Afghanistan: Muslims shoot and kill six workers at US-run Bagram Airfield

“Earlier this week, the U.S.’s top commander in Afghanistan, Gen. Scott Miller, and U.S. Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad visited Pakistan to discuss peace efforts with the country’s officials.”

KABUL, Afghanistan — Six Afghans who worked at Bagram Airfield were shot dead Thursday just outside the base, an Afghan official said.
The workers were driving home in a motorized rickshaw and were about 500 yards from the base when an unidentified gunman began shooting at about 10 p.m., said Wahida Shahkar, a spokeswoman for the governor of Parwan province, where Bagram is located.
“These people were ordinary workers at Bagram, like cleaners and others,” Shahkar said, adding that three others were injured in the attack….
The Taliban denied responsibility for the shooting in a statement Friday, though they have long considered Afghan workers on foreign bases and embassies legitimate targets. No other group immediately claimed responsibility….
The attacks have come as the U.S. works toward a full withdrawal of foreign forces by mid-2021, if the Taliban abides by conditions outlined in a Feb. 29 agreement. The Taliban must help keep terrorists from operating in Afghanistan and hold talks with the Kabul government, among other terms of the agreement made public.
However, Taliban attacks on Afghan forces, disagreements over prisoner exchanges and political infighting have hampered the peace process.
Earlier this week, the U.S.’s top commander in Afghanistan, Gen. Scott Miller, and U.S. Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad visited Pakistan to discuss peace efforts with the country’s officials.

What exactly is the US accomplishing by keeping US servicemen in Afghanistain? The country already isn’t a democracy, it’s an islamic repugnant. What’s there to defend?

History tells us that any non moslem presence in Afghanistan is pointless.
The British in the 1800s were treacherously attacked and massacred and had to send in a punitive army to beat the shite out of them but still found them to be so submerged into their mind numbing “religion” that they were beyond hope and clung to their 7th century mindset. The Russians too found out at great cost that that shitehole is not worth occupying. We should pull out completely and let that stinking abscess of a country just rot away.

The reason for the British being in Afghanistan in the 1800s was to block the Russian route to India and our empire of the east which the Russians eyed enviously and was all part of what was known as The Great Game. And you are dead right in saying that there’s nothing worth fighting for there as I’v travelled across that country and it’s nothing more than a rock strewn shitehole fit for nothing but growing opium poppies.

Heroin is the main cash crop of Afghanistan and shipped to the streets of the USA and UK making our young people weak and dependent.
When the British Army took over the Hellmand district where much of the drug originates, they raided and destroyed the Poppy growing industry and it opened the door to all manner of hell.

Actually, the Americans under Reagan, armed the muhajdeen with shoulder fired surface to air missiles, I think Redeyes or Stingers and the Russians lost so many helicopters, the war wasn’t sustainable, so they left.
That was the start of the terrorist movement since I think that’s where Osama bin Laden got his start.
If the Americans hadn’t supplied missiles, possibly the Russians would still be there and the Soviet Union might still be around, no one knows for sure, but there were unforeseen consequences.
No question, the Taliban would be better off if they hadn’t let Bin Laden set up Al Quaeda trading camps and bases in Afghanistan. No one thought the Americans or anyone else would be crazy enough to end up in a place like Afghanistan, and it’s a place no one wants to be. The Afghans can have it, just mind their own business, but that seems to be something nobody wants to do.

The Americans and their allies had to invade Afghanistan they had little choice. Bin laden was using the place to plot terrorist attacks on US bases and embassies around the world.
That fly had to be swatted.
Even without Regan arming the mujahadeen with stingers the Russians would have found Afghanistan unsustainable and would have been driven out anyway.
Alongside Somalia it has to be the true arsehole of the world. Maybe Somalia comes 1st though????

We got involved when Russia gave up trying to control the worlds poppy production, and we are doing no better. But I misspeak — we are there for the profits those poppies make, to control the wealth they bring, not to control any radical muzzies. Those mussies are just trying to gain back their old control over the profits, let them take it – all we have to do is stop them from gaining entrance to this nation (which the Kenyans admin tried to overcome by giving arms to those gangs that import said poppy products ‘fast & furious’)

There are two main methods the Muslims are using to take over the world; 1.) eliminate the non-Muslims, either by getting them to convert to Islam or by killing them, and 2.) vastly increasing the numbers of Muslims through procreation (the Muslims’ fertility rate is EIGHT times that of non-Muslims).
As for the conversion or death method, non-Muslims often don’t get to chose.
Notice how in every Islamic terror attack, it’s always one or a very small number of Muslims who kill a larger, and more often a vastly larger, number of non-Muslims; this news article is a example.

Trump promised that he would do that but didn’t.; first he sad he would bring home some small number of troops at some unspecified date sometime tin the future; then he sent FORTY THOUSAND more troops over there!
All those responsible for our involvement in Afghanistan, and other foreign countries where we have no business being, should be hanged.

I expect when the US leaves, the Chinese will move in, either through proxy or possibly just move in and take over.
The Chinese know how to manage resistant or rebellious minorities, primarily by moving them to detention camps. Thatmay primarily have involved heads of households, since wives of detained persons may remain in the house and there have been political operatives who have actually moved into the house to ensure behavior and thinking is synonymous with that of the Communist Party ruling authorities. At times, reports are the political operatives may remain in the household overnight and may also share the bed with household members.
I have not heard how long the detained persons have remained in the camps and likely there isn’t any specific answer, perhaps until there’s a change in administration or regime, which would mean indefinite. With reference to Tibet, the indigenous Tibetans are being displaced by Han Chinese who are being moved into Tibet in large numbers, essentially relocation, so eventually, Tibetans likely to be a minority in Tibet if not already.
I wouldn’t expect individual farmers to have land retained if Chinese move into Afghanistan, since land would be collectivized into communes.
Another alternative could be the Russians moving back into Afghanistan, since the country is very mineral rich.
Russia, under Putin, did suppress Chechynea in the second Chenchyian war, Putin rules of engagement being essentially to completely destroy the territory or country if there were signs of resistance. That was how Putin achieved hero status in Russian Federation, especially after terrorist attacks against Russian school children.
Chenchyna was essentially completely destroyed And Russia has resumed control of the country.
The alternative might be that Afghanistan is divided up among the countries surrounding it such as Pakistan, Iran, China on a minor border and Tajikistan,Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan being other countries. Afghanistan’s advantage was that no one really wanted it for anything, but then it became a terrorist training camp which the Americans and NATO nations tried to clear out. If the Taliban don ‘t let terrorists set up training camps and terrorist bases to operate out of, the Americans will likely leave them alone. We have no interest in Afghanistan. Other countries may take a scorched earth approach and just turn it into a dust bowl after the Americans leave, and carry off anything that’s worth something.
