This is not a surprise. Much of the Hollywood Left is absolutely vicious. Bette Midler in particular is a revolting pig. By the way, the First Lady was spectacular last night. She was the highlight of the night.
After Melania’s speech, Bette Midler said “She still can’t speak English.”
Author Tomi Ahonen called her a “hooker,” and a “tramp.”
And former Dem Coalition Chair Jon Cooper made fun of her appearance.

First Lady Melania Trump’s appearance during the Republican National Convention on Tuesday brought out the worst in Hollywood celebrities who used her speech as an opportunity to crack jokes and insult everything from her White House initiatives, including #BeBest, to her status as an immigrant.
Stars including Bette Midler, Sarah Silverman, Bradley Whitford, Michael Rapaport, and Josh Charles participated in the social media pile on as they attempted to assert their superiority over the First Lady and prove just how clever they can be.
Bette Midler snarked “#beBust” while also mocking Melania Trump’s command of the English language. “Get that illegal alien off the stage!”

Mail-in voting will confuse and delay the voting results so badly that many election results will NEVER be known.
✅ The Dems originally wanted to control what votes get counted, to distort the vote
✅ And with no results at all, existing, hated Democrat politicos can keep their jobs
✅ And this will prevent Republicans from producing a landslide victory
✅ But it will also force the continuance of Trump, and force a second vote

In 2006, Wikiquote dug up such a source: The Memoirs of Stalin’s Former Secretary
by Boris Bazhanov, published in 2002. Translated from the Russian, the version which, according to Bazhanov, was uttered in 1923 by Stalin in reference to a vote in the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, was this:
“I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this — who will count the votes, and how.”
The quote is a rough match for the words commonly attributed to Stalin, with the notable difference that the context is quite specific.
Stalin wasn’t speaking of elections and voting in general. He was speaking of a particular vote by a particular body.
While it would be a bit of a stretch to assert (given the vagaries of translation, the unreliability of memory, and the existence of earlier examples) that the sentiment “The people who cast the votes decide nothing; the people who count the votes decide everything” originated
with Stalin, there is at least some evidence that he once said something like it.

Reble: I agree, in spite of translation nuances, there is evidence that Stalin said it, and meant it generally, because Soviet elections were often distorted by miscounting. That problem continues in Russia today. Here are some more versions of the statement:

Socialist non-scholars like Snopes often descend into ‘the defense of detail’, that is designed to entangle the argument in meaningless sophistry. I fact, Stalin meant it, and did it, and had good reason to do it, namely this dictum: “Morality is that which furthers the revolution”.
Therefore, the statement is a good summary of Stalin’s behavior, no matter how it was actually phrased.
