Protest starts after Idaho woman arrested at playground closed due to coronavirus
An Idaho woman was arrested Tuesday after police say she was violating city orders by trespassing on a city playground that was closed to stop the spread of the coronavirus. CBS affiliate KBOI-TV reports that 40-year-old Sara Brady, of Meridian, was arrested and charged with one count of misdemeanor trespassing.
Following Brady’s arrest, which was captured on social media, there were protests held at Meridian City Hall, KBOI reported. Station KTVB reported that roughly 100 people protested.
Meridian police said they told a group of people gathered on the playground that they could move to the other areas of the park. KBOI reported. The playground was wrapped with caution tape and signs indicated it was closed due to COVID-19.
Police said they made several attempts to get Brady to follow the rules and she refused to comply.
“These are very trying times and the Meridian Police Department supports the public’s right to assemble for peaceful protest, however the right does not include damaging public property or ignoring closures of City property and facilities,” MPD said.
KBOI reports there were counter-protesters present at the protest at Meridian City Hall, including Jamsey McRoberts.
“I came here today to stand against the fact that people were gathering,” McRoberts said. “I want cities to open up. The governor, the mayor, the president, and everybody else should know that by social distancing we can still have normal lives.”
Protesters continue to gather nationwide, demanding an end to “stay-at-home” orders. Some governors are taking steps to ease the restrictions, even as coronavirus cases and deaths rise.
Idaho has recorded more than 1,750 coronavirus cases and at least 48 deaths, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

Typical case of blind rule-following over common sense. So long as they’re keeping a social distance there is absolutely no reason to arrest her.
Why don’t these cops go after actual rule breakers and super-spreaders like Muslims going to mosques and defying the lockdown?
This is exactly how totalitarian regimes behave. The fears over covid are ridiculously overblown.

She is not a “criminal” so she has to be arrested.
Plus with releasing real crimnals there is room for her. It will also cost HER money, time and inconvenience. Criminals don’t have any of those problems.

Ya they’re trying to make an example out of her, it’s only going to lead to a backlash. I’m fine with the idea of a general lock-down but they should allow people to walk around, exercise, visit parks.
It’s simply about being rational. The virus threat is real, but not that many people are infected. So long as we’re taking proper precautions, they don’t need to make us live in a police state.

So long as people use basic common sense, wear masks, use social distancing, I don’t see a problem with churches holding mass.
However Muslims are deliberately trying to infect us with covid and they are flouting the rules. So the cops should go after them.
A few mothers going to a park with their kids is no threat to anyone and that’s where the authorities are foolishly over-reacting.

The purpose behind the virus was to scare us into voting by mail. The Democrats MUST take the power of the WH or they, and the foreign power they are loyal to, will pay for the 40,000+ US citizens who have died, and they will pay for the conspiracy to murder the USA from within. Their global hitman and our assassin lost in 2016, and she wasn’t supposed to lose, so turning back the clock is the only thing that matters to them. That should be obvious by now. The (D)omestic enemy must maintain their smear and fear campaign by every means possible.

Meantime it is proved that the WUHAN-COVID-19 was spread as a biological warfare against US and other countries, which killed ten thousands of people !

HOWEVER: It is also proved that this virus is not more dangerous than other influenza viruses, most likely less dangerous!
The measures against COVID-19 must not be different from the ones used in case of Influenza endemic!

I’m not sure where your comment was coming from. I was making a reference to the fact that CPS has been known to take kids away from parents for the most ridiculous reasons. And in some of those CPS offices kids have been trafficked.
The idea of arresting a mom for playing with her kids in a public park that is not even busy is totally insane. People need exercise and fresh air to help their immune systems.

I have many relatives in and around Meridian. I will have to call them and see what they think of this. Idaho used to be one of the most conservative states. They say that the bigger cities are slowly getting worse by a lot of Californians fleeing the hell they created and be damned if they aren’t hell bent on creating another one there.
