Fly me to the moon 3D

Watched Fly me to the Moon in 3D at INOX Malleshwaram with friends some days back. Lots of stuff to entertain in 3D, at times it looked better than movies that were originally made in 3D as opposed to converting an old 2D movie into 3D.

The movie is a good entertainer and is all about how 3 flies fly to the moon aboard the spacecraft sent on a lunar landing mission :)

The movie also has one of the poorest jokes i have ever heard :P The joke goes something similar to the lines below

Grand Pa: Out of the 5 flies, 3 were women and 2 were men!
Junior Flies: How do you know grandpa?
Grand Pa: Simple! 2 were on vehicles and 3 were on Phone!

I ever tell you I once flew across
the Atlantic Ocean with Amelia Earhart?

About a hundred times.

You wanna hear it
a hundred and one times?

Sure. I love that story, Grandpa.

How to Train Your Dragon 3D

Wonderful movie. Loved the 3D quality. There were some really cute dragons in the movie ;)

That's for kidnapping me.

Astrid: That's for everything else.

Wanna go dirt biking? Go to places where BBMP contractors conduct any work...

Rode straight into a huge mud pile tonight while riding back from office i was almost close to home on the service road stretch from Ganganagar to Hebbal!

Courtesy : The morons who were contracted to fill up the dividers between the highway and the service roads with mud who decided to leave the mud pile without any kind of notification board or any barricades! And these piles were lying there for at least 3-4 days without anyone attending to them.

The road was so low on lighting that the pile appeared as road till just a meter away from it! Luckily i escaped with a minor bruise on the right leg, thanks to the crash guard on my bike and stayed without tripping off from the bike.

At least to save the citizens, BBMP has to order these contractors to urge them to barricade or at least put a sign board or a reflector board or it has to itself put the following board at places which it conducts any kind of work across Bangalore.

Though writing on a bad note, i am happy i have resumed blogging :D

Know your Java @ GIDS

Posting this from my mobile live right from the J N Tata Auditorium, Indian institute of science, Bangalore where the Great Indian Developer Summit is going on this week. First session was an interesting talk on CLOUD COMPUTING. The second session called ''Know your Java'' by Venkat Subramanian was probably one of the best sessions i have attended till date. It was a highly interactive session and Venkat used a very unique style of presentation which kept the audience enthralled till the end. Venkat also gave away some books to people who voluntreered,

Orkut's look revamped!

India shows thumbs down to M$ open format

India has done a great job by deciding to vote a "NO" to Microsoft's OOXML(Open Office Extensible Mark Up Language) document format against the ODF(Open Document Format) proposed by a lot other companies who believe in openness. This war of formats has been going on for several months now. The voting will be held at the International Standards Organisation (ISO) in Geneva on September 2 and about 123 counties are participating in the vote.

Ready to Browse the Web in 3D???

Folks at SpaceTime have stirred up how you browse the Web by offering a free application that lets you browse in 3D! The idea is pretty simple, rather than to have a 2D layout of your browser with tabs all over the place, SpaceTime breaks the "pages" out like a storyboard in 3D space. It's impractical if you're looking at a single page, but if you're doing a search, it'll stack your search hits in 3D thus making it easier to see them all at once. It'll do the same for your eBay searches, letting you browse through photos of the stuff you want to buy.

Cool eh? check it out here!

Penguins have to still wait since at the moment, this application is available for PCs only.

iPhone fever?

Got iPhone fever? While the only prescription is an actual iPhone, there's a Slide 2 Unlock application for Windows Mobile which should hold you over until the 29th. It is a Windows Mobile start screen application that allows you to swipe your finger/stylus across the screen to unlock the phone, iPhone style. Can be found here!
