Los Angeles Mayor Shutting Off Water and Power For ‘Non-Essential’ Businesses That Haven’t Closed
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has announced that the city will be shutting off water and power to any non-essential businesses that defied orders and stayed open during the coronavirus crisis.

During his Tuesday press briefing Garcetti announced that the Department of Water and Power will be shutting off services for the businesses that don’t comply with the “safer at home” ordinance.
“This behavior is irresponsible and selfish,” Garcetti said of businesses that remained open.
KTLA reports that neighborhood prosecutors will implement safety measures and will contact the businesses before issuing further action, according to Garcetti.
“The easiest way to avoid a visit is to follow the rules,” he said.

The mayor also noted that Los Angeles is “six to 12 days behind New York” for being hit with a wave of coronavirus cases. He said that he does not believe his city will be running as normal by Easter.
“The peak is not here yet,” he said. “It will be bad.”
The grimness of his press conference did not end there. He also warned residents to be “prepared for some of the darkness that is ahead.”
“Each one of us can be a light. We can light a match of hope. We can navigate that tunnel with each other and not alone. And more importantly, what we do can ensure that more people exit that tunnel together… and that our city will rise again,” he added.

Yes. We are not energy independent in the matter of crude oil. One million bbl/day still arrives daily from Saudi Arabia.
According to Senator Cramer of North Dakota, a major American oil producer, in a letter to the President, imports to America are coming from Russia.
What is happening now is intended to cripple, if not destroy, the America oil production industry.

The U.S. has been a net exporter of oil (i.e., exports exceed imports) since early 2011.

Want green new deal … Here is one for you: I worked as a consultant in North Dakota back as far as 1979, did my last site in 2015 and know the workings of the North Dakota Industrial Commission overseeing oil and gas activity in that state.
Briefly, until this crash, the US was producing about about 13 million bbl/day. It was consuming between 17 and 19 million bbl/day. You still have to account for this difference in some way. Your figures may disagree with mine, but basically we are on the same page.
What were you doing when the Gull Island, Alaska discovery in 1974 identified an oilfield so huge it was capable of the US achieving energy independence then? And why were details of this discovery sealed by order of the United States government? And why was Alayeska not permitted to complete all its pipelines from Prudhoe to Valdez?

Well, I was graduating from HS in 74 and headed to GE after joining the military….didn’t do much in the exploration of oil and what politics were being done in DC at the time. But as far as I know there are claims that we still hold a huge reserve in AK of oil. Don’t think I will ever go up there and verify as that would be very moronic. I’ll take your word for it too since it has been proven already. We are still better off with Trump in our WH than the anti-American muslim libturd.

Absolutely. The Deep State bears full responsibility for denying the resources we already have. Now I am reading that the US will soon become a net importer of oil because of all the wells in Texas, North Dakota and elsewhere that will be closed/shut in. As usual, the Saudis know how to fool us. When we finally learn these lessons is up to us.

Now hold on, Mohandjob. The homeless are not allowed to defecate near the mayor’s mansion. That could result in them being sent to the back of the line to receive city benefits. They are allowed to defecate, however, within a reasonable distance from the mansion, as long as they bag it up and take it to a middle class home in any number of L.A. suburbs.
