Tyler O’Neil: As Virginians celebrated the Christian holidays leading up to Easter and the Jewish Passover, Gov. Ralph Northam (D-Va.) signed a sweeping array of lefty legislation — 45 bills in total, with proposed amendments for even more. From abortion to voting, from climate to LGBT issues, from guns to collective bargaining, the minimum wage, and Confederate monuments, the governor seemingly attempted to smuggle Democrats’ radical new laws past Virginians as they celebrated the holidays and hunkered down to fight the virus.
Northam’s office issued no fewer than eight press releases announcing the governor had signed legislation that the Democrat-majority House of Delegates and Senate had signed over the past year.

Virginia Governor Orders Residents to Stay Home Until June 10

Story continues below advertisementVirginia Governor Ralph Northam on Monday issued an order to residents stay at home until June 10, part of expanded efforts to curtail the coronavirus pandemic that continues to spread across the country.
“I want to be clear: Do not go out unless you need to go out. This is very different than wanting to go out,” the Democratic governor said in announcing the order.
Northam noted that “some of our beaches and other recreational areas were literally packed” over the weekend, and warned that, “everyone who is gathering in a crowd is putting themselves and others at risk.”
The Virginia order goes into effect immediately and will remain in effect until June 10 unless the governor cancels it sooner.
Violators can be punished by up to a year in jail and a $2,500 fine.
Hours earlier, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced a similar “unprecedented” order, requiring residents to stay home except for essential trips such as grocery shopping or obtaining medical care. The order goes into effect at 8 p.m. on Monday and will remain active until the state of emergency is over. Violators can be charged with a misdemeanor offense with penalties up to a year in jail or a $5,000 fine.
“We are no longer asking or suggesting that Marylanders stay home. We are directing them to do so,” said Hogan, a Republican. “Every single Marylander can be a hero just by staying home.”
Residents may also leave their homes for other specific purposes including working essential jobs, exercising while practicing social distancing, caring for relatives and others in need, tending to livestock or pets, visiting their businesses for minimal tasks, or visiting government buildings for necessary reasons.
Hogan admitted the order will be “devastating” to the state budget, saying the order could “perhaps drain the entire rainy-day fund.”
“We’re talking about nationally, 25 percent unemployment. Revenues should be down dramatically,” he said.
At least 1,413 people in Maryland have been infected by the coronavirus.

Yes …. consider that when the Governor told them the could have their “rally” only if they did so WITHOUT THEIR GUNS ……… THEY DID JUST THAT.
Perhaps things would have been different now had they removed their “governor” as did our Founders

Unfortunately John Acord, many of today’s Law enforcement officers are glad to enforce these orders. What we, the citizens of America, need to do, is make sure that we make up the juries in these cases. It is one of the last peaceful option we have to stop these unprecedented and unconstitutional orders. It’s why juries are no longer allowed to hear about jury nullification. I wonder if the reason they make violating the order a misdemeanor instead of a felony is because in most states, misdemeanors don’t have the right to a jury. The judge acts as the jury in such cases. Any thoughts?

But I agree with you, Mass Disobedience is sometime necessary, I would even go a step further, and agree with, I believe Thomas Jefferson who said “The Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of Patriots and Tyrants. I find the lake of outrage troubling, but I must remind myself, that it was less than 5% of the population that overthrew the King, and only 25% that supported Our Revolution.

Maryland has a population of 6 MILLION and 10,000 of them are “infected”???
Let’s see ….. 10000 / 6000000 = 0.00167 … so 0.167% of the Maryland population is “infected”?
The percent population dead? 349 / 6000000 = 0.000058 … or …. 0.0058% of the population!!!!

It is an intentional wrecking of the economy. Nothing else lines up. And BTW they are already blaming Trump for the economic downturn.
What I have noticed in the past are trolls who comment on Fox’s website starts the trend no matter how outrageous. Then about a week later it starts to trickle through the fake media talking heads. Then as you know it becomes a dem talking point on the floor of the Congress and Senate.
It has already begun at Fox so look for it beginning to gather steam next week.
Rush will call it weaponizing the economy against Trump. And he will be spot on.

I’m in such a state of disbelief, I can’t even find the correct words to describe how insane these people and their ideas are. I wonder if this is how the people of Russia felt when they realized what Lenin and his comrades were really about? We need to send a message to Law Enforcement personnel that tells them that We the People are not going to allow them to enforce these orders. Somehow we need to convey to them, that they are our first line of defense against these Constitutional violations, and that it is their obligation and duty to refuse to enforce any laws or orders that violates the Constitutional Rights of We the People. The Totalitarians that have taken over our country need someone to enforce their rules and agenda on The People. If our Law enforce stops being the enforcement arm of the State, We can quickly restore our Republic and Constitution in a peaceful and productive way. Start calling your local sheriff’s and remind them that they took an Oath to defend us against this kind of tyranny. The alternative is something I don’t even want to think about..
