Trump may deploy federal agents to Chicago this week: is Portland-style response an option?

Are a civilized country or not?

DO IT, Mr. President. Chicago’s citizens are being slaughtered because of the policies of a corrupt and pro-criminal mayor. Action must be taken.

Trump may deploy federal agents to Chicago this week: is Portland-style response an option?

If Trump sends a Portland-style military action to Chicago, it would represent a dramatic escalation between Trump and Mayor Lightfoot.

By Chicago Sun Times, July 20, 2020

President Donald Trump and his administration hinted Sunday that federal agents may be deployed to Chicago as soon as this week to crack down on protests and gun violence in a military-style response similar to Portland, Oregon.

If Trump sends a Portland-style action to Chicago, it would represent a dramatic escalation between Trump and Mayor Lori Lightfoot regarding how to deal with the city’s ongoing battles against gun violence and demonstrations against racial injustice and police brutality.

In a Sunday Twitter post, Trump said, “The Radical Left Democrats, who totally control Biden, will destroy our Country as we know it. Unimaginably bad things would happen to America. Look at Portland, where the pols are just fine with 50 days of anarchy. We sent in help. Look at New York, Chicago, Philadelphia. NO!”

Lightfoot on Monday said she has “great concerns” about the use of federal agents, given what had happened in Portland.

“We don’t need federal agents without any insignia taking people off the streets,” Lightfoot said at a morning news conference.

If Trump is sincere in helping, she said, he should so something about the fact that there are “way too many illegal guns on the streets” because they’re “flowing over the border” from Indiana and southern states.

He should empower the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco and Explosives to “do what they’re supposed to do — go after illegal gun sales,” Lightfoot said.

Do it! She will probably sue you. The swamp may go against you and try to impeach you but you have made your case of over ruling these corrupt, sadistic thugs in positions of power that resist you. The rational people will rejoice. Be our law and order President!

Is she mocking the police with her dress colors?
Compare that to the police flag.

If you are going to get a lasting peace, you will have to arrest the Mayor or make the CPD Commissioner do it. Charge her with “aiding and abetting” terrorism.

It would seem the no insignia and identifying information is to shield the law enforcement officers from frivolous lawsuits whilst they do their job. They will take a few off the street, give them a pep talk and perhaps scare the hell out of them with a verbal dressing down and send them home to Mommy.

Would the protesters prefer a Kent State moment? This is no longer about justice. It is about anarchy hoisted on the peaceful, law-abiding citizens who wish to have no part of it. I remain hesitant regarding “social justice” as it has morphed into a means for the lawless, and bullying herd to behave as rabble-rousing Bolsheviks and get away with it.

Mayor Lightfoot it’s not the guns. One more time, it’s not the guns. Take away the guns, the same people (gangs whom you know their ID bur refuse to arrest under RICO) will resort to bombs, knives lead pipe and other ingenious methods including car bombs and the soon driverless cars (bombs) so the problem you don’t want to attack are the gangs in the neighborhoods. You don’t want to incarcerate Black, Hispanic AND White People to long or life sentences under RICO for being part of and profiting from a criminal enterprise. Why. They terrorize their own neighborhoods, steal from their neighbors who have very little. Promote and profit from a drug trade that yields billions with revenue flowing back to Mexico and leaving death and destruction here. As for today, you are unwilling to assert governmental authority over violence perpetuated by Leftist organizations and sympathizers Antifa, BLM, White Leftists because you yourself sympathize with their cause even though they’re committing violent crimes assaulting’s the police and you’re ordering the police not to engage. In other words you are in breach of your basic Civic Duty of protecting the citizens of Chicago and that doesn’t mean violent rioters who in your mind are just demonstrators. The problem lies with YOU! The Federal Government is cleaning up your mess.

Michelle Malkin beaten by BLM thugs and prevented from speaking at Denver pro-police rally
By Peter Barry Chowka
July 20, 2020

Author (anti Trumper) and activist Michelle Malkin was brutally assaulted and prevented from speaking as she made her way to the speaker’s platform at a pro-police public rally in downtown Denver on Sunday. The patriotic event, the 6th Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Day billed as “family friendly,” was advertised in advance on social media including at Malkin’s Twitter, where she has 2.2 million followers.

Malkin was live-streaming the event from her cell phone on Periscope Sunday afternoon as the situation deteriorated after masked thugs wearing Black Lives Matter t-shirts assaulted two speakers and then set upon Malkin. A diminutive child of immigrants from the Philippines who legally moved to the U.S. in the late 1960s, Malkin, who was born in Philadelphia in 1970, describes herself as a “little brown woman” with a “big mouth.” Malkin linked to the entire 35-minute long Periscope video at her Twitter feed.

On the video, which had been viewed over 150,000 times by early Monday, several individuals identifying themselves as Black Lives Matter accost Malkin as one or more of them unfurl collapsible batons and begin pushing and beating on Malkin. In the process, she loses a shoe and is eventually assisted in escaping to a waiting car by the event’s security volunteers, at which point the video feed ends. Malkin was understandably distraught at this unanticipated violent turn of events and expressed frustration that Denver police, who were visibly present in the area, did nothing to stop the attacks or to allow the peaceful pro-police rally to continue.

(That is not a good sign when the police there allowed this to happen and it was a rally FOR the police.)

Malkin took special aim at a local Denver television news reporter who described the BLM “protesters” as meeting the pro-police rally with “opposing free speech.”

I wonder if the police would of intervened if a few patriots wielded baseball bats and beat these vermin senseless? It looks like there is no law in Denver so we must be prepared to defend ourselves, our families, our nation, our faith, and our civilization.

@felix: Have your changed tactics or has your name been abscounded with???? Perhaps your idea was not carried well enough with the words you have used. You state “Author (anti Trumper) and activist Michelle Malkin”. Mrs. Malkin has, for the most part, supported President Trump as she supports the Police.

Sure. You are the mayor and let this cancer grow but hey, blame Trump.

They bought guns legally in other states. Why would this be breaking their laws? Maybe breaking your law, but not the law in other states. Its the illegal guns and not the legal gun owners who are the problem. The legal gun owners need weapons to protect themselves since your main concerns seem to be getting your hair cut and showing off the Census Cowboy.

The First stop for the feds in Chicago is to arrest this POS Lightfoot for any number of crimes including obstructing justice, aiding and abetting and inciting murder and mayhem. Get the political vermin locked up first and the gangs lose their protection and can be disarmed and neutralized.

Of course blame the guns for crossing the border illegally. Much better to blame an inanimate object that can not defend itself than the murderers with brains.
Truly a sad state of affairs. I don’t know anyone who has had a gun get up one day and say “ I think I’ll go out and shoot someone today”

It is not state, nor local authority, to protect Federal Government property, and personnel, nor to enforce Federal law if it’s been violated.. Even so these lower authorities are abrogating their responsibility to maintain order, and protect citizen withing their respective jurisdictions, 500+ murders in one year, plus more then a month of non stop rioting are examples of this.

Trump is operating precisely within the scope and obligations of the Constitution. The Constitution requires he protects Federal personnel and Federal Government owned property. That is all he is doing. He is just following his oath of office.
