Clearly the news storm of the 911 attacks obliterated any shot of an investigation at that time.
The story of the death of Klausutis was swept under the rug and was barely covered by the media perhaps because two months later on September 11th the largest terrorist attack on American soil occurred or maybe the media didn’t see significance in covering the mysterious death of a young woman?
Fort Walton Beach Police Chief Steve Hogue said that preliminary findings from the medical examiner’s office of Dr. Michael Berkland showed “no foul play or any outward indication of suicide.”

The official autopsy report stated her death was an “accident” attributed to – “undiagnosed cardiac arrhythmia” and due to this fact her “breathing stopped she fell and hit her head, on an office desk and died,” Berkland said.
Scarborough’s press secretary, Miguel Serrano also stated that Klausutis had known prior “health conditions” but didn’t provide specifics when questioned. And Scarborough himself told reporters that she had a “complicated medical history” including “stroke and epilepsy.”
Which an immediate family member disputed and denied stating she had no prior “health conditions” since she was a documented marathon runner who had recently run an 8K with a respectable time and she belonged to the Northwest Florida Track Club.
On August 29th, 2001, two Fort Walton Beach police officers Stephen Sequeira and crime scene expert Dusty Rhodes who witnessed the autopsy of Klausutis, said that her “skull had been fractured,” reported NWFDailyNews.
But this was never taken into account in the final autopsy report, and Dr. Berkland stated knowledge of the injury was insignificant and was simply just from the cause of her fall. (more)
Trump wants Comcast to probe Joe Scarborough over Florida ‘cold case’
President Trump on Monday took a shot at MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough – calling for “Concast” to probe him for a cold case involving the accidental death of an intern in his congressional office in 2001.

“‘Concast’ should open up a long overdue Florida Cold Case against Psycho Joe Scarborough,” the president said, referring to NBC News’ parent company Comcast, in a tweet shortly after the “Morning Joe” host reported bad polling news for Trump.
“I know him and Crazy Mika well, used them beautifully in the last Election, dumped them nicely, and will state on the record that he is ‘nuts’. Besides, bad ratings! #OPENJOECOLDCASE,” Trump added.
The president appeared to be referring to the case of Lori Klausutis, a 28-year-old intern who was found dead in Scarborough’s Fort Walton Beach office in Florida when he was a congressman.
The medical examiner ruled the death accidental, saying Klausutis had passed out because of an undiagnosed heart condition and hit her head on a desk.
No evidence has ever been found linking Scarborough to her death.

The cause of death gets curiouser and curiouser, but the plot thickens. If Klausutis were the intern of some Republican the proverbial, you know what would hit the fan.
Indeed, it was during 9/11, but the Democrats and all Leftists possess long-lasting, an elephant-like memory when it comes to the possibility of a crime, possible murder perpetrated by the Right-wing. If not, they fabricate crimes of corruption to indict their intended but fictitious evildoer.

I remember watching ‘Scarborogh Country’ when it was a good show. Never imagined he would turn into what he has. This death was obviously swept under a rug. People die under very mysterious circumstances in Washington.

The Police may want to exhume the body for a forensic examination of the skull. It seems very strange he would retire at this age “to spend time with my boys”. The reasoning doesn’t pass the smell test.
