You can watch both parts on Facebook.  For the second part you may have to log in again.
For the England GRO (Government Records Office) presentation, learn how to use England's civil registration birth and death records to find information about your English ancestors and their families.  The GRO can help you: find mother's maiden names, discover missing children that died before the next census, separate families that have been improperly merged in FamilySearch, identify more accurate birth years than provided in the census, and find other useful information.

DANA and CINDY HENRIKSEN have been heavily involved in family history for the last 10+ years.  They have been managing the Lindon Shared Stakes Family History Center as Assistant Directors/Directors for nearly six years and were consultants before that.  They were recently released and are now serving in a YSA (Young Single Adult) Ward.  They specialize in researching England, Sweden, and Denmark - home to many of their ancestors and distant cousins.  They were especially motivated to sharpen their research skills during the three plus years their daughter wanted 20 names a week to take to the temple for baptisms - it was quite the challenge to keep up with her.  They have spent a lot of time digitizing images of their ancestors.  It has been great for them to ride the wave of new technology and innovation for family history research.  With the great online resources available, they can do in minutes today what was impossible just a few years ago.

For the class, YOUTH AS TEMPLE AND FAMILY HISTORY CONSULTANTS, taught by MARILYN THOMSEN, she will remind us of Elder David A. Bednar's 2020 RootsTech talk that youth don't need to listen to adults tell them how great this work is, or your turn is coming.  They need to be anxiously engaged in this work right now to move it across the world."  She will provide some real examples and tips for wards to actively use and empower their youth as consultants.  Count on the blessings resulting from youth doing family history.  Marilyn Thomsen is an enthusiastic teacher and a confessed snoop who loves helping uncover secrets hiding in family trees.  She served an Internship at Georgia's National Archive Regional Center to complete her BA from BYU ('05) with a Family History focus on US Southern research. Twice she won BYU's Family History of the Year Award researching and writing about her Pioneer ancestors.  She has served as a Church Family History Service Missionary in the Salt Lake Family History Library and in the FamilySearch's Facebook Community.  She and her husband, Richard, love traveling and have researched family in the Southern USA, Isle of Man, Ireland, Denmark and England.  Currently, they are Family History Center Directors and love involving their grandchildren in family history.  For the last year, Marilyn has been the editor of UVTAGG's newsletter, TAGGology.
All meetings of the Group are open to the public with the goal of helping people use technology to further their family and personal history.  Details and the link to watch online are on the UVTAGG webpage https://www.uvtagg.org/   and on the UVTAGG Facebook page.  The blog and press releases are at http://blog.uvtagg.org/  and you can subscribe there to receive them by email.  Members of the Group ($15/year) receive additional benefits such as the  monthly email newsletter TAGGology and access to the more than 400 videos of past presentations and classes.  TAGGology contains a wealth of information for Temple and Family History Consultants and free sample copies can be requested on the UVTAGG website.  Officers are Gerhard Ruf, President; Laurie Castillo, 1st VP; Don Snow, 2nd VP; Don Engstrom, Secretary; Marilyn Thomsen, TAGGology Newsletter Editor; Rayanne Melick, Finance Officer; Don Engstrom, Membership Officer; Bruce Merrill and Jackson Andersen, Video and Librarians; Eileen Phelps, Special Projects Coordinator; Carol Hill, FamilySearch Facebook Coordinator; and Rick Wightman, Chris Stevenson, Brent Nelson, Jerry Castillo, and Rick Klemetson, Broadcast Specialists and Webmasters.  The Group is in its 30th year.  For further information contact President Gerhard Ruf at pres@uvtagg.org  (801-225-6106), or 1st VP Laurie Castillo at gengal@comcast.net , or 2nd VP Don Snow at snowd@math.byu.edu .
