Chris Wallace Just Gave The Most Embarrassing Moderator Performance In History

‘Well, first of all, I guess I’m debating you, not him,’ Trump said to Chris Wallace during Tuesday’s 2020 presidential debate. Fact check: True.

By Kylee Zempel, The Federalist, September 30, 2020:

Debating one person is difficult, especially if he’s had oodles of alone time in his basement to prepare while you’ve been a little busy leading the country. Debating that person and a partisan media hack at the same time is just BS.

That, however, was President Donald Trump’s exact plight Tuesday night at the first 2020 presidential debate, when he was treated to a two-on-one showdown with his actual opponent Joe Biden and his honorary rival, Fox News moderator Chris Wallace.

Wallace failed to maintain any control over the debate. Even members of the left pointed out what a chaotic “disgrace” the whole ordeal was. But after a while, it was hard to pay attention to anything but Wallace’s Biden bias. Media moderators playing favorites with presidential contenders is nothing new, but Wallace’s persistent partisanship reached a new low.

From interrupting Trump but not Biden at nearly every turn, blocking the incumbent before he could correct mischaracterizations and flat-out lies from Biden, to full-throated arguments with the president despite lobbing soft-ball questions — or no questions at all — to the former vice president, Wallace’s presentation was appalling.

Wallace Did the Left’s Bidding

Who needs the leftist media swarming to fact-check Trump’s claims from this debate when you have Wallace to recycle long-debunked claims? “Vice President Biden, you say that President Trump’s response to the violence in Charlottesville three years ago, when he talked about ‘very fine people on both sides’ was what directly led you to launch this run for president,” Wallace said, framing his question as a Trump attack using a false leftist talking point to smear Trump as a white supremacist sympathizer.

During the same segment, Wallace employed more Democrat talking points in what proved to be one of the most egregious exchanges of the night. Earlier this month, the Trump administration rightly announced it would be prohibiting federal agencies from subjecting their employees to woke “critical race theory” and “white privilege” seminars. Although critical race theory is itself a racist and toxic framework of social study, which posits that white people are guilty oppressors based only on the color of their skin and therefore lends itself to extreme “remedies” (such as looting as reparations), Wallace framed it nicely as “racial sensitivity training.”

“This month, your administration directed federal agencies to end racial sensitivity training that addresses white privilege or critical race theory,” Wallace said, couching critical race theory with the unobjectionable “racial sensitivity” phrase. “Why did you decide to do that — to end racial sensitivity training?” Wallace doubled down on the term. The implication, of course, is that Trump himself is insensitive to racial issues.

“I ended it because it’s racist,” Trump replied, factually. “A lot of people were complaining that they were asked to do things that were absolutely insane, that it was a radical revolution that was taking place in our military, in our schools, all over the place.”

Trump’s statements were true, but the truth wasn’t good enough for Wallace, who asked like a genuine leftist, “What is radical about racial sensitivity training?”

Trump didn’t take the bait. “They were teaching people to hate our country, and I’m not going to do that,” Trump said. “I’m not going to allow that to happen.”

Several times, Trump tried to talk about Biden’s scandalous family business dealings concerning his son Hunter, which presented a gross conflict of interest while Biden was in office during the Obama administration. After Biden repeatedly lied, saying it was “simply not true” that Hunter received $3.5 million from the wife of the ex-mayor of Moscow — in fact, a wire transfer and a Senate report revealed that’s exactly what happened — Wallace always deflected, closing out segments before Biden faced too much heat.

“We’ve already been through this,” Wallace interrupted. “I think the American people would rather hear about more substantial subjects. … I’d like to talk about climate change.”

“So would I,” Biden replied. That worked out well. Of course, Wallace then proceeded to debate Trump on climate change, touting Obama’s Clean Power Plan and using language seemingly intended to paint Trump as a science denier.

We don’t need Critical Race theory training.
What we need in society is ETHICS classes for journalists.

And, Instead of racial BIAS training, journalists need BIAS training period. so they don’t “racialize” the news.

Until then, political Racial Healing is just a unicorn dream.

Looking at James Comey, I think he needs a few ethics classes too.

Comey reminds me of Euthyphro the self-satisfied prosecutor debated by Socrates in Plato’s writings. Ultimately, the swamp in ancient Greece put Socrates to death. His attacks on the Sophists whom, I believe, represented the swamp mentality of that time caused Socrates to come under attack by the ruling class. “Don’t challenge us Soc!!” they said to him. “If you do, you’re going to get a cup of hemlock poison in your chicken soup!”

