Inmate Freed from Prison Due to Coronavirus Arrested for Murder

So, so wrong. This, too, will be counted as a “coronavirus death.”

Inmate Freed from Prison Due to Coronavirus Arrested for Murder

By: John Binder, Breitbart News, April 14, 2020:

An inmate freed from a Florida prison on March 19 due to the Chinese coronavirus crisis allegedly committed murder the following day.

Joseph Edwards Williams, 26-years-old, was arrested Monday for an incident that occurred the day after he was released from the Hillsborough County Jail in Tampa, Florida. He is facing second-degree murder charges, WFLA reported.

Williams was released from the county jail along with about 163 other inmates whom officials deemed “non-violent” in an effort to prevent coronavirus outbreaks in the prison.

According to law enforcement, Williams was involved with a March 20 shooting homicide. The shooting occurred just a day after Williams was released from prison. In a statement to the media, Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister said Williams “took advantage” of the jailbreak policy.

“There is no question Joseph Williams took advantage of this health emergency to commit crimes while he was out of jail awaiting resolution of a low-level, non-violent offense,” Chronister said. “As a result, I call on the State Attorney to prosecute this defendant to the fullest extent of the law.”

Williams was previously arrested and serving time for possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Now, Williams is being held on a more than $250,000 bond.

The alleged murder comes as thousands of inmates across the country have been released from state and federal prisons in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus. This month, Attorney General William Barr issued a memo allowing three federal prisons to release inmates considered “vulnerable” to home confinement.

Duh! What did you expect? In my time as a correctional officer, the recidivism rate was 70%, 80% for drug offenders.

Random radical thought: what if the drug offenders were given their drugs while in prison (when safely in their cells, not abroad) so they might get equally bored with being high? Idk.

Seems like releasing inmates is likely to increase the spread of the Coronavirus.

That’s what I was thinking. They had them incarcerated which is about as socially distant as you can get, other than at a Supermax. How does releasing them help matters?

It creates more lawlessness and crime. What is he going to live on with no job? Where is he going to live without money? The questions go on and on and the answers aren’t good. There is nothing good about releasing these people.

This won’t the the one and only such incident. How many convicts are being released, has crime in those areas increased especially violent crimes, and how many murders does the system believe acceptable before admitting it was a mistake.

Why was the sheriff allowed to release prisoners?
If you really want to believe this virus excuse for letting him and others out, why not segregate people that got the virus IN THE PRISON? His actions make no sense at all. Also end visiting hours. Where happened to common sense?

The Sheriff should be executed, being direct party to this murder.

Imagine THAT face as the last one you saw before you died. Ugh, poor devil whoever the victim was. How about prosecuting the persons who released him for murder? There will be more!

Why do we have prisons? To reform criminals? To punish criminals? To keep criminals away from the general public? To provide housing for criminals at taxpayer expense? We seem to be failing at every level where rehabilitation matters most.

That’s why the violent worthless ones need to be put down immediately and the others will see that if they try to come back to prison with a violent act they will have the same happen to them.

Laws are 100% ok. It’s when the enforcers of the law stop caring about those they are supposed to protect when things fall apart. When anyone can be arrested for anything that’s kind of a yuge problem.

Earlier, in Plant City Fl. a robber held up a SUNOCO gas station. The security video shows the clerk giving the robber the money. Then the robber, for no reason, except pure demonic evil shot the clerk in the face.
