This is a brilliant and encouraging way to set and reach your goals. Crystal provides ideas to help you choose a goal that is simple, realistic, attainable and measurable. She provides a great breakdown on how to reach your goals once you have chosen them. The book strongly encourages you to keep your goals simple and not to overwhelm yourself or set yourself up for failure. Also along the way are encouraging notes about how to recover if you "fall off the wagon" while attempting to reach your goal. The book is very basic, but can be applied to anything you are desiring to do with your life from waking up 5 minutes earlier each day, to running a marathon.

Very good book and some great challenges. This would be a perfect book to start your New Years resolutions. It was highly recommended to me, and I suggest the same for anyone interested in stretching themselves to greater discipline.

This is a book based on the author's own experiences with disorganization. Her epiphany came when she realized that buying organizational items was not going to solve the problem, but changing her habits were. It's not a long book, but her writing style and suggestions on achieving personal discipline moved me to action. My least favorite chore is doing dishes, but following her habit-changing directives led me to learning to do them regularly and that was a big achievement for me. Each of us has something we dislike doing, and this book can help you learn to develop discipline so you become able to do it just fine. This discipline spills over into other areas of your life almost automatically. You'd be surprised how your mind opens up as you see that the words "I can't" change to "I can." That's not a campaign slogan; it's a more positive way to approach life and get things done. Do I see less angst and more happiness in your future? It's only 21 days, after all.

This book is excellent. And very simple which is what I need. I made the mistake she cites early on in her book: ie. ran out bought 6 books on organization, got plastic bins, etc and overwhelmed myself

Started following her simple suggestions which in turn got me moving in the right direction. She helps to take the "overwhelming" out of organizing.

I came across a bargain deal on this book, so I decided I would download it and try it out. I did so, with mixed results.

I did structure my reading so that I read one chapter each day for 21 days. Each chapter is about three pages, plus an additional page follow up on a "mega project."

While the information in each of the chapters was okay and occasionally helpful, there were a couple of key factors that were very distracting to me.

First, the author seems to have assumed that the only readers of this book are women, so she used feminine pronouns and references. That's not really a problem, but some of the references included items about fixing your hair and doing your makeup. As a man with a shaved head, it was rather hard to relate.

Second, the references seemed to focus primarily around stay-at-home moms, with projects and tasks associated around that. That means that many of the recommendations included references to cleaning the house, organization, and planning around childrens' activities. Again, that's not really a problem if that's what you're looking for and expecting. However, the references to business tasks only seemed to refer to the work-at-home moms who run their own business or have complete flexibility in the work they do (such as talking about working early in the morning so that you can have more time available in the day for kids' activities). Even many of the work-from-home moms that I know do not always have that kind of flexibility - they may need to have a structured schedule to be available for client communications. The inclusion of directly work-related recommendations were a small percentage of the recommendations.

So, with those caveats, the book could be helpful for the stay-at-home mom either with no other job, or with a flexible at-home job (e.g. blogging, writing for publication, etc.). For my reference, I could only rate this as okay. There were a few helpful points, but many of the recommendations just were not relevant for me.

This book has practical, step-by-step help to get yourself moving. It's not just a "this is what you should do" book. She starts by having you make a list of things you want changed in your life. Then you pick ONE, and she helps you get started actually doing it. Good tips on how to REALLY (in real life - not just my head) be more disciplined.

I would absolutely recommend this book. I follow Crystal's blog which is great so it comes as no surprise that this book is just as good. She has accomplished so much at a young age, I'm sure, because she does what she writes about. Not only is there lots of wisdom in these pages, but it is an easy read, too.

Very good, down to earth book. An easy comfortable read without any condescending attitude. The author even mentions things she's not so good at but working on to improve, which makes you feel quite at ease. There's quite a lot of links in the book to websites which, although American, can be quite useful and she does explain about how forming habits in 21 days works and how not to feel overwhelmed with trying. The book is based on home life which makes a pleasant change from most of this kind of book.

3.0 out of 5 stars good book and concept...just could have done without the religious overtures.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 18, 2013
I did really find the concept and premise of this book great - tackling one small habit change at a time and breaking down big tasks into small ones until they become completed. Sure - it's all been covered in many other books, but the simplicity of this one and the day by day approach was great. My only gripe was constantly having to be reminded of the author's religious fervour, which was at least unnecessary and at most annoying - it did not add any value whatsoever to the book for me.