Thanks. I teach philosophers of Ethics. Most of the students don’t even know what I’m talking about. The readings are as obscure to them as Chinese. An older student — a mother of three in her thirties — said that she had had the course before and received an F. Why? Because she says she spoke out in class and told the professor that she was there to study ethics, not to be brainwashed into being a communist. To be fair (I want to be ethical) I have not heard his side of the story.

A study of the schools of ethics in my classes includes eudaemonist ethics, command ethics, utilitarian ethics, deontological ethics, existential ethics (if this one indeed deserves to be called ethics), and Marxist anti-ethics would be useful for the population going forward.

Abraham Maslow who is a liberal, borderline Marxist in my opinion, reduces much of ethics to “needs” in his hierarchy of values. Morality is one of his 27 categories, so following his understanding of social adjustment and mental health, morality is not as central as it was prior to WWII in America.

However, the writings in ethical history may be too difficult for today’s reading levels, and most people seem to think everybody has a different view, namely that people should just be “good people” as though it were obvious what that is. Each one goes after his own way, and even thieves and murderers justify themselves with the thought that the cards are stacked against them, and they have to eat, have to pay the rent, have to have a little enjoyment like everybody else. Thus, given the context of need (Maslow and Marx), crime is not as bad as it might seem to bourgeois society that justifies private property.

Too late for this election, but in 4 years we need to get this under control. It’s been this way my whole life. There’s never been a conservative moderator. And we can quit having leftist universities host them as far as I’m concerned. I’d rather a hockey rink.

Democrats Backpedal on Voting by Mail
https://www.theepochtimes.com/democrats-backpedal-on-voting-by-mail_3522744.html

After initially singing the praises of voting by mail in the Nov. 3 elections, some Democratic Party leaders are reluctantly backing away from the idea as enthusiasm for that method of voting fades. Pennsylvania’s Democratic Lt. Gov. John Fetterman blames Republicans for the declining interest in voting by mail, accusing them of exaggerating problems associated with sending ballots through the mail.

Pelosi Raises Possibility of Becoming Acting President in Election Chaos
https://www.theepochtimes.com/pelosi-raises-possibility-of-becoming-acting-president-in-election-chaos_3522182.html

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) raised the long-shot possibility that she could become the acting president if neither President Donald Trump or Democratic nominee Joe Biden receives enough electoral votes to declare victory on November 3, 2020. On Oct. 1, the speaker told reporters that she is preparing the House for a possible role in determining the winner with a vote by each state’s delegation. “We have all sorts of opportunities,” she said.

Well I guess a peaceable transfer of power without election fraud looks pretty murky now.
The problem is that the vote counting for the House won’t be finished for weeks. Neither the Presidential counts nor the House counts will be finished. So neither Trump nor Biden can be declared the winner. And therefore, Pelosi will have no authority to do a House vote to choose the President. And once the vote count is done, there will be a clear winner, unless the Dems cheat on the counting. But if they cheat, why not cheat in favor of a clear Biden win?.
Pelosi seems very confused about what she can and cannot do, and she is fantasizing that somehow the Trump – Biden count will be completely finished before January, and it will be an exact tie. But that’s silly, it’s really improbable. “We have all sorts of opportunities” was a very dangerous thing for Pelosi to say. Because she displays intent to manipulate events to make sure that Biden wins.
And any effort by Pelosi to just arbitrarily grab the Interim Presidency after the election is unconstitutional and unlawful. The Founders made it clear that sometimes the citizenry will have to act to restore the Constitution, and no law forbids that. Furthermore, the 10th Amendment says “..or to the people.” If nobody else will act to fix the problem, then the citizenry must do it, under a Constitutional mandate.

ATTACK QUESTION … nice job CHRIS – your check from the DNC is in the mail …
“New Report” … more fake news propaganda …

CHRIS WALLACE: Gentlemen, we’re going to get to your economic plans going forward in a moment, but first, Mr. President, as you well know, there’s a new report that in 2016, the year you were elected president, and 2017, your first year as president, that you paid $750 a year in federal income tax each of those years. I know that you pay a lot of other taxes, but I’m asking you this specific question. Is it true that you paid $750 in federal income taxes each of those two years?

TRUMP’S ANWER – – JOE’S FAULT I used legal tax regulations …
DONALD TRUMP: Chris, let me just say something, that it was the tax laws. I don’t want to pay tax. Before I came here, I was a private developer, I was a private business people. Like every other private person, unless they’re stupid, they go through the laws, and that’s what it is. He passed a tax bill that gave us all these privileges for depreciation and for tax credits. We build the building and we get tax credits, like the hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue. Which by the way, was given to me by the Obama administration, if you can believe that. Now the man got fired right after that happened, but that’s-

CHRIS WALLACE: Vice President Biden, you want to respond?

