi when fed marshals couldn’t control rioting after the first African American student was to attend the university there.
In 1963 JFK deployed federalized National Guard troops to the U. of Alabama due to desegregation.
In 1964 LBJ sent troops to Alabama in both June and September to enforce court orders to integrate schools and in 1965 to protect protesters during the civil rights march.
In 1992 GHW Bush utilized the Insurrection Act and sent several thousand federal troops into Los Angeles to restore order after local authorities and National Guard were unable to stop rioting due to Rodney King. But Bush was invited by the then governor.
With all due respect I can and do see your reasoning but I hope you can see why this old lady feels as I do. I am just at a loss to understand what is more important than human lives. Sorry.

On your indignation over perceived lack of leadership from President Trump, for cities under siege by criminal gangs, violent thugs and seditious insurrectionists, I can sympathize.
Sad that you and many others, blessed with grandchildren in twilight years, must have their joy dampened with burdensome worry and heavy-hearted concern for their little ones’ future prospects. Parents too, weighed-down with aching anxiety, looking forward.
I feel for you and them. The young children are, and will be the innocent victims of society’s sins.
As for schools, the godless Left has its perverse strangle-hold on Education, as reflected by the Teacher’s Union. Costly private school, Charter Schools(?), or home-schooling, is all that might be left to save young impressionable minds from the Democrat’s cankerous influence. The evil neo-Marxist Left is fanatically bent on corrupting the future of America — its children — and like infiltrated nations.
I believe President Trump truly cares about American (including its people, of course). Else how could he have endured the relentless and brutal opposition he has suffered from the unhinged Democrat-Media complex (and fraud-conservative “Never Trumpers”).
Don’t forget Mr. Trump has to abide by the Constitution, and legal restraints — flanked by array of Dem-autocrat opposition and the “Praetorian Media”. Also treacherous military men, alarmingly, and disgracefully, recklessly undermined his power to employ the National Guard. — Not even the military is completely supportive!
Yes, Mr. Constitution (Mark Levin) has pointed out the several occasions Presidents have necessarily resorted to the National Guard, that you well outlined.

Of course we think of our own first but all children as precious to the Lord and should be to us too. No regards to race or nationality as God created us all and that makes us brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. In Him but until saved we aren’t family to all as I see it because He tells us not to associate with those that are evil but as you’ve said, we are to pray for them. : )
I’ve been so blessed for even my great grandsons belong to the Lord. Being nondenominational, instead of being baptized as baby’s, we dedicate them to the Lord. Then teach them. It is so wonderful to hear a young child who sees even a worm or a moth and they say “God made that!” It doesn’t take a beautiful butterfly or a brightly colored bird to catch that child’s joy. But to be born in such an evil world, we can only pray the world won’t touch their little spirit and that He will put a hedge around them as He did Job.
I always try to put myself in another’s place but when it comes to the presidency, I’m unable to put myself in his place but only go by what I see him do/don’t do. And I only believe we have the right to judge their actions as they are in the White House as the rest is just between them and the Lord. Well I am still waiting to see about this agreement presented to Israel and the outcome. Will Jerusalem be divided by his (and son-in-law) agreement? From most that I read it sounds like it. Now in the 90’s (dates escape me) Netanyahu was confronted by a prophecy and he didn’t trust it so he went ahead and gave land away and afterwards he was taken out of the government, for some time. Well the same person gave him another prophecy very similar to the first. Now the PM knows it was true the first time so he has to know he has been warned by the Lord. But what will be worse is if we have talked him into giving up land, for then worse than ever before will hit America. It won’t be pretty and worse than we see on our streets today and it will be on the hand of the one who split God’s land. Yes, Israel was given to the Hebrews but He put His name on Jerusalem and when it is touched it is touching God’s property. We will see but usually I have seen the Lord hits us within 48 hours after we have done something against God’s Word. Only time will tell if Trump is truly as he claims, maybe fulfilling God’s word or ? We will see. BTW, if something drastic happens to the east coast, don’t be sad, just know that I am finally in my glory in His presences. : )
It is not just the presidents responsibility but equally that of congress who could have acted in his place. So blood is not on the hands of just one but the hands of many and each will have to answer to God for why the action or inaction. As we know the can be consequence for every decision we do or don’t make. Sigh. And such it will be for those that don’t come to Him before their time runs out. He is a loving and longsuffering Lord but everyone is appointed a time and then, no more.

The Portland police are going to end up cooked, just like geese on New Year’s.

I’m 4 hours south of Portland, lived there for 67 years then moved here. I am a Nam Vet so if it comes to shooting I have no problem. As far as the feds go, this is a state/city problem, unless the state/city asks for help the feds hands are tied. They can protect federal property. As far as going to jail, not going to happen. I got jumped by two of those fools and dropped them. The cops saw it, called paramedics and asked if I wanted to press charges, and this was in Portland.

Aram, I feel for you. I’ve lived in MD (sanctuary) for over 60 years. But now don’t know as my property tax has increased to over a quarter of my income. Well someone must help the state pay the way for the illegals. Just outside of Andrews for at least 35 years and hate to leave but have to move near another base or there goes my healthcare, such as it now is. I lost my first husband and father of my child during the days of Vietnam,
That state/city problem in destroying the country as we knew it and nothing will be great again during our lives.
I was born in the mountains of WV so I grew up with firearms being like an extension to ones arm. I taught my kids too but never thought the day would come when it wouldn’t be used for entertainment at a firing range or for hunting animals. Excuse me my thoughts! But for protection of their families. Glad to hear about the cops but maybe they are few an far between. ? Time will tell.

Peaceful protesters. So if they are innocent and such peaceful protesters, why are they still on the streets (3 months in 3 days)? Shouldn’t those peaceful protesters have returned to their family life after; oh say two weeks at the most?
Those so-called peaceful protesters are also being paid by GS or anyway the liberals. They are nothing more than a shield for those violent rioters.

Thanks for your comment and your penetrating observations. Why ARE these people still ‘protesting’? I would concur that they are being paid (off) by someone, and GS is surely one of the usual suspects.
I guess for many of them, it beats getting a regular, boring, routine job. Down the road, however, they might find themselves in harm’s way.

So where is the Sheriff’s Department in all of this. As elected officials authorized by the US Constitution, the Sheriff is duty bound to protect the citizens that vote them into office. The Sheriff has full authority, and the responsibility to override the local police department that is not upholding the rule of law, whether by political decree, incompetence or other reason. The fact of the matter is that the local PD is not getting the job done and it is the Sheriff’s responsibility to quell these riots by whatever means necessary.

I keep saying they’re doing it all wrong. When those animals start getting violent, fire trucks should be lined up and their hoses aimed at the animals until they scatter like the stinking cockroaches they are!! #1 issue is these people are not protesters. They clearly are rioting criminals. They should be defined publicly for what they are. Criminals. A movement must be defined, in order to either support it, or resist it. The advantage these criminals have is they know what they are, and what they want, and how to get it. The tried and true Communist way. They are organized, we are not. They understand their position, we do not. Since we`ve had the “rule of law” hammered at us for years,we expect our well paid leaders to respect that “rule of law”.Then we`re dismayed that they don`t, and we act all confused,blustery,all puffed up with righteous anger…….and do nothing.We dang well better jam their phone lines,fill their mail boxes,and fill their e-mails before they pass a law against it.
