WATCH ANTI-TRUST HEARING: Biggest Tech Billionaires Testify Before Congress (Full Hearing)

26
The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Antitrust will hear from CEOs Jeff Bezos of Amazon, Sundar Pichai of Google, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook and Tim Cook of Apple.

Starting at 12PM ET on Wednesday, July 29th, the leaders of the tech industry are appearing before a congressional subcommittee to defend their business practices. Much of the run-up to the hearing has been centered on the unprecedented guest list, which includes CEOs from Apple, Amazon, Facebook, and Google. It will be the first time some of the men have appeared in front of Congress and by far the most significant hearing since the antitrust against Microsoft in the late ‘90s.

Now Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Google’s Sundar Pichai and Tim Cook of Apple will answer for their companies’ practices before Congress for the first time as a group. It will be Bezos’ first-ever appearance before Congress.

Ask them all why they banned videos of doctors discussing COVID and the benefits of HCQ: BANNED: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube REMOVE Viral Video of Doctors’ Capitol Hill Coronavirus Press Conference (WATCH IT HERE)

The hearing will center on testimony from four CEOs: Apple’s Tim Cook, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, and Google’s Sundar Pichai. The CEOs will face questions from the members of the House subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial, and Administrative Law, which is a subset of the broader House Judiciary Committee.(Verge)

Social Justice Warriors fight about nothing while real injustice continues. This woman stupidly went to Iran against advice, and was then arrested for spying. And who among us has not done some stupid things?

Breaking up these companies, or telling them to ‘be good’, or even fining them, just won’t work. They are too heavily loaded with leftist workers that would still do anything and everything to further advance their beliefs.
It worked back when the Bell System was broken up, but that was not for political/idealogical reasons.

He should go ahead and do it. The lobbyists are keeping congress pockets full. It’s why they always seem to be going through the motions when this topic comes up. If nothing else, Jack Dorsey and his platform should seriously be sanctioned, in some way, shape, or form. He openly aides and abets terrorists and left wing extremists/communists. Google is a monopoly. More powerful than some countries, and currently in the process of trying to sway an election. The sooner you break them up, the better.

It is good for them that this is happening while the House is still a Democrat schithole. And, given the depth of legal work that ALL major corps put into anti-trust precautions, it is very unlikely that anyone in any Congress can find a single chink in their armor. Otherwise, this announcement is vague and meaningless, e.g., WHAT business practices does this congressional collection of nitwits plan to question? What laws are being broken? This will be a quickly forgotten non-event.

The big one is that they aggregate and publish data with no liability for the publication by carrying a common carrier exemption BUT unlike common carriers like your internet provider they actually make editorial decisions on content which makes them a publisher. The massive suppression of conservative voices is within the legal rights of a publisher but not of a common carrier. But IF they are a Publisher they bear the same liability for every comment, every article, everything they put out in their materials just like any other Publisher. Think what that means for example for Facebook. Every slander issued, every libel involves liability for the person who said it but as Publisher Facebook potentially bears liability as the deep pockets for every one of their billions of users. Bad idea! But unless they stop the suppression of conservative voices that is what they bought into. Ditto Google. Not much of a problem for Apple at all and not a big problem for Amazon.

If anyone had dared censor one of the Kenyan’s tweets there would be jail time and mobilization of fed alphabet agencies against all of twitter’s staff. But Dorsey’s fine; American citizens are even making it easy for him.

Ship them to GITMO and waterboard them.
When THEY interfere with Your Right to Freedom of Association, Speech, Privacy, They relinquish Their Property Rights.
The Billionaires think they have a right to use their wealth to interfere in Our lives with their “social engineering programs” and to destroy Our Freedom of Assocciation.
We have the SAME right to interfere in their wealth.

I’m all for freedom. Let them have the choice. It’s their platform, if they want to censor go ahead and let them. But remove their blanket immunity from being sued under Section 230. (The exclusion is there because they aren’t supposed to censor.)

All smoke and mirrors, nothing is going to happen. Giant tech has most of Congress (not all) in their hip pocket. It will be up to Trump to do something on his own yet again. Oh and this will be stalled til after the election.

It’s not about these power trippingcomment image individuals, it’s about the power that’s amassed in monopolies for control of the people, these corporations can easily by-pass our constitution and overthrow this country with ease if allowed to stay this big. These corporation should have been broken up years ago before they ever got to this point.
