The numbers don’t lie. The state of Florida has outperformed the state of New York in every possible metric in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. The major difference between the two states are their governors. The people of Florida are lucky to have Governor Ron DeSantis in charge of their state. As for the people of the state of New York, who continue to elect incompetent Leftists as mayors and governors: elections have consequences.

Politico Reporter Calls Out Media’s Biased Coverage Of NY, FL Governors’ COVID Response, Gets Lectured By CNN Analyst

On Thursday, Politico’s Marc Caputo drew attention to the glaring disparity between the media’s coverage of Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis — the former presented in generally glowing terms despite his state’s massive failure in responding to the coronavirus pandemic, while the latter, whose state has been one of the national success stories amid the crisis, has been regularly criticized in reports. For calling out the media, Caputo has come under fire from a fellow journalist from The Daily Beast and CNN.
In an update “from the non-frontlines,” Caputo — a former Miami Herald reporter who now produces Politico’s Florida Playbook — writes:
Good evening, and greetings from Florida, where we feel the need to inform you that it’s not a post-apocalyptic hellscape of coronavirus infection and cadavers stacked like cordwood. That is, Florida just doesn’t look nearly as bad as the national news media and sky-is-falling critics have been predicting for about two months now. But then, the national news media is mostly based in New York and loves to love its Democratic governor, Andrew Cuomo, about as much as it loves to hate on Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Having established the largely New York-based media’s habit of “loving” on Cuomo and “hating” on DeSantis, Caputo takes his critique further: the truth is, he writes, based on actual results, DeSantis’s measured response to the crisis appears to have been the right response, while New York has been by far the worst hit
First, let’s just come out and say it: DeSantis looks more right than those who criticized the Sunshine State’s coronavirus response. According to the latest Florida figures, fewer than 2,000 have died, and around 43,000 have been infected. That’s a fraction of the dire predictions made for Florida when spring breakers swarmed the beaches, and those numbers are dwarfed by similarly sized New York, which has seen 12 times more deaths and nearly eight times more infections. He certainly has the underlying credentials and experience. He is smart with a B.A. in history from Yale, a J.D. from Harvard, with admissions to both those institutions earned on his merits, and not by displacing someone smarter by affirmative action. He went to JAG school while still a law student at Harvard, and went to Gitmo to work for the commander of the Joint Task Force. He then served in the US Navy JAG Corps, achieving the rank of Lieutenant, was deployed to Iraq as part of SEAL Team One, and advised the SEAL commander on legal issues while in Falllujah. After returning to the US he worked in the US Attorney’s Office as a federal prosecutor. To this date, he has a commission in the Naval Reserve.
His politics align closely with mine. He would carry Florida in an election. I think we’ve found a republican candidate for 2024.

I will offer no opinion about these two men, as I do not live in either state, but if the Politico reporter is accurate, it expresses a continuous truth that this nation has allowed its seemingly unyielding different political thinking to become a plaque worse than the virus. We are all familiar with what has happened within the FBI, when it allowed its political opinions to run amok, creating the Russia hoax crisis that attempted to wrongfully accuse Trump and his people of working with the Russians to affect the election, followed by the Ukrainian phone call wrongfully accusing POTUS of unconstitutional conduct and wrongfully pursuing impeachment, and the Obama administrations now known wrongful conduct against Flynn as well as Trump, all of which has created unfathomable consequences because both sides cannot deal with the other in any tolerant or compromising manner. Unless and until we reverse this plaque like trend, I will remain very worried for my country. The problem with Politicians is that they are primarily motivated by a need to keep their jobs, which I believe exacerbates their greed and improper concerns for the citizens of this country, all of which is superimposed by a media that needs to generate advertising revenue which they believe they can accomplish by the use of their dislike of Trump (which I refer to as the “Trump syndrome”), that has made the reporting of the real news secondary to their hateful and wrongful opinions. Along with the media first accepting the notion that the news is factual and should first be reported without influencing those facts with personal bias and/or opinion of the reporter, and then creating specifically identified opinion programs that are identified as opinion reports (something that I believe Fox has done well), I see the ultimate remedy being term limits (ending the full time job adverse consequences that result from too much time in political positions), limitations on when and how to lobby by ex-politicians and high end government employees, a balanced budget, all of which I believe would bring us back to civil order, and the type of country our founding fathers created.

The main difference between Cuomo and DeSantis is that while Cuomo is engaged in his self-admiration daily diatribes, DeSantis is quietly taking care of business.
It wasn’t Florida who breathlessly begged for a hospital ship to ease the overcrowding of land based hospitals and then left it mostly unused.

It didn’t hurt Fl., that’s the point. Gov. DeSantis is the one who deserves praise not Don Cuomo. All Cuomo has done is complain. 40thousand ventilators needed, more beds, most of which were never used. Don Cuomo is a bigmouth, progressive, democrat stooge who has padded the number of deaths in his state, killed seniors by sending infected patients to nursing homes, and trying to lower the number of deaths in those homes to make him look better after he was caught. And now he wants billions to bail out his state which he put in debt with his reckless spending. NO.

Let’s pull aside this curtain of deceit where we call Cuomo, Pelosi, Newsom, Witmer, Pritzker Democrats making poor decisions as if they were just adolescents out for a joy ride or smoking a reefer. That’s what even the conservative media wants you to believe. The actual fact is that they are executing the carefully orchestrated and choreographed plan by the CCP to destroy the US and the economy of the world. One of the key elements has been to sow panic, increase the number of deaths by infecting nursing, convalescent, and hospices with the CCP Virus. That’s the plan, folks, and Cuomo and his ilk are plainly doing what their masters have ordered. The Commicrat Party is truly the party of treason and the enemy of the people.

The media continues to provide cover and distraction activities for all of the incompetent liberals governors and mayors because to tell the truth would ruin their agenda. America is slowly realizing how bad the media and their liberal masters are, and a price will be paid. The media is already experiencing a radical drop in credibility and viewership and the liberals are heading for an election that will let them know that truth and integrity matters except in the dull witted districts that they own.
