USPS warns 46 states it cannot guarantee mail-in ballots will arrive in time for election
The report sends a warning to the tens of millions of voters eligible to vote by mail: even if voters meet every deadline and follow their state’s election procedures, their vote may not be counted.

The U.S. Postal Service has sent letters warning 46 states and the District of Columbia that it can not guarantee all ballots cast by mail will arrive in time to be counted in the November election, the Washington Post reported.
The cash-strapped agency’s cost-cutting moves have already delayed some mail by as much as a week. A recent decision to shut down 10 percent of the Postal Service’s sorting machines could spell even longer delays. Trump-appointed Postmaster Louis DeJoy implemented the cuts in a measure to save the Postal Service from insolvency.
The report sends a warning to the tens of millions of voters eligible to vote by mail: Even if voters meet every deadline and follow their state’s election procedures, their vote may not be counted.
The Washington Post obtained records of the ballot warnings, issued in late July by Thomas Marshall, general counsel and executive vice president of the Postal Service.
Amid the sudden shift to mail-in voting triggered by the coronavirus pandemic, some states anticipate 10 times the typical volume of election mail. Six states and Washington received warnings that ballots could be delayed for a subset of voters. The other 40 states, including battleground states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania and Florida, were warned their current deadlines for requesting and returning ballots were “incongruous” with mail service and voters who send ballots close to the deadline could be disqualified.
“The Postal Service is asking election officials and voters to realistically consider how the mail works,” Martha Johnson, a spokeswoman for the USPS, said in a statement.
In response to the Postal Service’s warnings, some states have moved up deadlines, requiring residents to request or send in ballots earlier and some have delayed tallying results to wait for ballots to arrive.
Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam accused the Trump-picked postmaster of trying to suppress votes.
“This is a deeply troubling development in what is becoming a clear pattern of attempted voter suppression by the Trump administration,” Northam said in a statement. “I am committed to making sure all Virginians have access to the ballot box, and will continue to work with state and federal lawmakers to ensure safe, secure and accessible elections this fall.”

It’s up to Governors on how they want to handle voting. States Trump needs like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and Nevada would be a swing state and all have Trump HATING DEM Governors. States have the right to determine WHO , HOW and WHEN they vote. The people IN the state can object and CHALLENGE that. Otherwise, I would bet they will go with fraud mail in voting!
Trump tried to do what he could to clean up the polls back in 2017.
GOP governors also rejected his Voter Fraud Commission so it was disbanded.

Thanks for sharing this Felix. I worked at the polls in the 2016 election and upon hearing that Trump was investigating voter fraud I sent in information concerning the operation at the predominantly Democrat poll where I worked. I never heard back from the task force and sent a second report, which also got ignored. I may have even tried to inform them a third time before I became totally frustrated with their failure to investigate inappropriate operations at the polls, which were conducive to fraud.

I still think Trump could do an executive order [EO] to forbid the Post Office to handle mail- in election ballots. Absentee ballots are different, because they are closely verified. Even an EO to require due diligence by the Post Office would help a lot.
For example, the nasty yahoos who mailed out ballots that listed only Democrats, with no Republican candidates, should be charged with mail fraud.

Covid was planned for this time.Another attack on Trump from democratic morons which will fail like the others did…Trump will be the president to 2024. Get used to it dumbocraps’. If any mega election frauds occur and they say Biden has won Trump will not concede..After a couple investigations which are already set up to be done by the DOJ right after the results if they turn that way with Biden.The fraud will be found…Democrats have no chance of winning.The only way is 100% cheating….Democrats are wussies.

Isn’t there any one person or one single federal agency who sets the rules for elections?
Why do we have a federal government and a Constitution and Bill of Rights that pertains to all citizens if each state is free to do as they please, as in mask mandates in some states and not in others? Or what about gun rights in some states and not in others? WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROTECTION OF OUR RIGHTS AS US CITIZENS?
