Kentucky worshipers met with NAILS IN THE ROAD as they defy coronavirus lockdown

The Democrats continue to impose barbaric punishments using Corona as a cloak for these punitive measures.

Geller Report has been publishing the continuing Democrat abuse of power during the Corona lockdown. But nails in the road to stop good folks from attending church on Easter Sunday takes the cake.

Coronavirus Is Exposing Little Tyrants All Over The Country

Story continues below advertisement

Kentucky worshipers met with nails in road as they defy coronavirus lockdown

A Kentucky church defied coronavirus lockdown orders to hold a packed Easter Sunday service — despite a heavy police presence and even nails blocking the parking lots, according to a report.

Maryville Baptist Church appeared to have a near-full house for its Sunday service despite orders to avoid in-person services — and the heightened risk of catching COVID-19, the Louisville Courier Journal said.

Worshipers arrived even after police warned that they would record their license plates to force them into 14-day quarantines.

Many — including the defiant pastor, the Rev. Jack Roberts — arrived with their plates covered, with officers instead recording their VIN numbers, the paper said.

Even more desperate measures appeared to have been taken to keep the faithful away — with “piles of nails” blocking each entrance, according to photos shared by the Courier Journal.

It was not clear who had left the nails, which were eventually cleared by church volunteers in time for the main arrivals, the paper said.

Kentucky state troopers then left large signs on every car left in the church lot, the paper said — accusing those present of “CREATING SCENES OF AN EMERGENCY.”

They noted that everyone in the car owner’s household would be forced to quarantine for 14 days for defying the warning — an order that several worshipers told the Courier Journal they planned to ignore.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear previously insisted that the state was not going to “padlock doors or arrest pastors” but just wanted to protect the wider community.

“To our knowledge, 99.89% of all churches and all synagogues and all mosques in Kentucky have chosen to do the right thing,” Beshear said Saturday, adding he was “just doing my best to save lives.”

Maryville appeared to be the only church to defy the ruling against in-person services, police told the Courier Journal.

Pastor Roberts had previously said he was “not interested in trying to defy the government” — but maintained he has a constitutional right to hold services for his faithful, the paper noted.

The orders were at the heart of a wider constitutional feud over the right to worship at a time when even Pope Francis is holding Easter Mass behind locked doors because of the serious risk of COVID-19 spreading.

A federal judge ruled Saturday that the mayor of Louisville’s “stunning” ban on drive-in Easter church services was “unconstitutional.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) cheered the decision Saturday.

“Grateful for this strong, eloquent ruling defending Kentuckians’ religious liberty,” McConnell tweeted.

No doubt about it. This is designed to deny our freedom and constitutional rights. There are more freedom in Mexico than in so-called “Land of the Free”. Judicial Watch is reporting how Mexican and American citizens freely crossing the border to get haircut, have tacos for lunch, visit family.

Alabaster Co., which sells religious books geared toward the Instagram generation, reported a sales increase of 143 percent compared to last year.

“In this life-altering and unprecedented pandemic, people are looking for hope and restoration,” Brian Chung, co-founder and business director of Alabaster Co., told Fox News.

Tell me there is not a war on CHRISTIANITY in the U.S.. It’s in the open. Notice many mosques hold their corporate call to prayer as usual during this “pandemic”. How come Imams and Muslims aren’t being harrassed and arrested?

An Imam Leads His Congregation Through the Pandemic
By Eliza Griswold
April 8, 2020

After two conference calls with his members, he felt that he needed to keep the mosque open for prayer and food services. “I have overwhelming support that people want to come out,” he told me. “We’re prepared to take the proper precautions, but we need to stay open. If we don’t, I don’t know how people who are not being paid are going to survive.” Given the mosque’s large space, he believed that at least six feet between congregants could be easily maintained. “On an average day, I might shake one hundred hands,” he said. “I’m somewhat of a germophobe, so I already use Purell.”

On March 19th, there were only eighteen diagnosed cases of covid-19 in the Philadelphia area. (Due to a lack of testing and the fact that many carriers are asymptomatic, the number of cases was probably much higher.) “Even if I multiply that by ten, that’s still only a hundred and eighty in a city of 1.5 million people,” he told me. “At least in my opinion, it’s not time to hit the bunkers yet.”

Continuing –

Despite the government advising Londoners to avoid unnecessary social contact, an East London Mosque and London Muslim Centre spokesperson confirmed today that it is open to the public.

The holy call to prayer will continue to fill the halls of London’s busiest mosque this morning (Tuesday, March 17), as it has done since it opened in 1985.

On a normal day, some 10,000 worshipers from all over East London attend the Whitechapel site across five daily prayers.

(Multiply the spread of that out.)

Addressing the mosque last week, Imam Shaykh Mohammed Mahmoud told the congregation not to panic and trust in Allah.

Hey Karen, you know you can get the virus in grocery markets too right? While stocking up on your third load of toilet paper.

Meanwhile the stories I read said he was outspoken about the media hype. He loved his flock and his family. He took precautions because he said it was a dangerous virus but don’t let fear ruin your life.

He also had underlying health conditions. Which is about 80% of all reported deaths in America due to this virus.

So Karen…I absolutely do not want people to die from the virus. I am also against abortion, illegal immigration, government forced immigration from 3rd world shztholes, drinking and driving, texting and driving, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, flu, small pox, swine flu, SARS, Ebola, tuberculosis, gun violence, gangs, drug usage, crashing the economy, and libturd Karen’s.