JOE BIDEN: Yeah, I do want to respond. Look, the tax code that put him in a position that he pays less tax than on the money a school teacher makes is because of him… He says he’s smart because he can take advantage of the tax code. And he does take advantage of the tax code. That’s why I’m going to eliminate the Trump tax cuts. And I’m going to eliminate those tax cuts.

Mr. Mark Levin gives a damning analysis* of the Debate, Wallace and (China bought) Biden. Debate, or was it a set-up ambush?

He has burned-in memory of of Joe’s manner of attacks and under-handed tactics, the nasty old man has employed in the past, as during Bork and Thomas hearings, and on other occasions. (He points out, the President was probably well-informed to his dirty style of interchange: Bribery Biden, a name-calling “brawler and hustler”.)

To my mind, fake-Joe is an aged-version of one of his street-punk supporters in a suit. Facial expressions, low-uttered derision, interruptions, contemptuous laughs,…

What you might expect from a juvenile schoolyard bully; a name-caller and a lair! — LIES threading false-inversions of reality, mostly what spewed forth and spun-out of his truth-challenged puppet-mouth!

A disgusting man! Age has not bestowed any honor on that nasty piece of work. A man who stinks to the Stratosphere with CORRUPTION.

They are on their way to becoming another CNN, and it is full steam ahead. Murdoch’s oldest alt left son runs the network now, and Paul Ryan has his ear. They fired Trish Regan and told Diamond and Silk they couldn’t be on anymore. Certain guests of Hannity aren’t allowed on anymore. Certain people are being told that if they can’t be more towards the left, they will be let go. Melissa Francis and Kennedy are prime examples. John Roberts gave himself up the other day. Harris Faulkner has been compromised twice, and she might be with them now also. You are correct. They need to fire Wallace to stop the network ratings from going on a downward spiral, but they are going to use it to cement themselves as an anti Trump network. If Biden wins, Tucker, Hannity, Lou and Laura will be bought out. They’ll get rid of Levin, Watters and probably the Judge. It is infuriating.

If large numbers of viewers switch channels every time Wallace appears on Fox’s screens, would the dropping numbers of viewers over a period of time convince Fox to get someone else with higher retention numbers to replace Wallace?

Usually a debate consists of one person getting time to answer the question, then the other person gets equal time for their point of view, and the first person gets some time to reply to the other person. That didn’t happen. Hence the brawl. What idiot came up with this genius (sarcasm) concept of a “debate” where there is no chance for reply, especially to lies and personal attacks?

Biden was the first to interrupt, did so three times before Trump did likewise. Wallace seemed only interested in blaming Trump for Wallace’s mess.

Fox should really have sent Bret Bear to moderate. Can’t really see anyone more fair, more balanced, knowledgeable, and honest. He would have asked equally difficult questions, and have more control as he would probably allow responses rather than leaving it to sniping by either side.

Biden would not even look at Trump, which is strange for a debate. Talk about Hunter and
Biden goes crazy talking about Beau. Hunter was tossed from the military because of his behaviour and drugs; Biden calls that a lie and then goes on about many families having problems. Right. And the $3.5 million from a woman in Moscow tied to criminal enterprise?

Biden brings up media lies about Trump, and Trump doesn’t have a chance to respond. Trump bring up something about Biden and Biden lies saying that its either not true or proven false. Before Trump can expand on it, Wallace cuts him off. So much for being fair and balanced. Bucking for a job at CBS? Wants to step into his father’s shoes?

Too bad Trump didn’t get it out about Biden extorting the Ukraine government. He was beginning but Wallace saved Biden’s ass.

Trump kept his cool more than Biden. If Trump gave Biden more time, I’m certain Biden would have hung himself, even with Wallace there to save him from himself. The more Biden talks uninterrupted he more he begins to blow it.

Did Biden answer any of the questions with a direct answer? Will he stack the Supreme Court? Green new deal? (First he saiid he would implement it, then reversed himself.) Apparently he took a page from Pelosi and Obama that first you vote and then you will be able to learn what his policies and plans are.

Next debate will be a town hall. Probably stacked by Democrats and Dems pretending to be Republicans. Terrible format, and moderated by a former Biden intern. Oh joy! Conflict of interest, anyone?

No matter what, Trump will have more than Biden to contend with. He will have moderator’s questions that are there to torpedo him and not Biden, and if its a town hall it is stacked against him.

They want to give the moderator a mic kill switch. Kill Trump replying to a provocation and used to save Biden when he starts to fall apart. Just great.

Biden appeared alert for the first time in months. Whatever drugs he was on, how do we get our hands on them? It took the Dems long enough for figure out the right concoction to make Biden appear near mentally fit.
