The good people of Michigan took to the streets en masse on Wednesday to protest their Democrat governor’s tyrannical rules and restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
They flooded the streets of the State Capitol in Lansing, Michigan, demanding that the state be opened back up before it slipped into even more economic despair.

The turnout was huge. The message was clear. And today, even after Governor Whitmer tried to double and triple down on her Hitler-like rules over the past few days, she has caved and said that she will work to reopen Michigan’s economy on May 1st.
That’s a huge win for the people of Michigan and the rest of America.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer said on Friday she is hopeful the state can begin to reengage parts of its economy beginning on May 1, days after facing a barrage of criticism for her strict measures to combat the new coronavirus.
Later on Friday, President Donald Trump, who has traded jabs with Whitmer over the state’s handling of the outbreak, tweeted: “Liberate Michigan,” along with similar tweets naming other states with Democratic governors.
Trump did not mention Ohio, whose Republican governor has set a similar target for economic reopening. The chair of the Republican National Committee, Ronna McDaniel, has criticized Whitmer, saying she was turning Michigan into a “police state”.
As of Thursday, Michigan had more than 29,000 COVID-19 cases and almost 2,100 deaths, though Whitmer said the number of new cases was showing signs of leveling off.
“I am hopeful that come May 1 we will make some steps forward, and as we proceed, if that goes well and we continue to see progress, that we then go into a second phase,” Whitmer said, referring to continued decrease in hospitalizations from the virus.
Whitmer told a webcast town hall with a Detroit business chamber that she recognized people were “desperate to get back to work,” and that no solution would be zero risk.
Michigan would have to be strategic and “methodically” reengage sectors of the economy, she said. [Reuters]

It would be interesting to see if her tyrannical lockdown orders had any effects at all in Dearbornistan, Michigan or if maybe the lockdown orders were used to persecute the unbelievers in islum.

Americans aren’t stupid. They can read a map. The Johns Hopkins Covid-19 red dot infection map shows infection rate by county.
Michigan typifies the gross disproportionality of the infection spread. 80% of the state’s positives are within a 50 mile radius of Detroit. The rest of the state has a very low infection rate yet the entire state is in lockdown.
Facts:
* Close to 60% of ALL infections in the US are within a 350 mile radius of NYC.
* Majority of remaining US infections are also concentrated in urban metro areas like Detroit, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Atlanta etc.
* In New Jersey, its seven “commuter” counties closest to NYC contain 75% of the states positive infections.
* Majority of deaths are people with:
– pre-existing medical conditions
– and/or over 65
– and/or living in nursing, dementia care, or assisted living facilities
– and/or addicted to drugs/alcohol (MSM and experts are ignoring this factor)
Summary:
* The county infection data confirms this is primarily an urban/metro area pandemic
* Very few healthy addiction-free people under 65 are dying from Covid-19 infection
Why is the entire country in lockdown?

The outbreak was on its way out due to the mitigation and the normal end to the influenza season and the natural run of the virus as they predicted. We were shown graphs of a typical outbreak, and that has happened where the mitigation didn’t begin quickly, like in NY. The last ILI graph they used showed the end of the natural flu season and with it the end of the COVID-19 spike that was the third spike in this influenza season.

The fact that Whitmer is relenting is a positive sign. It means she will have to put away her Gestapo garb and jackboots and stop goose stepping about her living room to the strains of “Deutsches Uber Alles”.

I wouldn’t let up on her for one minute. May 1 can roll around and she does some more delaying and tap dancing. May 1, actually TOMORROW, should be 100% wide open, back to normal. The lock downs never should have happened in the first place. They should NEVER happen again. I’m still amazed that there aren’t 500 lawsuits challenging all this unconstitutional overreach.

Why wait until May 1? When she says “end the lock down” it really means entering the next “Phase” which lasts a minimum of two weeks before going on to the next “Phase”. Why does it have to be done in phases? Just open the damn country.
The lock downs don’t work anyway. Better results are had when people go on living their normal lives. I wouldn’t let up one bit on any of these fascist, totalitarian governors until life is 100% back to normal. Then get rid of them.
Better yet, everyone goes back to work immediately and the local county sheriff protects the citizens from the fascist governors.

“Sadly” is right. i lived in the GR area (Wyoming) and Livonia and Saugatuck. Detroit skews everything. For the worse of course.
Maybe now he can go all out with his transition to “she”. In fact he’s probably od’ing on the female hormones to hasten the process. That made him a little more merciful…

This may be a sign of a very sinister and unpleasant fact: that Americans, having never been exposed to such a monstrous evil as COVID-19 before, can’t, and are not able willing to, deal with it rationally and objectively.
Public opinion should never be the basis for making decision regarding public health, especially when dealing with a deadly and contagious pandemic such as COVID-19.
What Richard Dawkins said about the religious applies equally to the American public in regards to their thinking about this terrible pandemic and when it would be safe to drop their guard and go back to normal living: “People of a theological bent are often chronically incapable of distinguishing WHAT IS TRUE FROM WHAT THEY’D LIKE TO BE TRUE.
Our people want to believe that it’s safe to congregate in large numbers in close proximity, so they protest to be allowed to………ignoring the question of whether it’s safe or not to do so.
Such represents a form of infantile behavior that is literally deadly.
