Prime Minister Minnis accepts $20,000 donation in medical supplies

Prime Minister and Minister of Health the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis accepted $20,000 worth of medical supplies donated by the Rhode Island National Guard State Partnership Program to the Ministry of Health.

Commander Kevin Self of the Office of Defense Cooperation, United States Embassy, Nassau, handed over the donation which included Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) machines, during a presentation at the Cabinet Office on Thursday 4 June.

The donation also included conversion kits needed to turn the machines into ventilators.

“We greatly appreciate this donation and the assistance provided by the US in response to Hurricane Dorian,” said Prime Minister Minnis. “This shows that our relationship with the United States of America continues to grow from strength to strength.”

Also on hand for the donation was Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister, Mr. David Davis; and Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Mrs. Pernell King-Rolle.
