HTC U11 Plus Snapdragon 835 Flagship Leaks Ahead Of November 2nd Unveil
HTC has been coy about its upcoming U11 Plus handset, only hinting about it in a Twitter post. Well, notorious leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, better known as @OnLeaks on Twitter, did HTC one better by posting what looks to be an official press render of the U11 Plus, along with a YouTube video and some information about the phone's dimensions. This is presumed to be the first look at the finalized design.
The U11 Plus bears a resemblance to Apple's iPhone 8 models. It is a premium handset with curved corners that measures 158.22 mm (L) x 74.2 mm (W) x 8.5mm-9.1mm (D). According to Hemmerstoffer, it is just a tad thinner at the bottom, hence the 8.5mm to 9.1mm measurement. It will also boast a 6-inch display, though there is no mention of what resolution the phone will run at.

Premium handsets all seem to look and function similar to one another. In an attempt to separate its upcoming flagship from the pack, HTC is going with a unique glass coloring technique called "Liquid Surface" to give the U11 Plus some color depth. That will mostly be visible on the backside, as the entire front of the device is dedicated to the display and black bezels. The rear will also be home to a fingerprint sensor.
HTC is expected to announce the U11 Plus on November 2. Meanwhile, there have been reports that Google is finalizing negotiations to purchase HTC's phone division. That would not likely affect the launch of the U11 Plus, but it would make things interesting going forward.