Stack it all up Karen and pick your poison.

Your dishonesty is vapid and easily rebutted. Only in church can you not protect each other from this particular virus. That is your bullshzt message.

It isn’t clear how the service was done at this church but a church service can be done in a way that maintains social distance standards and sanitizes to minimize the potential for the spread of the virus. If this were not true, we wouldn’t even be able to go grocery shopping or even conduct other business deemed essential by some bureaucrat without getting infected and driving the number of people infected higher than it is.

@ladywarrior (love that name)

It seems there were several churches that congregated. Near the beginning of this article, it said,

“Maryville Baptist Church appeared to have a near-full house for its Sunday service despite orders to avoid in-person services — and the heightened risk of catching COVID-19, the Louisville Courier Journal said.”

And the accompanying photo of empty cars in the parking lot with the officer jotting down VINs it seems to me, those people went inside. And when it says “appeared to “have a near-full house, that sounds like a church filled with people. But “full” could mean shoulder to shoulder or there could have been chairs that are spaced out like that done in Washington or markings could have been put on the pews for people to sit that followed social distancing rules even if they violate a 10 person limit like the way grocery stores do.

No matter which one it was ….we are a free people. And if those people felt they knew what they were doing….Big Brother doesn’t have a right to punish them for exercising their Constitutional rights…Freedom of assembly and Freedom of Religion.

And until they stop the 5 times a day prayers of the MUslims….they have no right to single out the Christians.

“Big Brother doesn’t have a right to punish them for exercising their Constitutional rights…Freedom of assembly and Freedom of Religion.” — our Rights shall not be infringed… they don’t come from the Government, they are from God and are thus unalienable and that is why our Bill of Rights instructs government not to infringe on those rights.

“And until they stop the 5 times a day prayers of the MUslims….they have no right to single out the Christians.”
Islam is a political ideology that uses religious rituals to control its members. In the past, we have outlawed “religions” because they advocate things that are unlawful such as polygamy and sex with children. Islam advocates both in addition to spousal abuse, FGM, and sex slaves. It should have been outlawed a long time ago and given what the Quran advocates, it should be outlawed today as unlawful as a religion. But not only that, it should be banned because it is a political ideology which advocates for the subjugation of non-Muslims and advocates sedition. So, it should be banned outright for many reason.

The veneer of human civilization is very thin indeed. Trust me.

I was stationed at NAS Memphis when April 4th of ’69 rolled around, the first anniversary of the MLK assassination. From the safety of my barracks, I and many others watched on TV as the whole city descended into utter violent chaos.

The base was sealed off and there was a 75 mile radius around Memphis where sales of gasoline and alcohol sales were banned in an effort to stem the craziness.

I have never viewed the human animal the same way since.

I was 21 at the time, but there is ONLY good and evil in this world so it does not matter what TAG OR HOW you DESCRIBE them. IF YOU ARE EVIL, YOU WILL DO BAD THINGS. IF YOU ARE GOOD, YOU WILL DO GOOD THINGS. Describing someone other than GOOD or EVIL is irrelevant in the sight of God/Jesus. HE will not judge them for what you describe. GOD will judge a person by whether or not they are RIGHTEOUS (in right-standing with God, meaning, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ) or UNRIGHTEOUS (their name NOT being in the BOOK OF LIFE).

Movie theaters and restaurants were closed to avoid people crowding together and potentially spreading the virus can’t these parishioners see this? The selective enforcement of this policy is also disgusting because I’ll bet not a single mosque anywhere in the USA is being inconvenienced by the policies enacted by various governors and mayors. Selective enforcement == persecution.

There is a constitutional right to peaceful assembly AND religious freedom. I am so glad these believers chose to gather to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus. My pastors chose to go along with the government despite our faith in God’s healing and protection just because they knew some people might genuinely not have experience with exercising that level of faith. Your pastors missed an incredible teaching moment about the power of faith. Suggest you hire new pastors are go to another church.

I agree with you and sincerely believe this is precisely when churches should have been open and declared Psalm 91 applies IF you are abiding in Christ and He is abiding in you. But this is the first church I have ever liked. I had avoided church for years while also being in fellowship and service with other believers. I grew up with religion, not Jesus and not transformation. The best time of learning is often alone with the Bible and the Holy Spirit.

Remind me to stay out of Kentucky….won’t spend vacation dollars there ever again.
It would be awesome if someone would follow up and see if any of the church goers got sick after attending the services in their cars……and then follow up and see how many officers putting out nails and taking down license numbers got sick.

Those officers had the right to refuse to follow unconstitutional orders. They chose not to….

People of Kentucky……you know what to do…..recall Bershears….get yourselves a decent, God Fearing Governor…

They took an oath to defend the Constitution. I know I did when sworn in, just words to most I guess…

“We were only following orders” Nazis at the Nuremburg trials

Those that think it could never happen in America are obviously not students of history and human nature…

As a Canadian I can say that we are expected to be subject to the Jackboots and their Overlords but I always wonder why, in the United States, with the freedoms granted you by the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution, you have those freedoms taken from you so easily. Doesn’t your Constitution say, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” So your governments at all levels actually can “MAKE LAWS RESPECTING, etc. Didn’t someone in the United States say something like, “Never sacrifice your freedoms for the sake of safety.”
