Sydney will be lashed by thunderstorms and rain for the next 10 days in a soggy end to summer across Australia's east coast.
NSW will receive a drenching, with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting an 80 per cent chance of rain every day this week and beyond.
Similar conditions are expected to affect southeast Queensland with the unsettled weather pattern caused by a humid mass of air sitting across the eastern seaboard.

By contrast, Melbourne is looking at a mixed week of sunny and partly cloudy days, with the temperature forecast to hit 32C on Wednesday.
An inland trough driven by a southerly cold front is expected to produce heavy falls of rain across NSW until the end of the week.
The middle of this week will have the heaviest falls, with up to 50mm of rain forecast for Sydney across Tuesday and Wednesday.
The NSW Central Coast and the Hunter region are also expected to cop heavy downfalls with the prospect of flash flooding in some areas.

In Queensland, the weather bureau forecasts storms early in the week will turn to rain showers later in the week.
The state's south-east will experience its wettest days on Thursday and Friday, with the possibility of 40mm of rain across both days in Brisbane.
The showers will continue into the weekend before clearing up early next week.
While Melbourne will be mostly dry this week, there is a possibility of rain towards the end of the week and on the weekend, with up to 4mm forecast for Sunday.
Canberra will experience similar days to Melbourne, mostly cloudy, with the chance of showers increasing towards the end of the week and temperatures in the mid to high 20s.

Adelaide will be sunny and hot with temperatures in the early 30s most of the week.
Hobart is forecast for showers on Monday with a maximum temperature of just 17C but it will warm up to 28C and mostly sunny by Wednesday.
Perth's record-breaking runs of heat continues with hot, sunny days above 30C for all of this week, with a forecast of 37C on Thursday.
On Sunday, it matched a record set in 1977 to 78 of 31 days above or equal to 35C this summer.
It has also sweltered through a record 13 days this season where the temperature has reached 40C.
