Razer Blade Pro 17 And Blade 15 4K OLED Gaming Laptops Upgraded With 9th Gen Intel Core Muscle
Razer has unveiled its latest gaming laptop, which is an update to the Razer Blade Pro 17. The machine packs a big 17.3-inch display into a chassis that Razer says is 25% smaller than other 17-inch gaming notebooks in its class. Despite the smaller chassis, the machine will stay cool under demanding workloads thanks to the Razer vapor chamber cooling system and multi-fan design.
The CPU inside the Blade Pro 17 is a a new 9th gen Intel Core i7-9750H with a base clock of 2.6GHz and boost clock up to 4.5GHz. That CPU has six cores and supports HyperThreading; graphics are handled by the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, GeForce RTX 2070 with Max-Q, or GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q.
Razer ships the notebook with 16GB of DDR4-2667 RAM, two additional memory slots support up to 32GB of Intel XMP compatible memory at speeds up to 3200MHz. Storage for every version of the Blade Pro 17 is via a 512GB PCIe SSD. For storage expansion, there is a second and unused m.2 drive slot that supports SATA and PCIe standards.
The 17.3-inch display has full HD resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate and matte finish. It covers 100% of the sRGB space and has very thin 6.0mm bezels. Those thin bezels are how the machine can be so much smaller than other 17-inch machines on the market today. The thin bezels do leave enough room for a Windows Hello IR camera.
On the connectivity front, the machine has three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, an HDMI 2.0b port, Ethernet port, SD card reader, and a pair of USB 3.2 Type-C ports with one doubling as a Thunderbolt 3 port. Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi are integrated. The Razer Blade Pro 17 starts at $2,499 and will ship in May in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Germany, and China.
In addition, Razer has also updated its Blade 15 with hexa-core 9th generation Intel Core i7-9750H processors. Also on tap for the Blade 15 Advanced models are new display options including a 4K OLED panel that covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut and is HDR 400 True Black-certified. The other option is a Full HD panel with a 240Hz refresh rate.
The Razer Black Pro is available now priced from $2,499, while the Razer 15 Standard and Advance are available to order price from $1,999 and $2,399 respectively.
