At least 118 officers leave Seattle Police Department in 2020: report

At least 118 officers have separated from the Seattle police department this year, according to a report on Thursday.
The separations included lateral-moves to other agencies and retirements. The bulk included those who resigned.
“Your 911 call for help will go unanswered for a significant amount of time,” Seattle Police Officer Guild President Mike Solan told the Jason Rantz Show on Seattle’s KTTH.
The 39 seperations occurred in September after the Seattle City Council made good on its promise to approve sweeping proposals that would slash the police department budget by $4 million and cut as many as 100 officers from the force.
The previous four months saw a high of 16 separations in August, compared to a low of 10 in both May and July. There have been at least eight separations in October so far, a source told Rantz
Ex-Chief Carmen Best was reportedly included in the data after she left her position on Sept. 3, amid a tumultuous last few months on the job, highlighted by protests against systemic racism and police violence, following the death of George Floyd in police custody on May 25 in Minneapolis.
Best said, on her way out, that the city council’s police budget cuts had put her in a “position destined to fail,” reports said.
Following the mass exodus, there are roughly 1,200 Seattle police officers in service, Rantz said.

As I have said before, it is a stupid and foolish thing to defund and dismantle Police Departments. All it will result in is a dramatic increase in crime and anarchy. A lot of police recognize that they are hated and despised by both people and the government, especially antifa and black lives matter. As a result any police officer that is able to retire will retire. Also any police officer who can get into some other line of work will get into another line of work. As a result the United States will reap the serious consequences of hating and defunding and dismantling the Police. Or to put in in simple words this will destroy the United States of America.

…while at the same time…the elites in those cities will hire private security…..for triple what they have to pay in taxes for a police force….at which point they will take huge tax deductions…..and then the state goes broke….the fools there don’t think past their nose….and the citizens either need to take over….or suffer the consequences…..

Who would want to work for a city that degrades its police, threatens to defund and fire its police force, and always takes the side of the criminals?
George Floyd didn’t die by cop: he died of meth along with a Fentanyl overdose. For this, or any other excuse that would come along, the Marxist BLM and socialist movement Antifa played their cards and were lucky to find Democrat cities and states run by useful idiots that give them free rein. Add to that a “woke” population and its the police who must live in fear. Even worse is that if the police do policing or defend themselves they can face prosecution and/or firing.

Our small southern town needed a barber. We got one from Seattle! There are plenty of openings for good cops. The pay is less but so is the cost of living. And cops are appreciated here.
