Summer School Day 2: Rainbow

One of our favorite regular educational series is our set of Summer School classes. Understanding and internalizing different design concepts allows you to bring your ideas to life. With a little practice, these ideas will quickly become intuitive, leading your card designs to come together with minimal effort.

During this series, we’ll bring you videos and projects designed to help you understand these basic principles, and incorporate them into your own crafting. Not only do you get to put your student hat on, your participation means you also are in the running to win an MFT shopping spree! Keep reading for today's lesson, and all the details for submitting homework for your chance to win.

Today’s Lesson: Rainbow

When choosing a color scheme, particularly for a bright & happy occasion, you simply cannot go wrong with a rainbow. There is something so comforting and cheer-inducing about that ROYGBIV arrangement — whether you opt for traditionally vivid hues or tone things down with pastels, a rainbow is never a bad choice.

Stephanie is here today to share a trio of artsy cards featuring a die-cut rainbow of paint splotches. Color-matching the paintbrush tip with her card base for each version is an inspired detail that helps maintains a cohesive look while still keeping things interesting when you're creating multiples of a similar design.
