De Blasio brushes off NYC bakery manager who tells him, ‘We’re all hurting’

22

It’s always sad to see a small business owner suffer like this. However, the citizens of New York City are not blameless. They voted for Bill de Blasio not once, but twice. New Yorkers need to stop supporting the Democrat Party. And the Republican Party must find a candidate who is capable of taking on the Left in next year’s mayoral election. The world’s greatest city must not be allowed to go up in flames.

De Blasio ‘brushes off’ NYC bakery manager who tells him, ‘We’re all hurting’

‘Just a difference of opinion, that’s the bottom line. … That’s very unfortunate.’

By The Blaze, August 14, 2020
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) was stopped by a bakery manager while walking through Chinatown on Wednesday, and video of the exchange indicates the mayor was anxious to leave the conversation over what he called “a difference of opinion.”

The manager explained that the lockdowns amid COVID-19 have killed businesses, saying, “We’re all hurting,” and arguing that people need “confidence.”

What are the details?

Footage of the conversation was posted online by New York Post reporter Elizabeth Meryl Rosner, and shows the manager — later identified as Patrick Mock — telling de Blasio, “We’ve been taking a hit since January. We lost our Chinese New Year, our busiest day of the year of our community. The most festive holiday that we have.

“Then COVID happened,” he continued. “Now, we’re all hurting so bad. What we need is people’s confidence.”

Someone off camera pushed back against the manager’s claims, and de Blasio turned to walk away while telling Mock, “It’s just a difference of opinion, that’s the bottom line

“We need help, we need more confidence,” Mock pressed.

Then de Blasio turned his back, saying, “That’s very unfortunate.”

According to Meryl Rosner, Mock told her after the exchange, “[de Blasio] brushed me off.” He added that the mayor “was only in Chinatown today for a ‘photo op mission.'”

A Twitter user identifying herself as a special education teacher in New York City reacted to the exchange, saying, “This is Patrick Mock of 46 Mott who gave out free meals to Chinatown residents from end of March to mid-June to make sure Chinatown was okay. @NYCMayor you turning your back on our Chinatown and to Patrick is not okay.”

Chinatown isn’t the only part of New York City where businesses are hurting from the dramatic loss of foot traffic brought on by the strict coronavirus lockdowns. The New York Times reported Tuesday that retailers and restaurants are fleeing Manhattan, saying the high cost of doing business in the city along with a drastic drop in crowds makes staying there “unsustainable.”

Tourism has also come to a screeching halt in The Big Apple, contributing further to the loss of sales. But most of the people who do make the trek to the city are not allowed to roam: De Blasio has set up checkpoints at entrances to screen visitors and enforce the 14-day quarantine required of anyone coming from 35 states considered COVID-19 hot spots according to directives by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D).

Small business has ALWAYS been the main target of the Marxists wherever they are. Such makes people independent of government and , heaven forbid, rewards hard work with money. The globalists dislike it as it still allows a potential passageway (not for a baker) into the elite as some such can grow into very large business’s (Amazon ) forcing entry. They see this as undesirable and they wish to make it near impossible now so as to keep their share size. This is why they are allowing the democrat and leftist (& muslim) fools everywhere too run amok: to create a NWO with everyone non elite as serfs who work like dogs for the elite to keep them supplied with their needs. Of course to do so they will have to cull us down to a billion or two and Wuhan flu has badly failed on its first run but there will be more in the pipeline plus a few nasty wars to distract us all from what they are doing.

Yes, Marx called small business the ‘petit bourgeoisie’ [little capitalists], and he underestimated their economic power. Marx did not realize that about 75% of all business is small business. Lenin found out he could not enlist their support, so he sidelined them. Stalin vilified, attacked, and liquidated millions of prosperous petit bourgeoisie farmer ‘Kulaks’. The Nazis permitted small businesses, as long as they toed the Nazi Party line.

So this systematic attack on small business has evolved over time, as the Left realizes that most small business people are conservatives.

Everyone had to toe the line in Nazi Germany. Heisenberg, the great German physicist was arrested on suspicion of being Jewish. Werner Von Braun was arrested because he was felt to have more interest in space flight than defeating the enemies of the Third Reich. Martin Niemöller, a Lutheran pastor and WW1 German navy veteran, was influential in building opposition to Adolf Hitler’s efforts to bring the German churches under control of the Nazis and the so-called German Christians. He was arrested by the Gestapo in 1937 and spent the rest of the war in concentration camps before he was moved to a prison in Austria and released by the allies.

YES! Thank you for this lengthy but important piece. As the Mises Institute says, “The Nazis owned the individual” and therefore the Nazis owned the means of production. One key way the Left attempts to differentiate between the Nazis and Communists is that the Nazis did not own the businesses. But that is untrue, they DID own the businesses, because they owned everything, by owning the people.

And as an Epoch Times piece just pointed out recently, the ChiComs do the same as the Nazis. They own the individual, and all substantial business is subject to direct control by having Party officials embedded in the management, as required by law. This applies to TiK-Tok, and every other Chinese business that trades with the USA.

Small business are the largest supporters of Conservative politics world wide. No surprise that leftist governments at every level would use COVID as the excuse to declare most all small business to be non-essential and ordered them shut down – is leftist sfear of retribution not the real reason for wanting to ban firearms ownership?

Isn`t it possible to organize a recall vote in NYC to try to remove De Blasio from office? (the same should be done in L.A., S.F., Seattle, Portland and all cities run by their demented dem mayors)

The Governor of NY State, the Mayor of New York, Joe Biden and Harris support COVID mismanagement and the BLM ANTIFA thugs,,,This is an election Year? This is how the Democrats treat their voters? The DNC has deliberately put together unelectable candidates and in no way wants to win the election. Democrat Governors and
mayors in blue states have deliberately hurt the Democrat voter base and are continuing to hurt them! The Democrats do not want to win they are just pretending. The Dems are now running a fake election campaign. Why?

They believe Obama set up the world economy to tank for Globalism in 2021 and don’t want to be in power when it does.

Demoncrat/Lieberal mayors and elected offices are a skurg to the nations of the world. I haven’t read where any politician has taken a hit and in fact have voted themselves raises. Maybe it’s time they took a massive pay cut, then they could actually say the know how the people feel
