Mayor Lightfoot is out of her mind. Not only has she allowed criminals to take over her city, but she has also threatened to arrest citizens who violate her tyrannical social distancing rules. How are the retailers that Lightfoot want’s to keep in Chicago suppose to generate any revenue to cover their overhead costs? Americans need to stop voting for this insane party. Chicago Mayor Begging Major Retailers Not To Abandon Riot-Ravaged City

But in recent weeks, roaming groups of rioters have used the May 25 death of George Floyd while in police custody in Minneapolis as a pretext to loot and destroy businesses both big and small in the Windy City.
The response from the city’s Democratic leaders has been less than aggressive — and now they’re facing the potential repercussions of that approach.
National retail chain locations have been attacked, looted or burned and are now closed in many parts of the city, as was outlined June 1 by the Chicago Sun-Times.
Walmart, according to reports, might not come back, at least not fully.
WBBM-AM in Chicago reported the Arkansas-based retail giant is assessing which of its locations in the city are worth salvaging after criminals ransacked the stores during unchecked looting.
There isn’t a timetable for when that corporate evaluation will be completed, but Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, whose job it is to protect her city, is now pleading with Walmart and other retailers not to leave the market.
“My hope is that they will come back,” Lightfoot said of Walmart’s evaluation of how to proceed in Chicago.
The mayor made the comments after she spoke with a number of retailers that have locations closed due to damage.
Per Lightfoot, most companies will stand by the city, but Walmart has not committed to anything.

I do not blame individual policemen & women, it’s the way they are led & have been by ultra pc careerists in recent decades. Thanks John! Of course, the cops just do what they are required to do by politico bosses. If the bosses tell them to arrest conservative Brits, then they will. They don’t like it, but they do it. The one big advantage we have with the police, is that they are quite good at consequential thinking, because of what they see in their jobs every day. They see that criminals have rotten lives. There are consequences to being a rotten person. They see that honest people have much better lives. They see that welfare sucking immigrants degrade themselves and society. They see that one good person can turn around a whole family. And so on, so they are inherently conservative in their thinking. And that’s one key reason why commies hate the cops.

The typical career path is lawyer, city council member (elected), then Mayor.
Instead of first gaining managerial experience in the private sector, Leftists view the public sector as a more desirable career path to the private sector with guaranteed income, a generous pension, and zero competition. They live off the public teat. It has little to do with public service. Even though every penny of public funds comes from private sector productivity and risk, they view the private sector with contempt. Is it any surprise that they don’t give a rat’s a** about the businesses destroyed by looters. They’ll just borrow more money to cover the tax income deficit. Perpetually sucking in and squandering tax payer money is SOP for these political parasites.
People in these cities are dying as a result of gross incompetence, negligence and malfeasance. There’s literally zero prior qualifications to run for any elected position in these cities. It attract ambitious political ideologues that can trade favors, self-promote and raise campaign cash. Thee people are barely qualified to work in PR, let alone run a major city.

I can imagine all of the insurance companies are cancelling, refusing to renew,or increasing premiums on any and all structures, inventories, any and all risks in Cook County making it impossible to open or finance these looted businesses. Wouldn’t it be nice if these Moron Mayors, and others, would take a basic (correct) history class of America. Maybe start about 1960. Maybe these idiots would see how these riots have devastated some of our cities. Detroit, probably the worst. Before these recent riots, taxpayers have been moving out of these blue cities and states. All I have is a simple BA, but I have friends who never attended college…and they sure have it figured out! Many of these leaders have multiple degrees, but you’d have to look far and wide to find dumber and more ignorant people.

Sorry to all of you who remember or were raised there, but until they gain control of what goes on and arrest people committing crimes, real crimes, you know murder, robbery, arson, rape, assault and battery, ETC and not for breaking her edict on social distancing, they are screwed. I sometimes think about the movie, “Escape from NY”, and how we should put walls up around some of these cities to keep them in so the rest of the country doesn’t have to deal with them. Drop in enough food every week for 50% of the people and let the rest take care of itself.

Camden and Trenton NJ never recovered from their riots. No one rational lives there or goes near there unless you have to use the airport.. On the ourskirt of Newark they built Liberty international airport so you are very careful to make sure of the exit you get off and on to. If you drive into Newark, you may literally lose your life.

It seems every city that elects a black mayor sooner or later turns into a disaster area. We’ve seen it in Washington D.C, Detroit, Baltimore, New York, and now Chicago. I’m sure there are others. Will people never learn?

There may not be enough people with common sense in Chicago to vote out the leftist machine. Senseable people may have no choice but to flee! For the majority the crime city is a self inflicted wound! They deserve the government, the crime, and the riots they got!

She can hold on tight to that thought right up to the point where the insurers who indemnify those businesses make it clear that their business insurance cost is going to go up tenfold. Except for the parts of the city where coverage simply won’t available at any price.
