Former NYC police commissioner: Protesters want anarchy, not safety

Former New York City Police Commissioner Howard Safir told “Your World” Friday that those who remain at the Occupy City Hall protest despite the New York City Council’s approval of $1 billion dollars in cuts from the New York Police Department “don’t want safety. NYC Occupy City Hall protesters say they’re not leaving until demands are met on NYPD, homelessness, voting.
“They may not be … a billion dollars, but they’re going to reduce the amount of police officers on the street. Cops are retiring at record numbers. Response time is going to go down,” Safir added.
“You did away with the anti-crime unit, which was 600 plainclothes officers who prevented crime. Uniformed officers respond to crime. Plainclothes officers prevent crimes from happening. So it’s going to be a much more dangerous city.”
Safir criticized New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio for caving into protester demands and for the city’s decline under his administration.

And it’s all going in the wrong direction because he is the No. 1 cause of what’s going on in New York,” Safir said. “What’s happening is, he doesn’t support the police. He supports the protesters. You know what he’s talking about? Having social workers and health professionals respond to 911 calls without police officers. That’s ridiculous.”
The former police commissioner also warned that unless things turned around he may not recommend that people become a police officer under the current circumstances.
“I would never, ever think that I would recommend that somebody not be a police officer unless things turn around. Police officers put themselves not only at risk every day, as they’ve done for hundreds of years, but now with what’s going on in this country, they’re putting their families and their economics survival at risk,” Safir said.
“District attorneys in some of these progressive cities and attorney generals are looking more to charge police officers than to charge violent protesters and rioters. It’s a ridiculous thing.”
“And, you know, with the Fourth of July coming, we should be celebrating the fact that these people have the freedom to protest, but they don’t have the freedom to loot and vandalize,” Safir added. “And as in Seattle, murder people.”

Demographics-wise, we are definitely going the way of Europe, given census figures that in the 16-and-under age group, non-whites are now the majority. Blame not only illegal immigration (and their high birth rates) but also abortion of “native-born” populations including and especially whites coupled with the denigration of motherhood and children. All this does not bode well for America’s future survival.
Oh and I agree, Trump SHOULD be re-elected.

Governor Cuomo changed the name of the new Tappan Zee bridge (which is near me)to his fathers name calling it the Mario Cuomo bridge. The name “Tappan” is from the local Indian tribe and “Zee” comes from the dutch word for sea. In between Wilson a former governor was added to name but universally recognized as Tappan Zee grudge till governor changed name and signage all on his own without a vote.

Who can blame ot police officers for retiring in record numbers. De Blasio, after all, is public enemy number one and goes unscathed when it comes to his supporters, criminals, rapists, murderers, a myriad of anti-American Marxists and Jihadi thugs. The Democrats whether federal, state, or municipal differ not from the above mentioned; they and their nefarious and treasonous counterparts are one of the same.
Trump, needles to say, is right, the crushing of the enemy within is a must. Meaning, those of the faux-Democratic Party, de Blasio is but one of the copious traitors of the said Party. The American electorate holds the fate of the Republic in its hands. If the faux-Democrats and its collaborators win the 2020 election the consequences are without doubt; this Constitutional Republic shall collapse.
There is one certainty, the Democrats will do their utmost to manipulate the outcome through nefarious means. This perfidious, subversive Party has done so for decades but more so since Trump won the 2016 vote. Lawlessness, whether it is de Blasio, Pelosi, or the Democrat’s shadow presidential candidate, Biden, is a base tenet of the Party.

That’s nice, but in NYC, good luck with that. I have family who needed to fly out of New England for a wilderness trip where guns were needed to be brought. They paid a LOT more to avoid connecting through one of the NYC airports because even a gun in checked bags has been known tp get confiscated from travelers, and you’ll never get it back. A handgun or expensive hunting rifle, gone for keeps.
Plenty of guns in NYC, but they are mainly illegal guns, and criminals have them. It’s hard for law abiding people to be armed there. To legally have a gun, you need a license or permit. The handgun application is 17 pages and costs over $300, plus almost $100 more for the required fingerprints. If you want a rifle, the application is only 13 pages and fees plus fingerprints will take the cost past $200. The permits are very specific, allowing you to have it only in your home, or at specific work locations. Carry permits are “may issue” and for most people, you won’t be able to successfully jump through enough hoops to get one.

A word of caution to the retirees of NYPD. Don’t come to Dallas, Texas. You will have to continue your careers under the third dumbest person ( I will not use the word man, in his case) Judge (?) Clay Jenkins.
