Indonesia’s Aceh holds public floggings despite coronavirus fears

BANDA ACEH, INDONESIA (AFP) – Six people were publicly flogged in Indonesia’s conservative Aceh province on Tuesday (April 21) for breaking local Islamic law, despite widespread bans on mass gatherings over coronavirus fears.
Story continues below advertisementOfficials insisted they followed social distancing rules but vowed that the global pandemic wouldn’t stand in the way of doling out justice.
“To comply with current conditions, we’re trying to cut unnecessary procedures like the usual opening speech,” said Mr Safriadi, the official responsible for syariah punishments in the provincial capital Banda Aceh.
“We just carried out the flogging directly to make it simpler. Whipping will still go on, but we’re limiting the number of people involved,” added Mr Safriadi, who goes by one name.
Most of the offenders whipped on Tuesday were not wearing protective face masks, and images from the scene suggested some participants came into close contact with each other.
Aceh’s public whippings – widely criticised by rights groups – can attract hundreds of spectators. But only about a dozen onlookers turned up at a building inside a public park to see four men flogged 40 times each for drinking alcohol. An unmarried couple caught together in a hotel room were also given over two dozen lashes from a rattan cane.
Aceh, on the western tip of Sumatra is the only region in Muslim-majority Indonesia to impose Islamic law. The province allows whipping for a range of charges including gambling, adultery, drinking alcohol, and having gay or pre-marital sex.
Despite the painful punishment, one man whipped for drinking alcohol – who also served a three-month jail term for the offence – said he was relieved to be free to join his family for the fasting month of Ramadan, which starts this week.
“I got bored in prison and now I’m finally a free man,” he said. “Ramadan is coming and I couldn’t imagine fasting in prison.”

Islam is a mortal enemy of free people that is barbaric enough to distract us from the hidden mortal enemy of free people that has ruled us for a century from behind a curtain of traitors. Islam hasn’t changed since Mohammed, and it is described in detail in 3 books. The academic elites of western civilization didn’t misinterpret Islam, or fail to read 3 books, or fail to notice that the bloody 1400 year history of Islam matches the doctrine. They whitewashed Islam, and they repainted it as harmless over time so it could be used as a relentless, autonomous proxy army against us, and they did this for the diabolical central banks. The Democrat Party embraces Islam because the Democrat Party is as much the enemy of free people as Islam.

The f’ing muslum cesspool called Indonesia enforces islamic blasphemy laws throughout the entirety of their toilet bowl state including arresting and charging a sitting kafir Christian governor and a Buddhist woman for complaining about a too loud adhan (because of course how can the adhan ever be too loud?).

Its only a “moderate” muslim country until you are the victim of islam.
Whipping women still goes on. Be a woman seen giving a stranger directions and having a laugh is enough to have you beaten, whipped, or jailed. Yep, “moderate”.

Islam is only ‘moderate’ until the Muslims become the majority. Then it’s a race to the bottom with ever more extremist groups trying to implement the ‘authentic’ Islam we’re all supposed to live under.
So the more Islamic a country becomes, the more intolerant, violent, wretched and inhumane it is. In the meantime millions of these brainless idiots will be trying to prove to each other, which of them is more Muhammad-like, that is a pure psychopath, mass-murderer, rapist and lunatic.
Islam is precisely the sort of dangerous ideology that WMDs were invented to deal with. War eventually just becomes a numbers game, that was something we truly understood from the 1930s to the 1970s, when millions were wiped out, but it seems we lost that lesson.
The so-called ‘peace dividend’ was just a sham to ignore even bigger threats in the world than Nazism. Now it’s finally coming to bite us in the back.
Until we realize it is Muslims vs non-Muslims, we will keep losing and the world will revert back to a time when humanity was more barbaric, savage and primitive. To prevent that ugly future from ever happening, Islam must be eradicated.
